  1. Somehow I can't help but think that if any super star coach came to Buffalo it would suck the life out of him and the team would still miss the playoff's....I guess I'm jaded at this point.
  2. Switch him out, leave him in, doesn't matter really - like changing deck chairs on the Titanic....
  3. True Dat...the mid 80's we as grim as they come for Bills fans, even darker than the late 60's/early 70's....
  4. I predicted 8-8 not long ago in another thread and got beat up a little from a couple people, now i feel like i was overly optimistic. The sad thing for me, and i really mean this, is that we'll be right back to square one at seasons end - a new coach, a new system, rebuilding and its 2020 before they can even sniff the playoffs....uggg.....
  5. You owe an apology to wet farts everywhere for comparing them to the Bills! And maybe, just maybe, laying the egg early in the season will bode well for this team. Maybe they'll all take a hard look in the mirror early on and get their poop together....
  6. No issues, just don't by the hype coming out of One Bills Drive after many many years of futility....and I never turn down a free beer! Well, you're wrong.....what i really hope is that some time before my clock expires the Bills win a super bowl or the Saber's win a Stanley Cup just so I can experience that as a born and raised WNYer....I don't see either of those happening this season. Maybe next year.
  7. But JFH talent doesn't mean anything when it comes to the Bills - I've watched them since 1965 when i was 5 years old and the team meant the world to me and lots of other little WNYer's.....Again, I really hope I'm wrong, but I don't see this team making the playoffs. Sure, they may go 8-8 or even 9-7, but so what? Maybe in a year or two they get a road wild card game and lose....will that make anyone here happy? Maybe for a week or two, sure....
  8. Loss to Raven - Just don't think Rex will have them ready for game 1 on the road; lost to Patriots - while they'll be without Brady, I think they're the better team; Loss to 49er's - that the annual "crap the bed" game that the Bills seem to have every year. Last year it was Jax.....Listen, I hope I'm wrong, but until they prove otherwise, 7-9, 9-7, it's all the same....
  9. Not that anyone cares but here's how I see it: 09/11 @ Baltimore Ravens LOSS 09/15 NEW YORK JETS WIN WIN 09/25 ARIZONA CARDINALS LOSS 10/02 @ New England Patriots LOSS 10/09 @ Los Angeles Rams WIN 10/16 SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS LOSS 10/23 @ Miami Dolphins WIN 10/30 NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS LOSS 11/07 @ Seattle Seahawks LOSS 11/20 @ Cincinnati Bengals LOSS 11/27 JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS WIN 12/4 @ Oakland Raiders WIN 12/11 PITTSBURGH STEELERS LOSS 12/18 CLEVELAND BROWNS WIN 12/24 MIAMI DOLPHINS WIN 01/01 @ New York Jets LOSS 1:00 pm 7 - 9
  10. Just tuned in, assume this is the Bills 3rd string D, right? Please tell me it's so....
  11. This would be nice. I really don't care if they're better or not, so long as the team makes the playoffs....if they go 7-9 because the offense sucked and the D was top five, who cares? If they go 7-9 and the offense is terrific but the defence can't stop anyone, who cares? Just win baby....
  12. What are the financial impacts to Dareus beyond the loss of pay for the first four games? Probably not enough to make him change his ways. But let's not forget that Bruce Smith was suspended for the first four games of the '88 season - the season that started those glorious years for the Bills.....Lightning couldn't strike twice could it Nah.....
  13. How about "Dreams Die Here" Field?
  14. Anybody for Bobby Chandler? He was a pretty decent receiver on some of the all time bad Bills teams and i believe he got a SB ring with the Raiders....
  15. you're a good man to your father....i'm hoping one of my children will change my diaper when the time comes on the theory that I had to change theirs so it's only fair.....my wife tells me not to get my hopes up!
  16. Living in Richmond, VA I don't listen to Murphy's shows on local Buffalo radio, although I think I can through my smart phone (easy - I'm over 55 and still need my kids to help me with the darn phone....). but I do enjoy listening to the Bills home radio call through my Sirius subscription during the fall. I'm already lining up my Sunday afternoon projects starting in early September just so I can listen to the games. For those of you local to WNY listening to the Bills home broadcast is probably like I used to feel about going to Niagara Falls when out of town relatives came to visit when I grew up in WNY - ho hum.....but for us displaced natives, at least in my case, its a little bit of home. I even like the local commercials.....BTW - we just got our first Wegman's in June.....now i can get Zweigles hot dogs and Weber's mustard!!!!!
  17. YEA!!!.....was pretty bummed yesterday as I watched my dad go cancer free only to have it return right when he started feeling better......so this is really terrific news.
  18. Looks like they're also going to have "Wide Right", "Music City Miracle", the Ronnie Harmon drop and a couple of the SB losses....yuck.....the 49er's game was a real nail biter if I recall....
  19. That's what I thought - I swear I remember my dad and his buddy's tailgating at the Rock Pile...but maybe what they were doing was actually bringing their own beer into the stadium....does that count as tailgating? Doesn't Paul Maguire tell a story on one of those NFL Films shows about people bringing charcoal grills into the Rock Pile and cooking hot dogs?
  20. Didn't the goal posts come down after the first AFL championship at the Rock Pile? My mom and dad went to the game and I recall that they said they went on the field after and that my mom hurt her leg when someone ran her over. I'll have to ask her, though she's 89 now so may not remember!
  21. Wow, and I had almost forgotten about that one.....
  22. Paul Maguire - a decent player and a great representative for the Buffalo area.....I think he became my favorite player after his playing days were over.....
  23. Richmond, VA - Redskins land....
  24. I had my truck aligned this morning and my Bills front plate was hanging by a thread due to a recent run in with something I ran over....when I came to pick up the truck I started talking football with the shop manager and it was then that he mentioned he fixed my Bills plate "because I felt bad for you being a Bills fan....." so it's finally paid off - being a Bills fan that is.....
