if Edelman doesnt play, the Bills can steal it.

This is a must win game for the Bills.

Not must win However a loss would be very disappointing -
Grievance? Like the Pats thought he was a choir boy?
-
this season went from a formality to very much in play. The Patriot's offense can be stopped
-
Is there cap implications on this?
-
Surprised. I wonder if AB is about to get hit with a tidal wave and the Pats know about it.

Coming to Buffalo's Silo City area in 2021

still need a fortune 500 to sustain all this. Anyways. It would be cool if the decks of the hotel rooms were driving range tees and you can order a bucket of room service balls and hit them off your balcony -
For the first time in almost 2 decades, the Bills may be an actual relevant team. It is so exciting.
-
It wont. But I dont think these trends are alarming. It is not a gate-driven league. Its all about media distribution and fantasy/gambling, and the NFL is an absolute monster and growing. If they can get traction internationally, that would be another new level. With that said, some day it will go the way of boxing, horseracing (and before long baseball). I feel like the NBA will emerge within 20 years as the new monster. Low concussion risk, lots playing, international footprint, lots of star power, can be exciting, etc.

There is a parity issue in the NFL, even with the cap and draft order set-up. A lot of games are perceived as unimportant.

Its not hype so much as the arms race of people and entities trying to out-do one another to come up with ideas to "honor" him. Im thankful we were all introduced to him and were touched by his story. Its great the bills made him a special fan and honored him with draft selections, visits, and exposure. He is kind of an immortal fan now that nobody will forget and thats awesome. Lighting up city hall to honor him and wall to wall coverage in the buffalo news at the time is borderline embarrassing. Outing people who may not have visited him is lame. Now i see someone wrote a childrens book about him

Im fine with my level of fan-dom. It was a touching story on how the Bills and fan base took him in, and he seemed like a nice guy and all. The Pancho packs thing was great. But full-page collages in the Buffalo newspaper and a 5 minute pregame ceremony... and seeing people on social media suggestion he get inducted on the wall of fame, and we start a pancho billa chant before every game, etc is a bit... odd

Buffalo Bills to fans on game day: Behave or be gone
May Day 10 replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The behavior before and at games is a small fraction of what it was 10 years ago. -
I was fine with it when it was just the thing to do, and had an inaudible wink between me and the customer service rep, it was easy, and I felt like a valued customer putting one over on Time Warner/Spectrum/Comcast, etc. They were almost always able to give me everything I wanted/needed, and kept the price within reach of the Cable Company's triple-play introductory price... and it would take a couple minutes. I dont want to call every year and go to the mat trying to get deals, and seeing others with better deals, and needing a spreadsheet to track what I am getting in comparison with other options. It shouldnt be like buying a car. Its a media technology on its death throes anyway.

The Monday Night Football schedule is hot garbage
May Day 10 replied to Dablitzkrieg's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think they ratcheted up the tnf games last year when the deal changed. Jacksonville/Tennessee is interesting. Then eagles packers, then rams seahawks. Contrast that bears redskins, bengals, steelers, and browns 49ers. Im in the minority of nfl fans who love tnf. It makes for a long football weekend. Usually have an interesting ncaa game friday, saturday, like 14 hours of ncaa, sunday nfl, then mnf. Tuesday-Wednesday breather, then its already thursday again. Its also another game we get to watch instead of being buried on sunday afternoon -

The Growth Mindset Culture of Coach McDermott
May Day 10 replied to foreboding's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with the original post. For too long, this franchise's priority was to remain solvent, run by people in Ralph Wilson's football circle. Then, for whatever reason, Terry Pegula stuck with the same people for awhile before learning that this team was not yet in the 21st century. Russ Brandon was committed to Russ Brandon. Wanted to make a name for himself so he could land on his feet elsewhere in the NFL, mainly on the football side. That was his dream and his goal and his reason for being in the profession. Ralph Wilson did all in his power to assist Brandon in chasing that goal. Levy, Nix, Whaley, etc were largely puppets/"co-GMs" along with Brandon and Overdorf to help Russ Brandon learn the ropes. They kept in-demand GMs and Coaches at arms reach because they didnt want to upset the power structure (and in-demand coaches and GMs knew to stay away). We were fed the 'continuity' line over and over, which was tough to swallow because we were being told the Bills should continue with crap. As a result, we got a lot of garbage. Poor management, disjointed. Struggles at times. Our 2 most 'successful' coaches quit after winning seasons. The Watkins trade was 100% desperation to prop up Manuel to make themselves look good because they knew the clock was ticking on their employment status. Low regard for the future. McDermott and Beane feel different. It feels like a cohesive franchise and an attention to detail that we haven't seen in a long time. It feels like they are adaptable. Players seem to really like to play here and word will get out. -
I agree with this. I was told that I loved being negative, I wasnt a real fan, and that I rooted for them to lose because I disapproved of the chronically poor management. It was very poor and it was/is clear as day. Now, I am pleased with McDermott/Beane and feel like they are going in the right direction. I have supported them throughout.... although I waivered a bit with the QB 'mismanagement' early last season.
