Weird stuff happens when we play the Brownies
May Day 10 replied to Dan Darragh's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
there was the monday night game that Evans and/or Owens were wide open streaming down the field nearly every play and Edwards wouldnt throw it -
this has to be one of the worst losses/moments in a long list of them for the franchise, no?

Seattle Seahawks Have "Gig Posters" for Games

Not to mention anxiety, having to enter the gates when they open, bringing a poster tube to games, etc... ha. -
Seattle Seahawks Have "Gig Posters" for Games

I could see the Pegulas doing something like this. As an aside, I was trying to see if I could purchase these. I was led to the Seahawks' 'One Buffalo" app alternative. It was the same interface. Under 'gameday experiences', you could order the prints (and pick them up in person). However, I did notice, their gameday experiences dwarfed what the Bills offer. The bills only have 1 available: go to the field post game. The Seahawks have a bunch of cool stuff. Kicking field goals after the game would be cool. https://www.seahawks.com/game-day/experiences/ -
Drew Bledsoe debate topic
May Day 10 replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Absolutely not a bust, although he didnt reach his draft day expectations/ceiling. He was a decent starting quarterback for like 14 seasons. Serviceable enough to contend for or win a championship if he were in the right situation. Bust, Im thinking Akili Smith, Jeff George, Jemarcus Russell, Vince Young, Ryan Leaf, Heath Shuler, Rick Mirer, Andre Ware, Tim Couch, Joey Harrington, David Carr. -

The thing with these is... typically, they are limited edition. So the artist may print like 2,000 or so for the event, then sign and number another 100 of them and sell them from their web site (which are typically worth more). They also might create some variants with mixing up the colors or printing some on 'foil' paper. -

Seattle Seahawks Have "Gig Posters" for Games
May Day 10 posted a topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I collect gig posters from shows I have been to (as well as branched off into some others and other screen print art). These things look outstanding matted, framed, etc. The Seahawks crossed the rubicon. They picked Ames Bros (a Seattle poster/apparel artist who create a lot of gig posters). In a way, Im glad the Bills dont do this, at least my anxiety and wallet are happy.... but these are awesome. Some remind me of the cool NFL/AFL program art from the 60's. https://crosscut.com/2019/10/seahawks-draft-seattle-artists-new-series-game-day-posters I think this is doable with Buffalo's robust art community.- 39 replies

A possible solution for tanking? Reinvent the draft.
May Day 10 replied to Samwell Tarly's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have said it before, but I prefer straight-up last picks first and so on. IMO, the NFL and MLB there is almost no problem at all... however, with MLB, teams are following the Astros' lead and tearing everything to the studs, which this season lead to half the American league playing 162 exhibition games. I think that is more of a product of their financial and playoff/regular season structure moreso than teams tanking acutely for the draft The NBA and NHL, there is immediate returns for an acute tank. Again, I would prefer last picks first and forget about it... but one of my last choices is an open, somewhat smoothed out lottery, such as the NHL holds. If the current rules were in place in 2015, we could have seen the Kings, who in the past 3 seasons won 2 cups and lost in a Conference Championship, but barely miss the playoffs swoop in and take McDavid (or Eichel). That would be awful. The NHL is constantly flirting with these disaster scenarios with this and it will lend to conspiracy theories. So IMO, if they want to prevent tanking, a 3 year rolling average would prevent that. Committing to a 3 year tank based on a player who is 14 or 15 years old when you decide to do it is not going to happen. At least with that, you feed the top prospects into the teams who really need them. -

Just more wireless, faster wireless, and more cloud-based stuff, while electronics continue to be miniturized. -
Philly fans really are the worst
May Day 10 replied to Dan Darragh's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The ones around me werent bad. Before the game, there was a woman filming herself giving everyone the middle finger in a 360 circle. I thought it was strange and when she got to me, I gave her the 'tone it down' gesture. She laughed. I said we are a fairly friendly section, I have nothing against anyone for their choice of football team... but on the other hand, I don't need to be flipped off for no reason. She was cool about it and I didnt notice her the rest of the game. -
Mayfield is very immature. Too emotional, and a QB should not be that external with it. He could grow out of it. We will see. Lots of ability there. Im rooting for them to lose to the Broncos though. The thing could fly off the tracks right on time for the Bills' game.

WGR-550 Dust-up Today: Schopp vs. Capaccio!
May Day 10 replied to Nextmanup's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lots of people tune into WGR. It probably doesnt match angry zombie radio 930, but they have what they have. Im curious to know how much is due to a 'captive' audience. I dont mind Schopp and appreciate his 'thoughtful approach' most of the time, although when he misses the mark with it, he misses bad. Schopp demands evidence, past performance, and facts for the most part. This is to a flaw sometimes because he puts zero stock in 'intangibles' like culture, development, tools, momentum, etc. The callers are also cringe-worthy, and with Schopp it is amplified because almost none come armed with any factual evidence to support their viewpoints. I dont think Bulldog brings anything to the table. I like the morning show as well... But overall, WGR is so stale, especially the afternoon show. I find the late night show with whatever entry level guys they have to be refreshing, as is the weekend shows. I also stumble on the Tim Graham show and Sullivan's show on 1270 sometimes and it is nice hearing a different format, different outlook, interviews, guests, etc. No callers (because not a lot of people listen) is also nice. I liked Bull's show on 1270 when it existed, although at the end he got a little hacky with his "wild jock" schtick. The Instigators went from being the worst thing ever with Sylvester and Peters to great in present day -

Schopp produces very strong reactions and discussion like no other in our market. That means he is masterfully doing his job. -
XFL Fires back against Antonio Brown
May Day 10 replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree that it will likely last a season, maybe even 2 I dont think anyone is going to watch it or care. Teams are placed in big markets where itll just get swallowed up and nobody will buy tickets. It feels like McMahon wanted to start this to capitalize on the "anti" NFL crowd who pretended they would never watch the NFL again because Colin Kaepernick was mean. Since then, everyone, predictably, got over it and continues to follow the NFL. There is just no market for another league not 'sanctioned' by the NFL. -
is there really actual talk about Kansas City building a new indoor stadium for their franchise quarterback? lol edit: Just googled around and couldnt find one grain of sand of truth to this.
-
My personal preference is outdoor. Aesthetically, the elements, time of day, etc add a dimension to the game that is sorely missing from Detroit Lions' games. All those games look the same other than opponent. Boring. I trust in all the analysis done by and for the Pegulas to pick out what is right and what they want. Its their money. There are definitely virtues with an indoor facility. I understand it. Either way. No, they arent going to bring a Superbowl to Buffalo

Taco War in WNY becomes political
May Day 10 replied to Walking Tall's topic in Off the Wall Archives
These are decent local business owners who got in a little over their heads in a situation and made a stupid mistake. They aren't trying to discriminate against law enforcement as a whole or anything. This is a great, upstart, local company who employs (100?)-plus people. One fairly harmless mis-step that is really easy to not take offense to, and a very vocal minority of people in WNY want to pull the business beneath their ears. The comments in the facebook threads on WBEN and WIVB and such are cringe-worthy with people who "cant wait to see them in the unemployment line". One side likes to call the other "snowflakes", but man. Everyone needs some thicker skin on some of this stuff. Anyone complaining they were serving ICE needs to chill out too. Such a ridiculous complaint. -

Who are the "outrage nutjobs" though? It is hard to tell -
It depends on where you live/what direction you would like to leave. I usually leave when the game's result is pretty much a done deal. Yesterday when it was 27-13 and the Eagles got to the 5. I hustle out. Brisk walk to the car and am able to leave unmolested
