I have nothing against Kaepernick, but he looked to be washing out pretty bad the last year or so in the league and has had a lot of time away from the sport. I dont think there is much of a chance he amounts to anything.

CBA Update - Plus, what changes would you make?
May Day 10 replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If i were god of football? Fold the patriots Buff out most of preseason. Start season earlier. 2nd bye week, coincide thursday games with bye weeks. Form some sort of practice squad developmental D league with modified rules. Do some sort of realignment and/or alter the division structure. Bring back inadvertent 5 yard facemask option. Eliminate all video review for a year and start from scratch, slowly implementing replay if needed. -
Would you want the Bills to sign Tom Brady?
May Day 10 replied to BillsFan8083's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No. Too much hate spilt toward him over too long. I actually think he is fairly marginal skill wise and would likely be exposed outside new england. Guerero's comments reek of brady's camp continuing to posture over... something. Somethings up there. Is he trying to push Beli out? -
? Greatest Teams #35 1990 Buffalo Bills
May Day 10 replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think 35 is pretty fair I guess coming from National media/NFL The 'super bowl win' barrier is so tough to crack in a 'better than' argument when it comes to anything in this league. the fact that they are ranked better than so many Superbowl and Championship winners is pretty incredible. I disagree that the Patriots in 2003 were better than the 90 Bills though -
What Was The Worst Thing About Today's Loss?
May Day 10 replied to Peace Frog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I said it in the other thread... but it felt like they had it. It felt like Allen was going to march down the field and the Browns couldnt stop them. Then they got to the 35 and everyone decided that was good enough. Almost like before the drive, mentally, someone said "OK, all we have to do is make it to the 35 to give Stephen a shot!", then they got to the 35 and the goal was considered met. -
McDermotts tie vs win mentality [edited title]
May Day 10 replied to HomeskillitMoorman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I lost a lot of faith and trust in McDermott there. It just appeared they weren't prepared for a situation they should have been prepared for, and couldnt have managed it worse. Wasted timeout. Then moving the ball until a self-induced stall out at the very edge of your shaky FG kicker's range. It felt like this was going to be a huge moment/drive for Allen, then they started wasting time and huddling. %-wise, I would take a 4th and 4 over a 53 yard attempt in that situation. Stopping at the edge of the FG range, and donking off the rest of the time is the kind of garbage we look down our noses and laugh at guys like Kitchens and Gase for. Above all things, this was my takeaway from the game, and the most 'disturbing' thing. -

Clippers busted out the Braves throwbacks last night
May Day 10 replied to Sundancer's topic in Off the Wall Archives
In fairness, anyone who had anything to do with that is long gone. They have relocated since the relocation, and a majority of Clippers fans likely werent alive during/remember the Buffalo Braves. A tribute like this is the most mainstream way the Braves can be kept 'alive' and remembered. -

I splurged and bought a pair of the giveaway socks from last night off ebay -
Its all predicated on situation. There are only certain rivalries that are blood feuds that endure (PIT/CLE), (CHI/GB) (KC/OAK), (NFC East) for example. And yes, for the most part its a fan thing unless the teams are battling at the top of a division. Seattle/San Francisco is a good example of a rivalry that was predicated on the teams being good. They were in different conferences for a generation. A few years ago, it was a battle for a few seasons, then San Francisco went into the tank and it fizzled. Now its back again. Personally, I dont think anything is lost if the Bills de-coupled with Miami, the Jets, and NE. I am kind of sick of seeing them for 6 games of 16 every single season.
-
Yeah. Boston, NYC, and Miami have very little in common with Buffalo culturally or sports-wise. We are nothing to the average Boston or NYC sports fan. Miami people dont even care. If Cleveland were 6-2 and getting hyped, while we were 2-6. I would legit feel jealousy. It would be really easy to flip the hate switch on Pittsburgh as well.

Predict the 4 teams in the playoff for college 2019-2020
May Day 10 replied to major's topic in College Football
not saying its always like this, (but I feel like parity in the top 10 is increasing), but between (arbitrarily) Ohio State, Alabama, LSU, Florida, Georgia, Penn State, Clemson, and Oklahoma.... Im not sure if I would bet on any wipeouts. I also think that through the pile, the winner of Utah/Oregon should have a spot, even with 1 loss. I also think 8 teams makes it easier for a Central Florida/N Illinois/Boise State inclusion (using recent examples of mid-major teams to make a mark) -

this season is a textbook case for an 8 team playoff -
The London Chargers? In the AFC East? It could happen
May Day 10 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
isnt the general accepted story/rumor that the Bills were pegged to make that move in 2002, but Ralph Wilson nixed it due to the ever-so-captivating Miami "rivalry"? -
and the main reason for the rivalries that pop up, are the battle for the top of the Division. San Fran vs Seattle? You can have Buffalo and Arizona in a division and if they are #1 and #2 for 4 years, there is going to be an "intense" rivalry formed. I kind of like the present format, in that it is perfectly symmetrical for schedule. I do get sick of the constant 6/16 NE/MIA/NYJ matchups. Realignment in all leagues happens from time to time. I think the nearly 20 years we have had this alignment is an eternity as far as that goes.
-
Tbh, im pretty bored with the current format and facing the same 3 teams for 3/8ths of every single season. I hold very little animosity or care about the dolphins and jets, other than me hating nyc sports teams. I hate new england, but that would be regardless of division.

Dolphins "rivalry" is dead -
HEY THIS IS JUST LIKE THE OLD GIANTS DALLAS GAMES
-
Dont care much about the schedule. Its hard to win any game in the nfl. Look at the cowboys/jets, and dolphins/jets... and how miami has played against was, buf, pit, and nyj. Chargers throttle gb. Browns beat up ravens. Giants had a decent run after the bills game. Its about winning more than losing. 6-2 is outstanding. They have a shot at a title halfway in. Full stop.

Leipold has done a fantastic job this season. Division is probably gone due to the loss vs Miami, but a bowl game certainly is very much in play.

Buffalo Bills Pushing to Expand Brand North
May Day 10 replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It would sort of be automatic, right? But I do think efforts toward Albany and Binghamton are important to win people over from the Giants/Jets/Patriots/Steelers/Eagles. Canada, mostly the Golden Horseshoe, has a lot of population and even though a lot go to Bills games, it is largely untapped and there for the taking. Most of the opposing fans we see at Bills games are Canadians. If the Bills are a successful teams, those jerseys will convert to blue, white, and red, and more people will support the team (and that will include the GTA corporate community to a point). Montreal/Ottawa are ripe for the pickings. I have friends there who love the Bills and going to games. Our version of sports/fun on gamedays is right up their alley and perfect. -
Buffalo Bills Pushing to Expand Brand North
May Day 10 replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Its all about winning and becoming a brand people want to identify with. That phony Toronto series was nothing but an unshared revenue grab, and a dress rehearsal for Ted Rogers to move the Bills to Toronto eventually. I do think that once this team is relevant (now?)... they should absolutely play a preseason game(s) in Montreal, Hamilton, Ottawa, and possibly Toronto. When the Bills' number comes up for the international series, they should try to lean hard to play the game in Canada, preferably in Toronto or Montreal -
I remember seeing those boards after week 1 and I was shocked with how many posters had Darnold locked in as a tried and true franchise QB, while Allen was proven as garbage-heap bound. Even now, I wouldn't bet on either of these guys either way. I would feel pretty good as a Dolphins fan. Flores seems to have motivated these guys to come back and really compete every week. Bodes well for the future, especially with a glut of picks and salary freedom.
