  1. Looks to me like the scheming NFL wants Kaepernick to join as a NFL front office adviser so they can give him a forum for his cause. More importantly with a new forum he could stop the players from kneeling for the anthem since he would then be NFL management. Any new battle for disgusted fans who a few years ago left the NFL ticket purchasing, NFL game watching, and NFL merchandise boycotting don't go through the same protest. The NFL pissed off millions of patriotic fans and it cost them millions of dollars. Shrewd move.
  2. Seemed Fitz could always be counted on to play a reasonably good game and even get leads. He just as often however was capable of throwing that 4th quarter back breaking INT to lose the lead or the game.
  3. It speaks to the argument he may one day be headed to the coaching ranks. It also allowed Josh who organized the workouts to concentrate on running the plays correctly and teaching Diggs and the rooks exactly what he wanted done. It was also nice to see Smoke and Beasley to help Diggs. Kudos to Webb. Backup QB will be real interesting. I wonder if Fromm had a conventional off season if he had a real chance of supplanting Barkley but with the strange off season its hard to see that. Then what does that mean for Webb? Will they keep Fromm on the 53 and keep Webb on the practice squad?
  4. Medical facilities in NY are open yet the Bills treatment facility is not open despite the NFL ruling a player may go to a team facility if the player is undergoing medical treatment or rehabbing an injury. Is that fair to the Bills for NY to deny them essential business status?
  5. BPA is an interesting theory. It is used because its easy to explain and understand. However, hidden inside this acronym is the more often MIPN (Most Impactful Player Now). It is never too far beneath the surface. Here are some Brandon Beane quotes from the post draft presser last night. The Bills were not supposed to have a "need". BPA was used by Beane and everyone. Then this: 2:17 “If I got a guy sticking out on a board with a need I’m going to try to get him” 8:40 We won’t reach out of the realm, If I got a guy in the mid 4 and a guy at the bottom of 4 I might lean to need especially if its one I think this guy is going to have a bigger impact immediately now that we’re moving in the later rounds. I think we talked about it earlier these first couple picks I was truly going to sit there and best player that’s what we were going to take um the running back was a probably the bigger need of the two if you want to compare that but with that said there were other guys that came off too that would have been in the mix so it was a really easy for Zach where he was sitting on the board but tomorrow hopefully it will be the best player available but if its close and there’s a need um we may aim to the need. I think its clear that BPA is for the masses because its easier to understand but its really MIPN that drives Beane's decisions.
  6. Bills Edge position group was graded at 15th in the league (PFF, yea I know). Pass D graded at 4th. The OL group was 24th. I thought it would be either OL or Edge. It wasn't sexy but the right choice for McD. Blue collar, great work ethic. So much for BPA though with Mims and others on the board. Not even sure why anyone uses BPA when many times its MIPN (Most Impactful Player Now) which this was. If it was Mims it would have been BPA.
  7. Florio is actually very good at interviews IMO. He is very well prepared and his interviews flow well. Now as a commentator that's where I take exception.
  8. So did you donate the $25.00 or donate anything like Allen or do you just throw shade for the purpose of throwing it? You have zero idea what donations Allen makes in WNY including his work for O'shei Childrens Hospital and other charitable organizations. He is also on his rookie contract. Making that judgement is interesting.
  9. OR it tells you the Seahawks offered him more money, but lets not let that possibility get in the way of your narrative. Its always better to choose a narrative to fit what your thinking and reject all other possible narratives that don't fit.
  10. Does anyone think that if our HC was named Reid or Payton that we would only average the 19+ ppg? If you think it would nearer 30 with the same personnel then look inward to our coaching philosophy and ask why? If you don't think we would score many more ppg even with Reid or Payton then we need more weapons.
  11. True. And yet if the Bills hold the Pats at 13 like the Titans did or the Ravens to 12 like the Titans did we win both those games.
  12. Special player. Special read. Glad I got on the bandwagon years ago now that the Shnowman says "no more room". Didn't even offer to get a bigger wagon! No more room. If you ain't on it you can't get on it. Loved it!
  13. I listened as well. IMO Matt Parinno is really the guy to read as he is the most fair about Allen. He gets "fanish" right after a game and does over criticize initially. Then he walks that back and is consistently fair. I used to like Fairburn but ever since he and Buscaglia went "Athletic" they seem to have led and fed each other down the rabbit hole of negative reporting above fairness. Buscaglia has always been an Allen critic who tries to hide it sometimes. I remember when the Nate, AJ, and Josh debacle was going down in early August of 2018 he reported that McCarron (or Peterman not sure which and doesn't matter) looked good but that the other two didn't do "anything" to distinguish themselves. This was at the same time the Bills were reporting Allen ran for a TD in practice of 40 - 50 yards. I tweeted Joe to ask why the disconnect. He stated he thought he ran out of bounds!. Yet none of the two including our 7th did nothing to distinguish themselves. I said to my self.....ahh ok... really? I think he continues to reluctantly give Allen credit.....when he must.
  14. Good summary. He also should have added his 3 blocker sweep in which his 3 blockers blocked nobody and he got hit. Could have been a TD. Morse, Knox, and ? (Feliciano) all left him hanging. Morse is being paid $44 mil. We should have an expectation that at least he or Feliciano? should have the veteran presence to know what the hell they are doing.
  15. Considering his significant improvement in nearly all if not all of the relevant stats in year two over year one I would say he is getting the coaching he needs. If his 2019 stats were offered as a measuring stone BEFORE the season all would have been well satisfied. Now that the season is over and in retrospect, some claim to have wanted more. He will never satisfy those people who have a Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Aaron Rogers image in their head because they were conditioned to view those profiles as the standard. Even PFF has had to recalculate the way they view Allen. The Farve model seems to be what we might expect from him moving forward and I would be well satisfied if that ends up happening. If he improves as much in year 3 as he did in year 2 he will silence even more critics. He will never silence them all. Too many have much invested in his demise, along with many on this forum.
  16. And if the defense ONLY did as well as they did against that same team. The Bills would likely had a FG attempt to tie the game not lose it. Your own argument proves my point.
  17. Well spoken. It is a team game and when analysts, fans, and others choose to criticize a player, a play, a score, a result without being fair in their criticism then they should be open for criticism themselves. Ex: There was a lot of criticism on Allen's second half and not much praise for his first half. A lot of criticism for his what some called "reckless" attempted lateral to Knox. The skill to run for the first down and more is overlooked in favor of the criticism of his calculated (reckless) decision. Did I cringe? Yes. It was a lateral toward the sidelines. It was 1 of the 81 plays he ran, not 25 of the 81. He saw Knox coming. He saw a chance to make a spectacular play. Knox had no idea it was coming however but had the sense to mitigate the play. We did not lose possession. Had the lateral worked and Knox likely scored the talk about recklessness would have turned to heroic. But many's desire is to forget the first part of the play in order to criticize the second part of the play. Sometimes we want him to play hero ball BUT only if it works and are quick to criticize if it doesn't. Sometimes people want to project bad stats like potential INTs although they didn't happen (for lots of reasons) and not project the whatifs if there wasn't the penalty, the dropped pass, the missed block, etc. I prefer fairness and perspective.
  18. Interestingly, in Week 16 the Bills lost to the Patriots in a game for the Division. Allen and the offense gave the lead to the defense in the third quarter. The defense promptly allowed Brady to march down the field and score. The defense gives up 24 and given a pass for their performance. Allen is blamed for only scoring 17. March forward 2 weeks. After a disastrous game against the Dolphins (which would have given the Division to the Bills had they beat the Pats and Jets) the Titans march into Gillette and beat the Pats 14 - 13. The Pats were up 13 - 7 in the second half. The Titans scored a TD in the 3rd giving their defense the lead at 14 - 13. The Titans defense however held onto that lead for over a quarter to win. Tannehill gets the win and is praised for managing the game scoring 13 and the Titans win. The Bills lose to the same Pats 24 - 17 at Gillette when the defense couldn't hold the lead in the third and gives up 11 more points than the Titans to Brady. Allen takes the loss and the criticism that goes with not scoring 25. Perspective????? Anyone?????
  19. Interestingly, when Allen gave the lead in the Patriots game in Week 16 back to the D in the third quarter they promptly allowed Brady to march down the field and score and retake the lead. The Bills lose and Allen gets credit for the loss. Also interestingly, the Titans beat the Patriots 14 - 13 in the WC game. When the Titans O scored a TD and handed the lead to the D at 14 - 13 they held it throughout the second half to win. Titans gave up 13 to Brady and it was enough, Tannehill gets the win scoring 13 and gets praise for managing the game. The Bills gave up 24 to Brady and it wasn't enough. Allen takes the loss scoring 17. Perspective.......all everyone blames Allen...
  20. I think the idea that Josh needs to be pushed after year 2 is way to early. Are you saying that he has not from day 1 been "all in" on his responsibilities as QB of the franchise? That he has not put 100% in self evaluation, effort to get better, or ANYTHING that suggests he needs to look over his shoulder?? I think absolutely not. He has made great strides from year 1 to year 2 and the expectation that he will attack the off season again and make great strides in year 3 is real. Funny how many were calling for Barkley to push Allen last year and this year until they saw how Barkley performed. Then, quiet. I doubt McBeane would want to disrupt the growing QB room by bringing in a perceived threat who may or may not be an upgrade.
  21. Wow! The Patriots based on your argument have been extremely negligent! The have only "3" CBs listed. Please... you are getting hung up on how a team lists their defensive backs. The Patriots list 10 defensive backs (3 CB, 7 DB). The Bills list 10 defensive backs (4 CB, 6 S). We all know that Siran Neal is the backup slot CB and they have Cam Lewis on the PS. Don't get hung up on labels.
  22. In hindsight.....yes thanks to the Pegulas........ sans the Pegulas we would all be on our knees begging Trump to save us from Bon Jovi....
  23. What will be fascinating is who will be on the "inactive" list. We expect those that are usually on the list to play a lot in this game. We will know at 11:30 which starters, if any, will not play in the game for sure.
