  1. There are some varying opinions on him, but combine will show what he’s really got and it’s gonna surprise some people. I expect he will be one of the defensive stars at the combine. And with small school players, there is often even more info warfare that goes on trying to deflect buzz on lesser known players so teams may have better chance of landing a player. Hes high on my wish list.
  2. He was 3rd or 4th when he was under the radar earlier being from a small school, but he’s a guy that’s garnering scouts attention now and I think he is most likely a 2nd round pick right now. Don’t be surprised if by draft time he could be potential first round pick as more people catch on to him. He would be a lock for the early first had he played at a big school with the kind of production he had. But this kids a beast and big time leader too. Captain as an under classman, intelligent and a Deans list student, and major competitor. Love to draft this kid. 3 years from now when they look back at this draft I think he will be one of the best defensive players to come out of it.
  3. I prefer Lawerence over Clowney but wouldn’t be upset if we got either. However I would much rather draft Oshane Ximines in the 2nd/3rd than pay $20m a year to one of these guys.
  4. In no particular order, some that come to mind: Bills vs Giants - Great game with a bad result Rams vs Titans - great game down to the last play Rams vs Patriots - Lats first SB when Pats where who people actually loved when they came out as one unit instead of announcing individual players as a major underdog with a 6th round rookie against the mega offense of the Rams Eagles vs Patriots - Just a non stop action game and saw the Eagles upset Brady and his 500 yards. Giants vs Patriots - Loved seeing the undefeated Pats get taken down in a big upset and exciting and close game. 6th one: Steelers vs Cardinals
  5. Haha I was just joking with ya cuz no one was commenting. Actually thought this thread was funny, as I too laugh at all these dumb mocks.
  6. Goff is not...yet...an excellent QB. He doesn’t handle pressure well. Chicago showed the blue print and he and the Rams offense have not been the same since. He isn’t even in the top 7 of the best QBs in the NFL right now and may not even be top 10. Now he IS an excellent young QB, but he hasn’t reached the excellent overall QB pinnacle just yet. He needs to improve some things to take that step towards being an excellent QB.
  7. *crickets* ... *crickets*... *crickets* ”This thing on...?” Audience: “......”
  8. I love the Super Bowl. Friends. Party. Gambling. Food. Booze. Commercials. ...and no stress on who will win since Bills are never in it. Whats not to love? GO BILLS!
  9. I would be excited about this draft, however, if it did fall this way and we went OL and WR...with our 2nd pick in the second round I would certainly grab Hockenson or Ximines (EDGE rusher I love) over another WR. This is a deep WR class, there will be guys who fall into the 3rd and 4th rounds. Also, lets say we do trade down (I have mocked this myself as I think we will trade down with Washington). With 10 picks plus what we net in a trade down which will be at least a 2nd and possibly even an additional pick (between rounds 3 and 5) we would sitting on 11 or 12 picks. I doubt Beane wants to draft that many players, so I would think Beane would look to move some picks around to move up to get a guy. I dont think its out of the question to see Beane package our 3rd and one of our 4ths to get back into the 2nd round for a THIRD prospect in the 2nd. Or even both our 4ths to get back into the 3rd for a 2nd time. I feel like Beane will use that draft capital to move around for someone he covets. For instance, if BOTH Hockenson and Ximines (Who I really think is a McD and Beane type target) were there in the 2nd, I could easily see us drafting one and then trading up to get the other. I even mocked both guys to us in my 4 round mock that involved the same trade down...except I had us moving up into the bottom of the first to take Hockenson.
  10. Teams make madness like moves though for QB's, especially poorly run organizations. Washington has a history of poor and aggressive decisions and I do not think they are run well. So I do believe right now that they could move up, and even over pay to do so to get ahead of Denver and Miami. But hey, its early in the draft process, we won't really start getting a feel for how QB's will start shaping up in terms of where they may go until after Free Agency reveals where the vets will land and also how these QB's fare in the combine. If the QB's fizzle, there certainly won't be much of a trade up market for them.
  11. I am still skeptical that Jones is a lock to be on the roster week 1 next year. For me, it depends on how many WRs they bring in via FA, Draft or possibly via trade. If we add only one more this offseason, then sure, I can buy the fact that he is most likely going to be on the roster week 1 and likely play the slot role. However, if we add 2 or 3 relevant WRs between now and the Draft, then I think Jones roster spot is in a shaky position and very much on the hot seat to be here week 1 next year. There just isnt anything Zay excels at so far. He isnt getting separation on his routes consistently, he is frequently getting man handled by physical corners, he doesn't have elite speed, he doesn't have consistent hands, and he isnt good at making contested catches. Foster already surpassed Zay on the depth chart. Then if you we add a relevant WR in FA (like Tate, Humphries, Williams, Funches, etc) Zay is suddenly likely 3rd on the depth chart and competing for that spot with newly signed Duke Williams (who could also contend to start once camp opens). Now add in a rookie we take high in the draft like Harry, Deebo, Butler, Brown, etc and suddenly Zay is fighting to even get on the field. If our WR room looks like this: Relevant FA WR, Foster, Rookie early in draft, Zay and Duke: Then Zay's role on this team to me is in jeopardy. If they add even one more additional relevant WR to that mix, then that would tell me Zay would most likely be on another roster come Week 1. Zay should be watching Free Agency and the draft VERY closely to see both who we add and how many we add. I was high on Zay when we drafted to him, so hope he proves me wrong.
  12. Lol, 90%? Not sure what video you are watching. And you clearly also missed watching his QB practically under throw him on the regular because his QB sucks. So I am not convinced yet he struggles with separation. This is where the combine will really start to shape the WR group. If he Runs the 40 around 4.5 then I think he will be first WR taken.
  13. Yeah, I am in the “mocks don’t matter” crowd myself, so never put too much stock into them. But really just did this to have a reference on how things shift after each stage of the offseason. Free agency and combine will make significant chnges to everyone’s mock, so like you said just something to pass the time and see how things change along the way.
  14. All fair points, and don’t really disagree with anything here. My mock is based on the demand for Murray being top 10. Which is why this is a pre combine mock, lots will change in general once combine as well as free agency settles.
  15. I certainly could be wrong and you and Albany make fairpoints. Last year though I was one of the few that said Giants and Denver were definitely not taking a QB and everyone kept telling me no way on that too. I think people are over valuing Smith in Washington who was under performing when he got hurt. Cowboys and Eagles already got a young QB and nucleus. Giants got Saquan and OBJ and will likely draft a young QB this year. Redskins have very little to be optimistic offensively about when Smith comes back and he’s a solid QB but not someone to build around. He was always supposed to be a stop gap to try and win now, but now his career is very much in doubt as they don’t know if he will ever play again right now. So looking up and down that division, Washington is going to start falling way behind if they just sit around and wait for Alex to come back, who will then be almost 2 years removed from football in his mid 30’s coming off a gruesome injury. Add in that he’s not exactly a guy to carry a roster and it’s even less appealing of a scenario. So I am just in the camp they will make a move this year for a QB. This way if they miss on who they take this year, Alex potentially is back in 2020 where they could look to draft another QB in 2020 or 2021 who at that point could groom behind Smith too a year. Hopefully I am right though as be nice to get the 2 picks. And don’t get me wrong, I’m still all for the trade down even if we get just the 2nd. But I do think the opportunity to get more than a 2nd is there and Beane is a witch
  16. I do agree Tyrod could be a Redskin this year, makes sense for TT too if the Redskins don’t draft a guy. But let’s also remember this is Alex Smith not Aaron Rodgers we are taking about here. He wasn’t lighting it up before he got hurt averaging just 1 TD per game. He’s gonna be mid 30’s coming off missing a year and a half of football, if he can even play again which is still in question. Redskins are gonna likely make a play for a QB this year in the draft IMO. But you over look something in your example of last year. Bills had to leap frog AZ to get Allen...we paid 2 seconds, an over pay by value chart. But we paid it because we had to in order to get the QB they coveted. If a guy Wash covets at QB is there at 9, they will pay the premium too which is cheaper than what we paid last year to move up only 5 spots to get Allen. So again, I think you are under estimating what we can get. Bears gave up a bounty to go up 1 spot to get Trubisky. Teams over pay to ensure they get the QB they want all the time and by a lot more than a couple hundred value points that we are talking about here. Not guaranteeing we get more than a second, but I think it’s very possible in this scenario. All good, we shall find out soon enough
  17. I toyed with this exact scenario to be honest. I had one version where I had us taking Risner at 15, trading up for T.J. then taking Butler in the 2nd. What stopped me, was 2 things. I didn't want to over value the senior bowl and move Risner too far up before the combine. Want to see more from him before I move him top 15 even though I do think he is looking like a potential first round pick fresh off all this buzz. And secondly, with Josh being so young and the OL being so bad, I have a feeling OL is going to be a spot we are most active in Free Agency on. There are not a lot of exciting offensive playmakers in Free Agency this year IMO, so I feel like they are going to carry higher grades and more weight on Beanes board come draft time. Its hard to do one this early before Free Agency and Combine, so many variables. But had to start somewhere
  18. I get what you are saying, but according to the "value chart" we way over paid too last year. Washington NEEDS to get ahead of two likely teams picking between 10 and 14 that look like they may go QB. And that is Denver at 10 and Miami at 13. Just like the Bills NEEDED to get ahead of Arizona last year if we wanted Josh Allen and "over paid" according to the draft chart. So I really do think its reasonable that we could get both a 2nd and a 3rd out of Washington. If someone like Denver or Miami wants to move up to our spot to block the others out, maybe we dont get the extra 3rd. But Washington is trading up 6 spots for a QB and needs to get in front of 2 other teams who could very well also go QB. That makes our spot a premium price, and for that, paying a couple hundred more points than the draft value chart is not only reasonable, but IMO likely. Furthermore, Washington owes Alex Smith a lot of money for 3 more years, they really need to look at the draft for a QB because they aren't going to want to pay for one of the better FA options this year while also paying Smith. Now if there was no real threat of someone taking a QB between us and them, we would have less leverage and I would think a 2nd is about right. We also have 10 draft picks, we dont HAVE to trade down, so Washington is going to need to entice us IMO and Beane is also a trading witch. Same guy who got Cleveland to give us the first pick in the 3rd round for a QB despite these facts: - Cleveland was taking QB in the first 4 picks. - Buffalo was going to draft a QB and likely cut Tyrod. - Most of the posters on this board thought he wouldnt fetch anything better than a 6th round pick or worse. So I think the starts have aligned for us in a perfect trade down scenario with Washington to get above average value.
  19. Yes, I love Ximines....my main worry is that he may not be under the radar enough come draft time to fall to us in the 3rd.
  20. Hahaha, yeah I can tell. There were 2 guys I struggled with mocking, and that was Cody and Taylor. Mocks are all over the map on these two...both show up as one of the first OL off the board, if not the first and they both show up often in the 2nd round. I honestly dont really dive deeper into OL until the combine, so this was a combo of moving some other guys up from recent senior bowl buzz and also kind of a wish list for me that he slides because I love versatile OL guys who can move around the line and play at a high level. I could see one of either Cody, Taylor, Dillard, Risner, or even Little being on the board mid 2nd round still. Every year there is always some OL that at this time of year seems like a first rounder that slides there as other players move around the board at all positions post combine. I think the deep WR class is going to see a run at WR later first and early 2nd and push at least one of these guys down. Hard to say today who it is though.
  21. All good, and as I mentioned earlier he was the toughest one for me to mock there. Only moved him down because I think he better projects as a guard and there will be some tackles that leap from him like Risner and Dillard come draft time. Combine I am sure will start really sorting out the OL group more, as a whole its pretty all over the map along with WR this year. I can certainly see that happening too, especially Risner who seems like a perfect mutual fit. I also did this mock under the assumption we did some FA work on the OL already heading into the draft. I feel like they want some veteran help to on the line for Josh. This is why its V1 right now because I want to see how some of these guys do at the combine. I dont want to over react though on Risner off just the Senior Bowl, so I want to see him at combine before I feel like he can be a top 15 pick.
  22. Ford was a tough one for me as I had him originally going in the bottom of the first and us taking Risner in the 2nd. The only reason I went Ford is because the other 2 guys I liked there are buzzing hard after the Senior Bowl and might push him down as they rise up. And that was Risner like I said and Dillard. Honestly, there are a few guys who could fall here, but went Cody for now as some of the other guys have some fresh buzz to be rising up.
  23. Yeah he could be, and I can also see us trading up higher than 27. If we trade down, we likely have 12 picks and I doubt Beane will sit on them. So we could move a little higher to get Hockenson too, but I like the Raiders being open for business on a trade down. We could also take the other Iowa TE there in Fant too if Hockenson is gone, or target OL there too. I just think they want some veteran help on OL out of FA too to quickly stabilize the line, so I think another playmaker would be a likely target in a trade up.
  24. Yes, this is pre combine version, and the WR's are all grouped together in the top 7 so someone mocked early could easily fall to the 2nd, and vice versa. I honestly believe there are 7 WR's who all have a shot at being first WR drafted before we go to the combine. I went with Harry now because I think he is fast enough, and he has just an insane catch radius and is a big strong guy who can go get those Josh Allen passes.
