  1. I don't think no one is asking this, there is an ongoing investigation. There is a difference in their responsibilities though, with the UNC's only role there to be to protect the player from himself and the team.
  2. The Team Doctor may still face some reprimand, but the UNC's whole role there is to be independent and protect the player from himself, and they obviously failed. That, and the NFLPA doesn't have any authority to fire the team Dr., they can only do that to the UNC.
  3. Well, he did retire. Just like she slowed her pace of work, and now she wants to work more, and for him to take care of the kids. It's clear they had some sort of arrangement when he retired that she could go back and work more and he would be more involved at home. It seems reasonable to me, not sure why his job is more important (other than misogyny.)
  4. For everyone remembering Prince's play to help us close out that game, let's not forget Zimmer's play to close out our last victory in a one score game. https://www.nfl.com/videos/justin-zimmer-punches-ball-from-cam-newton-for-clutch-bills-turnover
  5. He's already had his career, he's known as the best QB of all time and turned that into a lucrative TV analyst gig where he only has to work one day 18 weeks a year.
  6. I think this has more to do with Emili having already used two of his call ups, along with Zimmer getting healthy than anything Emili did wrong.
  7. https://www.foxbusiness.com/lifestyle/tom-brady-thanks-gisele-for-putting-career-on-hold This isn't me speculating, this is Brady saying it in an interview.
  8. Does the same not go both ways? His wife put her career on hold for a decade to take care of their family, and decided it was her turn to go pursue what she wanted.
  9. I think I read he had over 80% share of snap count this week, so seems like they are getting the message. I think Singletary is playing well, I would love to see them try to get Cook some carries, and let him get into some rythym as well.
  10. Seriously, you don't think we win that Miami game if not missing Mitch Morse, Greg van Roten (his backup), Ryan Bates, Spencer Brown, Ed Oliver, Jordan Phillips, Micah Hyde, Jordan Poyer, and others?
  11. Before the season that the below players had missed games (or big chunks of games) in weeks 1-4, what would you expect our record to be at this point (against Rams, Titans, Dolphins and Ravens) Tre White (1st 4 games at least) Ed Oliver (multiple games) Micah Hyde (out for season after game 2) Gabe Davis (1 game, other games played but still impacted) Dane Jackson (multiple games) Christian Benford (multiple games) Jordan Poyer Mitch Morse Greg Van Roten (when starting for Morse) Spencer Brown (in same game as Morse was out) Ryan Bates (in same game as Morse was out) Tommy Doyle (in same game as Morse and Spencer Brown was out) Isiah McKenzie and Jamison Crowder (both in 2nd half of the same game) Edited to add Jordan Phillips (multiple games) Tim Settle Jake Kumerow (1 game so far, looks like more coming) Xavier Rhodes (who had been signed to replace Jackson / Benford but got bit by the Buffalo Defensive Backfield Curse of 2022) The Bills have weathered some very bad injury luck through the 1st four weeks, and hopefully should be getting some reinforcements soon. Just typing this all out (I probably missed some players also) made me feel grateful to be sitting at 3-1 going into this week's game.
  12. They usually don't practice the day after a game, if they take him off the list he can practice Wednesday (as mentioned by Beck Water below Wednesday is usually the first practice day of the week.) BTW, Ike Boettger also started the season on PUP, and it sounded like he wouldn't have a chance to come off the list or practice until much later in the season (if at all this year.)
  13. https://theathletic.com/3454626/2022/07/28/nfl-pup-list-faq/ What are the reserve/PUP list rules? A player can receive this designation if he’s still on the active/PUP list by the time teams cut training camp rosters down to 80 players, which will be by Aug. 23 this year. A player doesn’t count toward the roster limit once shifted to reserve/PUP. Teams have until rosters are cut down to 53 players, which is Aug. 30 this season, to move a player to reserve/PUP. The player has to remain on the reserve/PUP list for at least the first four regular season games (Oct. 3 or 4 this season), which is new this season. Once a player leaves the reserve/PUP list, he has up to 21 days to return to the 53-man roster. He can practice with the team until he’s taken off the list. If the player still isn’t able to play in games after the 21-day span, he’ll stay on the reserve/PUP list for the rest of the season.
  14. It's written a little awkwardly, but read it again - The 21 day window can start anytime after the first 4 weeks of the season, it doesn't automatically start after 4 weeks.
  15. Re: the 21 days - that starts when he starts practicing, at which point he'll be taken off PUP but not added to the roster. After that we have 21 days to add him to the active roster. Still, my guess is he'll be practicing this week (probably tomorrow is the first practice?) and I am sure we'll hear it right away.
  16. I believe it's supposed to be where the ball crosses the plane of the out of bounds line. I will agree that it's confusing - I've never actually seen a player get called out of bounds with the ball out of bounds but the feet in - not sure if the player's body has to touch out of bounds in order for it to actually be out of bounds?
  17. I think understanding why the rules are the way they are is an important piece of the conversation. The rule is that two feet have to touch in bounds for a completed pass (but where the ball is doesn't mattter) because who wants the referees making a judgement call on if the ball is in bounds? It would also probably lead to fewer catches / less offense. As far as ball placement when the ball is extended out of bounds, it adds some incentive for a player to stay in bounds if they need to gain extra yardage (e.g for the first yesterday.) I suppose you could just have the rule always be where the ball is when the players body touches out of bounds, but you will have less contested plays along the sideline. The rule as it stands is similar to the goal line rule - once the ball crosses the plane of the line, that's where it is out.
  18. Actually when scoring the ball is not supposed to be outside the pylon
  19. I noticed yesterday the referees in the offensive backfield were calling nothing (I don't think we had any holds called against our line, right?) and the guys on the defensive ball were much more likely to call defensive holding, PI, etc... (although they still let them play, and a few close calls where the DB got there early they let go.)
  20. Yes, if need be. Hodgins, Shakir and Hodgins should be able to beat the Steelers (heck, sure throw in Tavon Austin and let him run some deep routes.) If Davis feels he can go, he can be active and used if needed. But he's definitely going to be needed against KC next week, and what he's given us the last two weeks isn't going to do it against the Chiefs.
  21. 1. The Steelers just lost to the Jets at home, they're very bad. 2. Davis has not looked comfortable, he's not getting open, and he's dropping balls / not making contested catches. He doesn't look good enough to play right now, so let him get back to full health and see if the young guys can make enough plays.
