  1. I think that might be going too far, because he spoofs himself as a race baiting blowhard all the time. He is no Sully though, who is of the 'current/past' generation, that's for sure!
  2. If you don't already you should listen to Lebatard. This is one of the main tenants of everything he does on his radio show. Entire show is a spoof on sports radio.
  3. Thanks for the detailed breakdown!!!
  4. How much does the Jets win hurt? Assuming Bills win out including week 17 against the Jets.
  5. You can make a ton more money playing baseball though. Could football's key to survival be that it isn't played all year long, like baseball and basketball, so the cost of developing the players is more heavily the responsibility of the school districts than the families. Elite go to elite camps over the summer, sure, but I'm sure you get scholarships for that.
  6. Absolutely, but what about their moms? What if the general perception shifts and football isn't seen as an appropriate suburban and urban sport, and is relegated to both really densely populated areas with real low per capita income, and really rural areas, where cost of living is low so, a little goes a long way. What if Lebron played football? What if TO played basketball? Shoot, what if Hogan played lacrosse? Pegula should of brought a basketball team back to Buffalo or Rochester before investing that much in a sport that has substantial risk (especially at that price). Happy he did of course. A 19 year old is definitely going to feel invincible, but they are more going to feel guided by their friends to play a more glamorous sport. Also, don't discount a kid's morality...they are hitting the kids who will later have head injuries, and they are hurting future loved ones. Thinking lacrosse has a chance to get big actually. Played for a long time, and the sport has surprisingly few head injuries from my experience and is a ton of fun, with really good college scholarship opportunities.
  7. If I told you you could live till you were 90, but the last 10 of those years were in a near vegetative state, the last twenty in severe pain where any kind of movement hurts, and the last fifty (since you were forty) you are a complete jerk to everyone around you. Literally having crazy intense mood swings over truly nothing, where your family has no idea if you will straight up murder them, because it's that bad and they watch the news and others with CTE have done that, and even more have killed themselves. Would you sign up for that at 19 fully knowing the future? Would you sign your future family up for that? Seriously, would you?
  8. That should have been a late hit on Tyrod, and that's where hurt his shoulder too.
  9. The Wiz, what I'm trying to say is if you cut the super bowl audience down to 10% the advertisers aren't paying that amount for the ads. Basically, if they show a super bowl ad in the forest, does anyone see it? The answer is no, there is nothing to show because it doesn't get made.
  10. First pretty sure the non profit status was revoked this summer, anyway it's only related to the league office, which is pennies and forces them to disclose executive compensation. Second, I would say at least half of the people who currently watch the super bowl, if not more, only watch for the commercials and halftime show. A huge reason you can charge so much for those ads is because you are getting such a crazy diverse demographic watching a single show for three hours...that never happens. They would easily lose 75% of their audience (I wouldn't pay unless the Bills were in the game), and probably 90% of the their non standard demographics. Plus people watch the super bowl at parties...
  11. Super interesting, thanks for sharing!
  12. Beat ya to it Mangled that quote, but that game was clearly the sound of street cats making love toward the end. Huge win though, extra rest before the Pats too...
  13. Oh it looks like rain, the rain is surely gonna come
  14. Nah, think using a different word for it is giving it a free pass. Call it what it is. Race is just an arbitrary classification of combined characteristics, and treating someone poorly because of one of those characteristics, be it skin color, gender, religion, sexual orientation, hair color, etc is racism. Otherwise it's a bit like people in the 1700 saying they weren't racist because slaves were property not people. Empathy, humility and passion it where it's at, and people who forget that will wake up one day, realize the world has turned and now they have some arbitrary physical characteristic they have no control over and they will understand the true nature of racism, be it skin color, or being left handed, or having a disability. Anyway, speaking out classification, that qbr does not do the best job! Does it do better with a season's worth of data?
  15. You going for funny there? Cause it just makes you look like a racist piece of sh$t...but don't worry, not going to explain it to you. Let me guess, you're one of those people who think anti bullying campaigns are the pc police gone wild.
  16. We thank you Dr. Dareustein...very cool s/n!
  17. Let's not forget the public is also paying for these stadiums...double whammy
  18. What happened to the posts between 5 & 7:30?
  19. Terrorist! Those words lead me to think you might be a terrorist, or at least an enemy combatant, which means a secret court can grant a warrant to review your internet searches and phone calls from the last however long they have been being stored in that server farm I'm Utah. Fourth amendment is literally shredded, but instead of people getting angry about it we support our Troops (notice the capital T,the individual troops make huge sacrifices, I'm talking about the support for the military industrial complex which is really the propaganda we are being fed), and get all riled up about fringe issues, like gun rights, immigration, gay marriage, abortion, welfare. All those issue are really important, but we are so set to have hot takes, and instant solutions that we lose the bigger point...those problems are complex, and the only way to solve them is to agree that they need a complex solution, that focuses on the cause and not the symptoms. Back to military buying spots at sporting events. They get a discount and preferential access to those spots (walmart would love to sing the national anthem I'm sure, and I mean really walmart, because corporations are people, haven't you heard?), and the it's no coincidence they are involved in the opening ceremonies of games. It's simple behaviorism, people are happy at the start of games, they see the military while having good feelings, and next time they see something military, they get happy feelings. Propaganda 101.
  20. 6-44 in his last fifty games!
  21. You're basing a dt's, who is playing in a two gap system, contribution to a defense on tackles and sacks? I'm down in south Florida and listen to a lot of sports radio. The good ones (read non-wgr types), leroy horde and le batard in particular are not blaming Suh, he's doing his job, which is what is being asked of him. It is interesting though how he had so much success in Detroit, playing under Schwartz's line up and attack scheme...parallels the Bill's lines lack of production in counting stats a bit.
  22. Yup you are so right. Segregation, sicking dogs on people (man i wish it wasn't so pc today so i could really say what you would love to hear...not the word per se, not calling you racist, but the lack of pc that word would symbolize that you so openly cheered in your post), women being forced to be impregnated and having no opportunity to leave the home because that was a man's world, etc etc etc...those were great times, we should all be so proud! You know what happened to your great tough men? They got the internet and realized that the macho tough act they saw modeled all around them was really just a way of being controlled, and we realized everyone deserved to be treated with the exact same level of respect and dignity we expected to receive. I genuinely respect you and your grandfather, and only hope that you think a bit about what your words represent. I also ask that you respect the people who are literally killing themselves years before they would die otherwise for your entertainment, and not call those people weak or lacking toughness.
  23. Shula not providing Marino with a running game is probably biggest reason they never won a Super Bowl. Also, when you say 'bunch of girls' I can't help picturing you with your arms crossed on your chest, stomping your foot into the ground with a pouty face. That being said, dline definitely not looking great, but Dareus looked pretty good a lot of plays.
  24. You sound like a ton of fun to be around!
