Personaly, i think the Bills resign Bell and find a good veteran interior guy that can play center FIRST and gaurd second. This would give you 3 tackles, 2 of which can play LT (Hairston and Bell) and Pears was an average to good starter at RT. The problem was when injuries started pilling up, the Bills had no one to replace the guys that went down. First and foremost center. Rhinhardt and Urbik can both play RG. Levitre is a stud at LG. Dont draft OL early. Can't believe i am saying that either. But maybe find a guy in the 3-5 rounds that is a quality young center. If Woods keeps having injuries, you got your guy of the future. Get the defense a pass rusher and LB help. Heck even make a splash in FA and get Bowe at WR. I know, it will never happen. drafting a LT now seems like a CJ spiller pick with no style even.

Why not, seems like the Giants do it every year. They only are a constant playoff contender, and play in a SB every 6-7 years. -
Trader Bill Polian and son available
atlbillsfan1975 replied to BillsVet's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The manning draft pick was also on that was heavily debated in the draft room. Up until the day of the draft Polian and his staff were going back and forth on manning and leaf. Just think how Polian would be regarded if he had drafted Leaf? All you have to do is look at Indy this year with out Manning to see how well of a GM the Polians are. The GM is also in charge of FA, Indy is horrible with out Manning, no way one player should make that much of a difference. Just look at NE when Brady went down. It is also why you see guys from the NE tree being hired elsewhere and not the Indy tree. -
Look, the difference of 7 or 16 seems like a lot on paper, and i am sure in April some good guys will go off the board between 7 and 16. There will also be pro bowlers picked in the second third and fourth and so on... Point being win today if you can, always root for your team to win. And think about it this way even, the Bills have messed up a lot of top 10 picks,so just having the 7th pick doesnt mean you will get a great player. I know that is negative but seriously. To me unless you have one of the top 5 picks, you start to see a vast degree of uncertainty in a player panning out. or living up to his draft status

Because Easley has shown he can stay healthy? And he has proven squat,
-
Because they dont want to come to Buffalo(Tyson Clabo) or the FO doesnt make a move for them. Even Barnett, the Bills best off-season move, was a castoff from GB and signed after many of the so called 'elite' lb's were gone.

Who are the core players on this team?
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nice article and stats. Basically says that McKelvin is the typical all or nothing type of DB. While he has been burnt for some big plays he has also made some big stops. When you compare him to Greer he doesn't look so great. But McKelvin is progressing, albeit slowly and not what you want out of a round 1 pick. But i think it would be foolish to let the guy go now, when he is showing signs of being a good DB. Also the Bills might be able to benefit from him not having a totally succesful earl career, and sign him to a managable contract for 3 more years. Oh and he is only 26 his prime should be for atleast another 3-4 years. -
He should be resigned over the off season. No question about it. If you look at the Bills he is one of the few high draft picks that has performed as of late. Once he figured out his new role in the switch to the 3-4 or whatever the heck it is the Bills run, he has been very solid. He is a ball hawk who is not afraid to mix it up if needed on blitzes or run d.
-
He signed a one year deal before the season with San Fran for $3.5mil. He is 6'3 225, He attributes his poor play this year to an injured knee(which he had mid-season surgery on) and a banged up shoulder. If you could sign him for league min plus some incentives, would you do the deal?

Oh No -- we've lost an Assistant Coach

Hopefully it means he saw and heard that after the season the entire D Staff is gone. -
Thursday night game - game over already
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Fixxxer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
POZ looked the same to me. Racks up tackles, but has zero instincts and runs into blockers and can't get off them. The falcons shredded the Jags on the run. I think the Falcons did finally figure it out, like the guys where saying after the game on t.v. Matt Ryan is a perfect game manager, with a lot more ability then say a Trent Dilfer. But by no means is Ryan in the same league as a Manning, Brady, or Rodgers, and dont think he ever will be. If Chan could try the same approach with Fitz, the results might be better. -
so he goes out and spend roughly 5% of his salary in one night. I bet a lot of guys are into their agents for money. I mean borrowing based off future earnings(or potential earnings) Its probably a way the agent keeps the player loayl to them.

Offense got exposed...AGAIN!!!!
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I will ask again, WHY DOES CHAN GO TO NO RB ON EVERY SHORT YARDAGE SITUATION???? This is completely mind boggiling. Fred Jackson is the most consistent player on the Bills. Chan doesnt line him up in the backfield to atleast keep the D honest??? I understand it worked sometimes early in the season. Even then i did not like it. But now defenses have seemed to learn how to stop whatever the Bills are doing. IF Chan is a great offensive innovator he needs to see this is not working anymore. I know i am pulling a needle out of the haystake of defeciences. But this is ridiculious. -

atlbillsfan1975 replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why does Chan like the empty back field so much in short yardage and inside the 10? I mean half this thread is spent talking about how the Bills are thin at WR. IF Freddie is our best player, why not atleast line him up in the backfield? I have seen very little play action. -

They Jills are not ugly by any means. I think any of us single guys on this board would go out with any of them. Except for you faires that keep posting that Peter Pan dude!( and suckering me on it, damn it!) You get what you pay for. If true, $50 a game is nothing. Add onto it that you get maybe 3-4 games of good to decent weather, 2 games of bad weather and 2 games of horrible weather. For girls in scantily clad attire thats not too enticing. Know that the Jills that are out there are probably, for the most part, real fans of Buffalo. the team and city. -
I will see your McGee and raise you a Byrd. Two for him as well.
-
I hear you. An dyou are correct. IF, and god i hope so, the Bills beat the crap out of Rex, i think it is th ebegining of the end for him. His personality is good while he wins. If they go in the tank, wont be long before his butt gets the boot. His shananigans are only funny while he wins. Then they just become more of a reason to hate on him, for the fans and media of the Jesters

Updated: Levitre extremely limited
atlbillsfan1975 replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Did anyone watch Inside the NFL last night? Gailey giving his speech after the game? i am pretty sure it was Levitre standing next to Scott in the back ground. Very opposite ends of the spectrum as far as football physiques go. Ha -
I agree that right now Jackson is a much better runner the CJ. But if i know that so does Rex. He is going to try and clog the running lanes big time. Bills are going to have to use short crossing patterns and slants to move back the Lbs and thus let Fred get going. CJ and Fred in the game at the same time would be great to see. If CJ could catch a pas in stride over the middle, i would love to see him in a footrace.

Scott Norwood to be in attendance on Sunday
atlbillsfan1975 replied to SHOUTBOX MONSTER!'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You make your own mojo. Good luck is usually the result of hard work and preperation. But god forbid the Bills lose on Sunday by a missed field goal. Fans will all want to blame Scottie -
Chan is a no non sense guy. having said that he also isn't pissed at stevie. I can assure you he knows how valuable Stevie is to this team.
