Why We're Heading In The Right Direction
atlbillsfan1975 replied to HuSeYiN1978's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly!! How many years would we as fans be going into FA having to watch our best FA sign with someone else?? Atleast this year we have decided to circle the wagons and keep one of our own...and at the right price! -
who is your Homer Pick the 2012 draft
atlbillsfan1975 replied to EldaBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Me to, if he is there after the second, trade your third and one of your fourths/fiths to grab him. To me he is a guy Gailey could have fun with. Line him up tight or flexed. He will create miss matches. Good athlete. -

No someone will trade up a pick or two ahead of Buf and steal him if he lasts till then, ala Keller and the Jets from years ago. -
We aren't targetting big name FAs?
atlbillsfan1975 replied to ndirish1978's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
God no. Take a tackle. If you are telling me you like Floyd because of how he looked running around in his under pants, i do not like it. Take a wr in the fourth. I think Gailey believes he can turn a somewhat talented/hardworking wr into a stud. I for one agree. -

Big UGA fan. I think Orson Charles is a TE that will have a great pro career. Put him in the right offense, and this kid will succeed. -
Why We're Heading In The Right Direction
atlbillsfan1975 replied to HuSeYiN1978's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
CJ? When he was th efocused back he stepped up. Carrington has been asked to play 3 different positions in two different schemes. And put on 20-30lbs. He has shown flashes of being solid. Lets see how he does if allowed to play his natural weight at his natural position(DE) this year. And Troup got hurt last year. In what would have been his second season. How about today we stay positive? I mean Buddy did just re-sign SJ for a contract we thought SJ SHOULD sign, but would not. -
Why We're Heading In The Right Direction

I agree. This deal could be a building block for the Bills being seen as a more legit franchise. Signing a good player to a fair contract. I like what Buddy is doing. 2-3 more of these types of FA signings(like Barnett from last year), and a draft as good as last years, and the Bills are back on the map. -
For the first time in a while, I'm not pissed off.
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Lv-Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why would they not be? Bills re-signed a good player for a fair contract. How many times has that happened in the last 12 years? -
Out of those 1) do not think Bell resigns here. He is best LT in a weak FA class. ie...someone will over pay and look past his injuries. So draft LT in round one. Like to re-sign Chandler for around $3-4mil 2) Signing Abraham to a 2 year deal for $4mil base and could reach $6-7mil based on staying healthy and production(sacks) 3) VJ is gonna take around similar numbers just paid to Stevie. $7-8. I think the Bills had $35mil to spend. With these numbers plus SJ you would be right around 24-26mil. Which should leave money for drafted players. That $35mil does not include any other players Bills may release. DE- Edwards Someone correct me if wrong on the $35 mil and needing roughly $9-10mil for drafted guys.

Seahawks re-sign Marshawn Lynch

has the 'conditional' pick already been awarded to Buffalo for the Lynch trade? -
Bills to be more aggressive in free agency
atlbillsfan1975 replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I know Abraham is Old but he has 'situational pass rusher' written all over him. 15-20 snaps a game. The guy is in great shape at 34.Has not been injury plagued. Would be an instant upgrade over any DE the Bills have this year and probably next. He brought it the last two years. Teams will use his age for only signing a two year deal. And Biermann fits Wanny's high intensity profile. Either one of those guys would be great. -
Bills to be more aggressive in free agency
atlbillsfan1975 replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I love the SJ signing for so many reasons. First and foremost, the Bills did not overpay him. This helps set the tone for some possible other FA. The belief, by many, has been that the Bills have to 'overpay' for a player to come to Buffalo. They did not w SJ and he showed some loyalty to the Bills by not testing FA. Showing some of the other soon-to-be FA, Buffalo is a great place to play. I think Nix is a WISE old man. He has probably over paid for things in his life, like many of us have. I do not think he will over pay. No, i do not think they will make a play for Mario Williams, sorry. But they will find the 'Nick Barnett's' of FA...and that aint bad, is it? -
Would anyone franchise Bell?
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
you are 100% correct and i think we all agree with you. The problem is that this is a very weak FA Tackle class. So by default some team will most likely pay Bell baised on the fact that when healthy he has been good. They will, for the most part, over look the fact he has an injury history. Buffalo will not, and i am sure they have made him a fair offer. Its up to Bell to accept it or not. -
Sounds like it is a deep year for Tackles and not so deep for DE's We all remember the '83 QB class.

with the 10th pick do we pass on Floyd?
atlbillsfan1975 replied to EldaBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I just do not like taking a wr at 10. To me if you are going to take a wr in the first it needs to be in the top 5. A Calvin Johnson or Greene from Last year. A guy you know is going to come in and be a stud. Or is the final peice for your team. I also am skeptical to take a wr from ND. ND today is not what it was when Tim Brown came out. Sign Stevie. Let Bell walk if he wants crazy money, draft your LT for the next 10 years. The mid rounds(2-4) seem to have a lot of guys in our two other need area's, WR and DE. -
Got to agree, Unless you can tell me he is the next Revis...pass.

or a testament to a good franchise? I mean when you think about it how many other teams could do this, and get the same support? Steelers? -
Stevie Johnson Contract SIGNED
atlbillsfan1975 replied to iommi's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I saw today on Sports Center that the Steelers are maybe going to 'tender' WR Mike Wallace(i believe this was the team and player). Each team gets one 'tender offer'. Basically then it allows the team to get something in return for the player, and also allows them the ability to match an offer he gets on the market. Why no discusion of this for Stevie? And am i way off? -
I think Nix is on the same page as you as far a DE's go. Unless he is playing poker, i am getting the feeling the Bills will not take a DE at 10. Look for an OT at 10. I think the Bills have a rating, like all good franchises, for each player. Then they have a need evaluation...ie- DE 1, OT 1, WR 2,LB 2,TE 3, OG 3, etc. So if the best guy on the board is at an area of the highest need they grab him. In this example there can be two areas of 'highest need'. Thus you grab the higher rated OT then 'reaching' for a DE rated lower. Nix and Chan also have guys that are 'franchise or elite' guys. These are guys that if they fall to you for some reason you take them. Even though it is not a high area of need.

Carrington and Troup
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Buffaloed in Pa's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Pull no punches.... I do think Carrington has shown he can play. I hope he now had developed and adjusted to the speed of the NFL. I also got to wonder how difficult it is for a player to be on a D with so much turmoil? I mean they have been switching from 4-3 to 3-4 now back to 4-3. He himself has played 2-3 different positions. He has always done what is asked. If he can drop the 20, go back to his more natural weight, and play his more natural position, it stands to reason he will excel. Lets hope it is the case. -
Great another Kelsay? Kidding, but you are right i have never heard of him. i do watch a considerable amount of SEC football. Arkansas D was awfull, but he has decent numbers.

Are you ready for Wednesday Night Football?
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
as well it should be, atleast w the NFL i get what i pay for. Politicians, dems and rebs, screw us over all the time. The NFL allows me to feel like a kid for a few hours, the Politicians treat me like a kid, while robbing me blind. -
Can not tell if you are being sarcastic or not, but at this point Hill is just a prospect that put up good numbers at the combine. He has very pedestrian numbers for his career stats. So to me Hill is a gamble. Could be a work out wonder or could be a hidden gem. hardy was a a physical specimen ,tall good speed and good hands. But he never learned routes. How can you not say the same thing for Hill?
