How can we not be all in on Metcalf now?
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
...because he can’t cut or get open in short yardage? I’m asking for a friend. -
Chris Landry a long time NFL scout has a weekly spot here in Atlanta on a radio station. Landry basically said exactly what is happening a few weeks back. Teams just don’t want to give up picks and then have to work out a new deal like Brown is a FA. Brown’s age and personality also get factored in for sure. Kudos to Beane for taking a swing at it. Beane knows about Brown much more than I do. I am sure before Beane engaged in talks he had done some background on what Brown is really like. Brown is a tremendous talent no question about it. I had very mixed emotions when I first heard the news Brown could be coming to the Bills. I am going to put this scenario in the category of things happening(or not happening) for a reason.

Why not Eric Weddle for a year?

Because the Delorean is broke and we can’t go back to 2015. -
Nick Boyle may have set the FA TE market

There seems to be such a discrepancy between elite tight ends and then everyone else. This contract is very reasonable by salary cap numbers. Tight is one of the few positions were pay has not sky rocketed. -
Question. What is the opinion on G Wyatt Teller?
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So true. Almost every rookie has an adjustment period going from college to pros. Some it may take half a season others it takes two seasons. A player will typically get two full seasons if they show flashes of being able to make plays. Teller showed flashes last year he could play in the league. He needs to be more consistent this year. I would be surprised if the Bills didn’t bring in a center, guard, and a tackle through FA and or through the first three rounds in draft. They know they need starters on the line. -
Cool Detailed Analysis - Zay Jones

Slot receiver. Play him there and watch him flourish. -
Pass on Metcalf and give me this WR!

Ridley is going to be a stud. He will be drafted late first or very early second. Bills will need to trade down or back up. Anyone who has watched UGA games can tell you Ridley makes the tough catch and has ‘field speed’. -
Philly is letting Dtackle Jernigan test FA. Is he a fit? Hurt most of last year. Is he another Starr or more penetrating Dtackle?

Bills re-sign Jordan Phillips
atlbillsfan1975 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
$4mil or less is a win. Still think they draft a Dtackle early. -
Riley Ridley is Calvin Ridleys brother. Riley plays for UGA and is 6’3 205 and a ton of speed and talent. By draft day he could be sneaking into the first round. UGA just had so many talented guys and they run the ball. Look for Ridley and Nauta (te) to have much better pro careers than college. Nauta on the right team could be another Gronk.

Jordan Howard being shopped
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's a horrible thing to be. Freeman already is light and very injury prone because he runs so violently without size to back it up. Falcons messed that one up big time. Sign Coleman in FA if you want a back to compliment Shady. Draft a shifty back in the mid rounds in the draft who will replace Shady after this year. -
Jason Witten returning to play for Cowboys

I just hope he doesn't end up like Apolo at the hands of Drago! -
Jets pick #3 for sale
atlbillsfan1975 replied to IgotBILLStopay's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Gosh I hope so, the more quarterbacks picked in front of the Bills the better!! Bills will either end up with an elite Dlineman or Olineman. -
Proposed trade down with Carolina

Trade is fine. Don’t draft a TE in the first. -
Hearing Broncos will let Matt Paradis test FA
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Patriot Killa's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A veteran center in his prime who is good is gold for a young quarterback. IF you guys who know anything about Paradis think he is that, then this is a position I would love to see the Bills spend money on in FA and even ‘over spend’. It can’t be understated how be of an impact Alex Mack has made In Atlanta. Here’s to hoping Beane can find the Bills their pro bowl center. -
McBeane's Moves Now Are For 2020 Success
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I mostly agree with you OP. I do think Beane and McDermott want to see the playoffs this year. The difference between the Rams and Eagles vs the Bills is the division. The Rams and Eagles don’t play in the same division as Belichick and Brady. I agree that over spending on a Clay type deal for a new tightend is not something I see Beane doing. The way McDermott gets the most out of the talent he has, could mean a couple extra wins. Getting to the playoffs ‘hot’ could mean a run. I just want to see Allen healthy. Beane needs to build an oline now. Indy showed you can do it in a year and the impact it can have on a talented quarterback. -
No thanks. There are TE’s to be had later in the draft that could have similar impact. Isaac Nauta in the 3rd is a sleeper.

I wouldn’t go so far as to say all positions need an upgrade. 3 out of 5. I think Teller is going to stick and I also believe Dawkins belongs on the line, not sure he is a LT. Dawkins showed regression last season which could of been a product of not having Richie next to him. I look for Tellers improvement to help Dawkins. I’d like to sign Williams for RT and one other FA lineman then draft 2 more o lineman. Besides quarterback there is not one unit more important than o line. New England gets it. Draft and develop lineman. Sprinkle In a FA when necessary.

Could the Bill's end up with 2 first rounders?
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not me. Much rather have as many picks in the top 100. This staff has shown they can find players in the draft.
