This coaching staff keeps rookies on a very short leash.
I think Shakir and McKenzie’s snap count is getting closer to a 60/40. Maybe that leads to Shakir having a “breakout” game soon.
I had high hopes for him after the first two games. Last few he seems to really struggle being aware of where the ball is and getting his head around. Today he just looked a little out of position on some key plays. Hoping he can get it turned around.
Does any site keep a stat on defensive ranking on 3rd and long? Like to see if it’s just the Bills or the league in general. This D sure appears to give up a lot of 3rd and longs.
I think Hines has all the speed and elusiveness that McKenzie has on a bigger frame. McKenzie’s deal is much easier to get out of after this season than Hines’s contract. I believe the Bills see Hines as a punt and kick returner/gadget player moving forward.
I hear McD and Allen saying what a great teammate he is, this helped shed some light on what they mean. Seems like a positive, good person who understands the game. I like at the end where he says, “that’s one in Detroit, got to get another one”.
Compound it with the fact that the ref’s later called a face mask Against the Bills. That call involved a Brown player who wasn’t even the ball carrier.
