  2. Realistic "Transition Year" Expectations = Super Bowl !!!!
  3. I am pretty convinced there was a minor injury issue with Bass that lingered all year last year. He was never himself and the Bills were way more conservative using him than they have been in the past whereby anything within 55 they were willing to try. Then he missed kicks and I think his confidence dipped. Kickers are funny beasts year to year. They can have down years then rebound and be among the best in the league the next year. I think that is the Bills hope and if there was an injury niggle then I understand that thinking. But if he struggles in year next year they need to be willing to pull the chord in season.
  4. Really loved this interview! Was much more relaxed than his intro video after being drafted. Smart kid, respectful and wants to learn and be great. I wish this kid all the best!
  5. I think the standard practice on later year picks is #16 in the round after (i.e. right in the middle) but that is a very rough guide because in reality teams look at who they are trading with and try and guesstimate is this a team with a likely top 10 pick. Or a team with a likely bottom 10 pick etc.
  6. First things first. Pay the $ 8 a month to get the blue check mark on Twitter. Put this exact question on Twitter, with about 10 follow up questions each in a separate thread. Collect more than enough money from clicks to pay for your steak. For those that don’t know, people looking for engagement on twitter only post in questions that EVERYONE will have an opinion on, and that EVERYONE (me included) wants the world to know how smart they and will reply and otherwise engage with the tweet. I was a big sous vide guy for 2 inch plus steaks as well. But now that kids are gone and my fat ass is retired , I reverse sear on the Egg 90% of the time cause I gots the time to do it! Only time I sous vide a steak now is if I want to start directly from frozen. and yes, if I do sous vide, if just one steak for wife and me, I put the Egg grill grate right on top of the starter and sear there. I have actually just brought just that set up for small tailgates and do steaks for steak Sammy’s in the lot. No need to lug a grill. You and I sound like we are on a similar cooking journey. I do this as well now for tailgates. I know it’s blasphemy, but I am not a rib guy, so for tailgates mostly butts or brisket. But what I do different is instead of grilling again, I vacuum seal the brisket with some the liquid gold ( point and flat in separate bags) and then reheat in a hot pot of water at the tailgate. For the brisket, no doubt this method will result in a not crispy bark, but damn you can not tell that stuff did come of the smoker that day. Brisket I leave as whole as possible before sealing, pork gets sealed already pulled. Bonus is they can go from frozen as well, so can make your brisket for the home opener today if ya like! Ribs I agree on the grill way better way to reheat. I do this now for when we have people , takes the “ game day worry away”. All I have to time is getting the water to temp! But my question back to you. Do you smoke before the bath or after? I have always done after, but seems like that is split down the middle.
  7. Understand what you're saying, but any committee attempting to determine the "quality" of any given topic just seems kind of arbitrary. If a topic doesn't interest anyone, skip over it. Is a littler "clutter" on the board enough justification to adopt the draconian measure of limiting discussion to just one approved topic per day? To me, anyhow, answer is 'no'. As an aside, appreciate all the mods & contributors do - wouldn't want that task.
  8. It’s funny that the season started with some fans touting Bass as the best kicker in franchise history. Now people want him cut. Overreact much?
  9. Makes me wonder why Allen--or pretty much any QB since Kelly--isn't allowed to call plays beyond the occasional audible. I get it that the OC has eyes on the field and has resources spread out in front of him, but, as with Kelly and the K-Gun, letting Allen, say, suddenly go hurry up for a series and call his own plays could really put a defense on its heels.
  10. Today
  11. And there is not only culturally based intelligence but, as I think you are suggesting, there is football smarts which is its own thing. Jim Kelly got a 15 on the Wonderlic. At the time, my impression of him was that he was not a very bright guy. However, I heard a teammate talk about him and say that they were able to run the K-Gun the way they did because Kelly was super smart. He wasn't book smart...or probably even street smart...but football smart is its own thing.
  12. I do expect a bit of a dropoff, but I like this rookie class and we are set up for an even better draft next year. Our day is coming.
  13. I believe all drones are now required to be equipped with individual ID modules ( i own a DJI mini , below 250 gms and new laws require id transmission which is public info and its possible to walk right up to a drone user by using a well publicized app; hence drone owners are fearful of attacks from those not aware the air space is regulated by the FAA only. It’s relatively New legislation that was just recently activated after taking a couple years to pass ) , so the days of drones flying incognito are gone. The poster with his commercial license can prob verify this. Certainly , guys are trying things to get around this law., but anyone using drones to make income , even just posting on a YouTube channel , must be licensed and follow the required ID transmission or face large fines if caught and YouTube has lots of examples of drone users being heavily fined for noncompliance. It’s similar to medical board disciplinary action, ignorance is not an excuse. It has always been against the law to fly over stadiums in use, crowds, traffic etc. The less than 250 gm drones are fitted with 4k resolution cameras, and I’m not sure , but have not seen drones that small and low price range with great telephoto lenses , which would be the only way to film all 22 type film , as the operator would have to be no where close to being over a crowd like game or practice time. Plus if you modify those drones at all , they almost always then weigh more than 250 gm , and for example, if it goes down and local police confiscate and weigh it , it doesn’t matter that it originally was under 250 gms as they go by current weight and if the operator isn’t fully licensed, drone registered properly with the FAA, and now have the new ID transmission, the operator is in serious trouble. It has become really hard to just fly an unregistered drone as a simple hobby with all the regulation and all the KARENS out there causing everyone of spying on them and invading their privacy. It just seems weird or hard to believe this is some really prevalent issue for the NFL. The NFL must be experiencing some other issue , or facing enough large commercial drone operator numbers who would have the sophisticated cameras to capture all 22 type data from far away or just breaking existing laws to film, to be lobbying (buying senators) for additional regulation. Apparently billions of revenue just isn’t enough , and they will chase any $! With belicheck out of the league , it’s hard to fathom teams would be that desperate to be using drones illegally in large quantities just to gain an edge. This league and its owners are progressively getting more paranoid! With all the public paranoia, i rarely fly my DJI mini any longer; just not worth the hassle and if not being compliant with all the laws, you can now face fines of several thousand dollars. Local laws can already control where it is legal TO LAUNCH FROM, thus over stepping FAA air space control, so this just seems like classic NFL overreaction.
  14. Who owns that company? The plant in Genesee is a vaccume company that's actually owned by atlat copco. And they are owned by AB.
  15. Yea he was a kind of 1 year sticking plaster there for Carolina. Who until drafting Ekwonu (who also isn't the answer btw) had this crazy record of something like 8 different starting left tackles in 8 seasons. The 2015 offensive line was an anomoly for the Panthers. Mainly on the back of the two guards - Norwell and Turner - who they drafted the year before both having career years either side of Ryan Kalil. The tackles were Oher and Remmers (neither of whom were great and who both got smoked endlessly in the Superbowl) who just managed to hold up enough.
  16. Good news. That test is total bulls#!t
  17. Humble brag. Lol. They stopped giving the Wonderlic at the combine after 2021. I'm not sure if teams can give it to a prospect on a pre draft visit though.
  18. I just took a Wonderlic test with no prep and beaucoup mitigating factors and still scored a 41. It's a bogus, ethnocentric standardized test. If you score well you're probably smart, but if you don't score well, that does NOT mean you're not smart. It's more about cultural fluency. It's actually REALLY flawed and problematic, and not at all relevant to football.
  19. I didn't realize that Michael Oher ever played LT. I thought he only played RT which is a sign of what a disappointment his pro career was given the hype.
  20. He probably couldn't spell it.
  21. This refers to Darryl Talley? I've been watching Bills last 8 years only so want to make sure who do you mean.
