All I’m saying is that we don’t know if Hairston or Strong would have been good enough to start.

On Josh's flip to Ty Johnson, anyone else feel Johnson should of stayed closer to the 1st Down line? I didn't like the depth he took on that play; a 1st is vital and he's at least 5 yards further then he needs to be. I can understand the flip pass, it would of been a far harder throw on the run to not miss him wide left due to his forward momentum. -
Yeah, he probably singlehandedly cost Aaron Rodgers three Super Bowls. You want to see him attempt to double that jackassery with Allen? Actually you probably do, you no-good, rotten, sneaky sonofabltch!

We have the worst secondary and wide receiver groups in the league. And it is not even close. Our LB's as a group are pretty bad as well. That's on Beane. And the coaching staff. Its the same management team going into its 9th year. Many in the league have caught up to the Bills, and passed them with how they run their teams, and play the game. We look old slow and disinterested. We have wasted so many high picks in the Beane regime. And traded for has beens like Amari Cooper. These next two weeks will be very pivotal for this season. And beyond. You have to wonder how happy Josh is playing for an organization that seems like it has fallen way behind how the game is now being played.

Roster Support over the past three years (Beane)

Yup out of 16 players drafted these last 2 seasons, only 1 ( Walker) has had a good impact. That’s not only staggering but malfeasance. Unfortunately in hindsight the player I wish Josh had wanted was Justin Jefferson. -

Allen isn't allowed to sneak anymore; he's maybe done so twice all year. If Shakir doesn't tell Allen its iffy then I can't expect Allen to feel that urgency when their offense has been effectively told to play possession time versus effectiveness. -
.....He wouldn't be my first choice....but he's spent his entire career around elite QB's. There are worse options. I'd still call Cleveland and see what they'd want for Stefanski. Mike Shanahan, hadn't won anything of substance when was hired by Denver.....he'd been a good HC for the Raiders for a stint...

People were going bananas after his game Sunday. I watched a lot of that game. Maybe I'm just in denial. Still not seeing it. He's definitely skilled and has a great arm, but the play on the field isn't matching the hype, which is at a very high level.

I was at the saints game 7 rows up, after josh had that big run, he looked at the bills sideline and screamed "let's ***** go" but I noticed it wasn't his normal celebration yell, it was more of an angry "do something" yell at his team. I cant remember josh doing that before, it made me wonder how he feels about his team so far this year.

what the hell? we are reaching dysfunction

Please expound.

How about a system where you eat what you kill? Where are all the eye-roll and thumbs-down reactions to my original post now? Tonight just proved the point, we don’t have killers. This team lives and dies by whether Cook can break loose, and when you’re playing from behind, the run game disappears behind a below-average passing attack. Yes, the defense started out atrocious, but the offense lost this game. There were multiple chances to take control, and every one of them slipped away. Josh hasn’t looked right, outside of a few quarters, he just hasn’t been himself.

I was reading along interestedly until you went full nitwit. Never go full nitwit.

Again, no. Drake Maye played against 2 abysmal defenses. That's why he looked good.

Roster Support over the past three years (Beane)

I also think the issue is josh wants keon to be a thing so bad. People forget he told beane he liked keon and wanted him in the draft. I won't say the book is written but josh has given him a ton of back shoulder and red zone jump balls, what keon is supposed to be elite at and it hasn't produced much at all. -
They are both two of our Top 4 corners You can argue all you want; everything I typed is 100% accurate, regardless of who you consider "starters". Adding those two to the offense (along with Samuel) means more options and fewer mistakes; hopefully enough to overcome Brady's penchant for repeatedly outsmarting himself.
-
I would argue Walker is now the starter with Oliver now, with Jones and Sanders as backups. Coleman was meant to be Palmer is a third if their starters, as it’s just him, Shakir, and Coleman. Samuel is a rotation piece. We have no idea if Hairston was going to start. Strong was a long shot, and only was seeing action because Hairston got hurt and Tre is slow. I’ll give you the LBs, but when are they ever healthy? Relying on them is a sin. If your draft picks get hurt, while unfair, that tends to fall on the GM. And none of his top two picks from the last two years are doing anything. Now, with ALL of that being said, I’m more worried about the culture than the roster right now. Josh looks absolutely defeated. These guys are starting to quit and lose faith. We’ve seen way more injured teams play harder than this. I think McD and Beane might be at a crossroads, even when we get players back. But you also assume no one else will get injured, or injured again.

Sorry if I am bring up something that's in this thread already....or recently brought up elsewhere....but I think most of you know the stat that a HC and QB that have been together for more than 5 years and didn't get a Super Bowl win in those first 5 years, have never gone on to get one. McDermott deserves a TON of credit for being the HC that oversaw the development of Josh Allen. That was a big time high risk, high reward pick and he has seen it through to where Allen is an elite talent. ....but he's the wrong guy to take the Bills the rest of the way on the journey to a title. That's fine. It's also fine to recognize that is the case. The bills need a Mike Shannahan/John Elway type of combo. Dan Reeves oversaw Elways development into a star, but he was the wrong coach to build and coach that team to a title. Reeves was a very good coach, but his skill set wasn't a match for a fully developed Elway. Same with McDermott. The Bills need to get someone like Kevin Stefanski......yes, he is Clevelands coach....call and make that trade. Or maybe Mike McCarthy....

The O was a little more intact. Kincaid & Palmer being out definitely hurt, but it shouldn't result in the # of punts we saw tonight. I get what you're saying. But we're still lacking, even healthy.
-
No … Bills telling him “come at me “…
-
At one point tonight I looked on the field and was pretty sure I could see Andreesen, Cam Lewis, Poyer and Javon Solomon all at the same time. There is just no overcoming that level of attrition. I was amused it came on the first play of the game; as if Brady was trying to make some point. And Samuel has been so nicked up, it's easy to forget he's even on the roster.

What the Bills are missing right now

Well we did get a long ball out of Palmer tonight for once. Samuel is always hurt
