Seems like a bit too much panic right now
Low Positive replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree with all that. No one on here talked about it because we're a bunch of old men, but my son told me that the new "mature" Diggs went live on IG after the game to gloat. Pats coaches stopped him after a few seconds, but he's still the same petty dude. -
So watching the regular season with the league MVP at QB is nauseating unless there is zero competition from within the AFCE ? If you’re worried about the Patriots in the AFC then this team is really just a marginal WC contender.
-
If the Pats had any kind of tough schedule, I wouldn't worry about that at all. I mean, our schedule is pretty easy, but theirs is all kinds of soft. I'm curious how the next 3 go for them. Pretty easy on paper - but they did lose to the Raiders & Steelers, and came a couple of inches away from losing to the Phins. I think Vrabel (and Diggs) pulled out all the stops to get the win the other night, but I still think the Pats are pretty mid.

Once we beat NE I'll be over this one. Until then It will linger. I hate that team so much and I can't stand Diggs being the one who torched us. Where was that motivation when we played the chiefs? The dude is a me monster. I really feel like Josh gets rattled by him. -
You are obviously new to TBD. Any loss, at any time, is a reason for Panic. There can never be enough panic; that's how we deal with emotions. It helps keep us balanced from when we overreact to victories over the Jets and start talking about Super Bowl parades. So, burn the place down and start over, until next week.

it's not like we've been cruising to division titles. Remember, just two years ago, the Dolphins led the division for the majority of the season until we beat them in week 18. -
We have a smaller defense, that’s fine. What we are asking for is for McDermott to use their athletic ability when we need them and for them to play aggressive. It would surprise them, that’s for sure.
-
You are spot on. It is tougher losing to the Patriots with the great game Diggs had. The thought of going the rest of the regular season having to think about the Pats catching us is nauseating.

The challenge becomes protecting the natural grass on the football sidelines since the players and coaches stand within the wider soccer boundary…so they’ll typically put down a tarp there. It’s a standard cross section. The sand helps with drainage. -

I'd say stop using Kansas City as the blueprint... Andy Reid is light years better as an OC/HC than McDermott/Brady combined and Spagnuolo is a better DC than McDermott/Babich combined (not being a tool just stating the facts). -
It didn’t matter at that point what the offense did previously, stopping the field goal attempt was job one, and they failed. That doesn’t address the play and strategy on the game winning drive and that’s what’s being discussed.

Not panicked in the least. Just frustrated because the loss was avoidable. Very little room for error in the NFL. -
I don’t think there’s any concern about whether or not the Bills will be a good team this year. I think most of the concern stems from the fact that we haven’t seen anything yet to make us think that this team will be any better than the ones that have fallen short in previous years. Good news is we can still beat anyone, just need it to happen 3-4 times in a row in the playoffs.

There is some truth to that, but we all also suffer from BBFS. And part of that is undervaluing our own players and overvaluing other teams players. Take a player like Ed Oliver. If the Bills had never drafted him and he was a Raven, half this board would get a warning from @simon in a non-Bills game thread for asking "why can't the Bills have a player like that?" every time he made a play. But put a Bills helmet on him, and everyone thinks he is average at best. All of those feelings used to be valid because for almost 20 years, this franchise felt like a joke. We hired guys like Buddy Nix, and we go fed "cash to the cap," and had guys retire at halftime. We had a coach quit! Not retire, but outright quit!. That never happens. Guys like Drew Bledsoe, Marshawn Lynch, and Stephon Gilmore couldn't wait to get out of this backwater on the fringes of the league. Now, this is a well-run NFL franchise that players want to play for. But that perception of ineptness is set in stone for most of us. It's hard to get past. Sorry for all the philosophizing, but I have been thinking about this lately when I realize that my non-Bills fan friends have a much better opinion of Beane and McDermott than I do. BTW, the Bengals fans I know would trade their all-world WRs for our OL in a second. Sometimes we lose sight of the fact that the team is pretty good in the trenches, and that goes a long way in determining games. -
I live in Eagles county, this is what they’ve been telling me since we got him. There’s no teeth to his defense.
-
Not panic personally More just justifiable frustration after voicing legitimate concerns, being met w 'fOuR aNd oH', them immediately seeing those concerns manifest in a loss

I’m not sure it’s the case at the new Bills Stadium but when we design them it has to extend far enough to accommodate a soccer field, which is wider than a football field. -
I think there’s a, not totally undeserved, feeling that we have a qb that makes us a contender annually but the rest doesn’t always measure up. while the Trent and fitz teams that started hot were fools gold for wild card contention, this one feels a bit like that for the Super Bowl. in a league where you pass and stop the passer we are missing a secondary and a pass rush, as well as pass catchers. I’ll admit I think we overachieved last year a bit and outside of bosa we didn’t add a lot of new to the cupboard. Bosa might really help one of those 3 phases- maybe even 2 by taking stress off the secondary none of that to say we are some 6 win fraud… but that I’m also not buying the if we beat New England we are the last undefeated and those question marks disappear.
