Last 2 weeks the Bills is giving up 15.5 ppg (and missing 2 of our best players either one or both the weeks) and the offense is avg 30.5 ppg. Not sure it’s time to panic when we are carrying an average of 15 point differential since our come back when on Balt. And with Oliver and Milano missing time. There are things we certainly need to improve on, and on both sides of the ball. But I wouldn’t be sounding any alarms yet either.

Do people watch the games? You didn't see the 5 and 6 man blitzes going all game long and man coverage?

Do The Bills Have A Passing Game Problem?
Jalan81 replied to BillsFan130's topic in The Stadium Wall
We have more than one problem, not sure if that’s hard to understand or not? We now struggle on short yardage 1 yard or so, we also can’t get it done on short yardage plays with consistency, especially in the playoffs. Didn’t think that was a difficult concept, but I’m here to be corrected. -
The Bills D imposed their will on the Jets offense last week. But by surrendering 370 yards and 31 points the Finns did not impose their will on the Bills O last night.
-
You don’t know how much longer fans will put up with an undefeated team averaging 34 points a game? Just stop.

I’m not sure Rousseau is being coached up well. I know there’s some in the fanbase that think he got paid and is not firing on all cylinders. He gets no pressure from the edge and with a just a few tackles his pursuit seems limited so he’s not blocking throws either. If we’re expecting pressure from the edge it’s Bosa or an extra rusher. This seems like a problem until Hoecht comes back. The good news is they looked good for the second week against the run. Walker,Jones and Bernard were solid. Walker is a good player. White, showed some good coverage as a depth corner and Benford and Johnson are solid but we’re lacking quality at safety with Bishop always out of position . Face it, against quality passing attacks, we have to win shootouts. That’s a bad formula for beating teams like Green Bay, Tampa Bay, Atlanta, Philly.
-
We better see a 40-0 score next week to satisfy this fanbase. Although then the opponent will have been terrible and it won’t mean much until the playoffs. Something like that. Just accept that we ***** suck till we win it all.

As soon as I saw “calibre” in the OP, I knew it was gonna suck.

agree 100%. Miami was playing a lot of 2 high looks with a spy in the middle, daring Allen to take the short stuff and hoping he would eventually get frustrated and press (hoping for an interception). Allen was patient ALL night and didn't force anything. That's the sign of a super mature QB. And I guess the only other 'deep pass' was the TD attempt to the back of the end zone for Kincaid. Perfect pass by Josh but the CB timed it perfectly to break it up.

It's beyond silly hearing people bash the Bills offense like it’s been some kind of disaster. If you’re one of those folks, — you’re just showing your lack of knowledge. Let’s talk facts: #1 in total offensive yards — that means we move the ball better than any other team in the league. #2 in points Scored — our offense is putting up big time points on the board #1 in turnovers given up — yeah, this is the one sore spot. But guess what? That’s not a scheme issue — that’s execution. #1 in 30+ points per game since last year in the league - meaning we are consistently beating the crap out of opposing defenses. #2 in TIme of Possession - against the Ravens we had it for 34 minutes 49 seconds, against the Jets for 38 minutes and 21 seconds and against the Dolphins for 31:47 for an average of 34 minutes and 41 seconds. #3 Rushing attack in the league at 166 ypg Red zone offense is at 71.43% which means we get to the Red zone and we are putting in the endzone. Now let’s rewind to last season: We were top 2 in scoring, top 5 in yards, and top 5 in third-down conversions. Josh Allen was top 3 in total touchdowns. We had one of the most balanced and explosive offenses in the NFL. So when people infer the offense is boring or the receivers don't get "separation" - all I hear is - "I don't know jack squat about what a successful football team looks like" it’s just lazy talk. I think some of you would prefer a team like the Bengals who throws the ball 40 times a game to WR's. How did that work out for them last year? You’re ignoring the numbers and reacting emotionally. Bottom line: this offense is elite.

That was early in the game. After the first drive in the second half it felt like most passes were at the LOS. We’re the db’s sitting back? Probably as they pretty much played with 3rd string except for Fitzpatrick. The Oline was not holding up at all though. Those to things are what drove what we got. They imposed their will on us unfortunately.

Do The Bills Have A Passing Game Problem?
Big Turk replied to BillsFan130's topic in The Stadium Wall
Personally I just don't think the Bills feel they need to do a lot to beat 2 of the teams they just played in division so they haven't shown much. -
https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/player/_/id/72410/greg-rousseau He has a cap hit of 5.8 million this year, 12 million next year. In fact Epenesa makes more that Groot presently Then in 2027 his cap hit will be over $20 million, with an out available in the offseason 2028 Groot is an edge setter and a lane disruptor, and not a sack master. By the time he is making $20 million plus he will be considered cheap when compared to other top pass rushers, plus he will be a candidate for a restrucutred contract. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/rankings/player/_/year/2025/position/ed/sort/cap_total We do need to get more pressure on the opposing QB. Hopefully when our DL is healthy players come back from suspension as well as rookies stepping up can make that difference in the 2nd half of the season.

9/18/25 GAMEDAY Bills vs Dolphins Post Game Thread TNF
wjag replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Musing with 'some' sleep 1. Josh can not throw a better pass than the one he threw to Kincaid in the right end zone corner. Timing, angle, placement.. ooh la la 2. Cook is such a sneaky runner. It doesn't look like he is running and then bam, he turns it up a notch. 3. Wasn't surpised at all the game was close. Dolphins playing for their season last night. 4. Roughing the kicker was the play of the game. 5. Surprised the Bills did not get a sack in that game with such a patchwork OLINE they were up against. 6. Miami is going through DBs at an unsustainable rate. 7. Tre White looks slow. He did make some good tackles though. 8. Held my breath through the commercial break when Benford went down. Glad he was able to finish. 9. The Prater miss had a huge impact on momentum. 10. Allen picking up 19 on a 1st and 20 scramble was also a massive play in the game. 11. TB.. TB.. TB.. The nailer in the coffin. 12. Miami has a nice two-headed monster in the backfield now. 13. Special Teams not so special.. Fix that please. -
It was just a lot of easy missed plays...like Tre having a free run at Tua on 3rd and 12 for what should have been an easy sack and coming in too out of control so Tua easily spun away and completed it to Hill after rolling out. Still think it's more of the newer players needing time to gel together which is causing a lot of this...hoping by midseason they are at least average Also have 2 major FA signings in Hoecht and Ogunjobi who are out a few more weeks...Hoecht is especially important because he was being planned to use all over the D as a chess piece almost because of his versatility.

Defense hasn’t looked great, but keep in mind this week was a short week, hosting a division rival who is desperate to win. Additionally, we didn’t have the following starters - Maxwell Hairston - Ed Oliver - Matt Milano In their place you have other rookies and 2nd stringers stepping up. Not to mention we have a few other players who are hurt or suspended that can’t contribute yet. It’s not an excuse, every team has injuries, but I hope some adjustments get made during this long weekend and we get right soon. One thing this Defense has done well is make plays when down to the wire. I’d rather not bank on that every game, but they’ve showed they can make a stop when absolutely necessary. So far, that has been good enough, but we have to get more disciplined.

It took a while, but Tua Turnthaballova finally showed up!!
Jalan81 replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
Probably a bad word. The passing game got shorter and shorter as the game went on. The drops were brutal though. -
Zion Logue just because I think he deserves a little recognition. He looks like a solid run defender. The Bills are going to have some difficult decisions once Hoecht and Ogunjobi return, and it's possible someone will try to sign Logue off the PS before that happens.

And Baltimore gave up 41. What's your point?

Do The Bills Have A Passing Game Problem?
oldmanfan replied to BillsFan130's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don’t understand. You want a play or two that will consistently yield 3-5 yards then bring up tush push that is designed to get a yard? -
And it wasn't all soft zone. There was some sticky man coverage sprinkled in and people talk like the D was horrible, but it forced four 3 and outs. It was very feast or famine. It felt like the Bills were willing to come out each drive and get in the Dolphins' faces but the moment they managed a first down they bailed out and became passive. I'm not sold at all on Babich. He had some nice calls last night but some of his 3rd down calls were just nonsensical too.

Miami has plenty of talent. Their defensive line is really good. They have explosive stars on offense. Their issues are not talent issues. They lack leadership and toughness. And their secondary is not great.
