My wife is Lebanese and spent her summers as a kid in a mountain town outside Beirut that I can’t spell. (It was VERY different from where she grew up in rural SC.) We went on a cruise a few years ago and went to Montserrat, Spain. There is a famous monastery at the top of the giant mountain. Our priest friend had us skip the church stuff to take the incline to the very top of the mountain. We took in that cool, crisp air and she said “this is what my summers were like.” OK, now I get it. We’ll be sure to get our mountain time!

I went to Letchworth as a kid, and honestly I think I remember it more from the slides than from actually being there. But everything I remember and hear is that it is stunning. Maybe we can make this an annual adventure before the Bills opener each year, go explore the area. We are going to Niagara on the Lake also, and I’ve never been there either. I left WNY for college when I was 17 and didn’t see all of what there was to offer. .
