UPDATE: ISRAEL v IRAN - Ceasefire reached?

I couldn’t even hazard a guess. That said, my thinking is that those who believe only minimal damage was caused by a dozen+ 30k lb bombs are kidding themselves. -
McDermott not in Top 10 of NFL coaches per PFF.

I think it's simple. If the culture shift didn't happen. Allen doesn't have the room to grow into who he is. If he went to a team in full dysfunction, the expectations would not allow him to take the time to grow into a super star. For that McD gets credit. He makes the overall decisions, the coaching hires, the general flow. He knows the O is not his strong area, so he leaves his generals in charge of their platoons. He doesn't have that Reid/Mahomes relationship, but he has the calming present to say, Allen - go be the best you! Now he has some issues coaching, game day decisions mostly. But he has learned there over the years. I believe barring major injury; this is the year that the steady approach wins it all. We need the horses on D in the playoffs. Which means some great play by rookies and FA's. -

1. This is not Nagasaki 2. You do not announce to the world that agents of a foreign country went to the sites. Their lives are now endangered. Trump cannot help himself from self promotion. The actions he took were absolutely necessary, and could gave been greater in my opinion. You are dealing with religious nuts who would gladly die in a retaliatory nuclear blast after killing infidels. These are the same people who used 10,000 kids to walk thru mine fields because the kids would go to heaven. Trump, hit them again if you must, but shut up. -

I think Einstein is being hyperbolic. But I had a number of friends in the building at the time, there was in fact a slide, that Kim herself presented, that listed bluntly that one of the core pillars of PSE was "maintain family lifestyle". PSE used to share the building with Labatt. -

It is mind blowing reading some of the Anti McDermott comments. Anything good that happens with the team happens in spite of McDermott. Anything bad that happens with the team is because of McDermott. There is no logical explanation that justifies leaving McDermott off a top 10 coaches list. The Bills have the 2nd best winning percentage over the last 5 years. With a significant drop off to the #3 spot. -

I remember that storyline, but I’m weak on the details. Exactly whose account of that meeting are we relying upon? What was the context and what were the exact words? This always sounded a lot like sour grapes to me, with a disgruntled employee flavor to it. I’m not sure I’m buying the ugliest version of this tale. It’s made to sound as though they look down on the staff with disdain, and I don’t think that is the case. -
It’s interesting that Zohran won all the districts that swung towards Trump last election. Populism!

Nice job getting that nuclear material. Hoax. Maybe Trump should focus on the consumption of cats and dogs instead of failing at pretty much everything else. Deportations? Down. Prices? Up. Enriched uranium? Still with the Iranians. Ukraine war? Ongoing. Murder rate in red states? Higher than blue states. Border wall? Imaginary. Still. After eight years. Same thing with repeal and replace. Deficit? Soaring. BB spending bill? A joke. Tariffs? A joke, stupid, and also TACO. They bought time. I can't believe it's this hard to explain. We'll have the same conversation ten years from now, unless the ayatollahs get a nuke earlier than that. (Such as, for example, through help from the *****, which seems to be on the table now). -

Anyone remember Tommy Sweeney? Flying home from the Bills vs Miami game on Halloween (2021?) I was seated next to his mother. Actually one of his better games. His mom was pumped. Lots of BC stories and parent stories about him and his sister who I think was a swimmer or something like that. When his father stood up and helped my wife get her over head bag down I could see where they were related. Good people. Kinda rooted for Sweeney while he was in Buffalo just because his parents were nice.

That role influenced him to become an EMT with the LAFD for years after his singing career ended. Like Ken Osmond (Eddie Haskel) became a cop.

I agree. And that is part of the reason why I have been a staunch supporter of keeping McD. It’s also why I stated (in the post you quoted) that my argument is not against McD, but rather against the argument that 2017 proves anything. Marrone and Mularkey both led us to 9-7 records - they just weren’t lucky enough to do so in a year where 9-7 meant a playoff berth. From another perspective: Rex Ryan went 8-8 with the same roster that McD went 9-7. -

https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2025/06/24/us-iran-bomb-assessment-nuclear-sites-not-destroyed/ An initial U.S. intelligence report assesses that airstrikes ordered by President Donald Trump against Iran’s nuclear facilities set Tehran’s program back by months but did not eliminate it, contradicting claims by Trump and his top aides about the mission’s success, according to three people familiar with the report. The classified report by the Defense Intelligence Agency is based on the Pentagon’s early bomb damage assessment of the strikes on nuclear sites at Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan using earth-penetrating munitions carried by B-2 bombers and submarine-launched Tomahawk missiles. It assesses that the strikes did not destroy the core components of Iran’s nuclear program and probably set it back by several months, not years, one of the people said. U.S. intelligence reports also indicate that Iran moved multiple batches of its highly enriched uranium out of the nuclear sites before the strikes occurred and that the uranium stockpiles were unaffected, said the person, who like others spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive intelligence matters. A second person familiar with the initial DIA report — labeled “low confidence” in nature — said it concludes that some of Iran’s centrifuges, used to enrich uranium that could be used in a nuclear weapon, remain intact. ---- The Trump administration scheduled and then postponed Iran briefings for House members on Tuesday. Rep. Mike Quigley (D-Illinois), a member of the House Intelligence Committee, told The Washington Post there is widespread belief in Congress that the embarrassing content of the assessment is the reason the Trump administration decided to delay the classified briefing. “They don’t delay briefings that have good news,” Quigley said.
