Autumn often appeals to poets both for its beauty and the poignancy of life on the cusp of winter, which is metaphor for death, yet also sleep and the dreaming season that quietly awaits the rebirth of spring. It also holds the holidays that appeal to children and those who remember the joy and simplicity of the child-like. Further, it is football season, the playoffs for baseball, the beginning of hockey. Folks can favor other seasons. I don’t mind them being wrong.

Elijah Moore helps AJ Brown off the ledge
Mister Defense replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall
Great to read this short story about one of the players who has many Bills' fans thinking, hoping, he may be an important weapon for the Bills this year, a receiver who can do many things well. I had not heard anything about Moore's close relationship with A.J. Brown, the player I lamented the Bills did not go after when he was dangled by the Titans, an almost unstoppable force and someone with high level character. This connection, friendship, makes me even more hopeful and excited to see Moore on the field this summer and fall. Seems like a great fit in so many ways. -

Trump The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit will hear oral argument in V.O.S. Selections, Inc. v. Trump, Case No. 25-1812, on July 31, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. (Eastern). Please review the full public notice for details on attendance, security screening, electronic device restrictions, and media access. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2025/07/25/trump-tariffs-power-courts/ George Will: Donald Trump’s destructive “Liberation Day” tariffs, announced April 2, should result in a constructive judicial ruling that significantly sedates today’s hyperactive presidency. Next Thursday, a federal appeals court will hear oral arguments about this: May the president, by making a declaration (that he claims is exempt from judicial review) of a national “emergency” and “an unusual and extraordinary threat,” impose tariffs (taxes paid by U.S. consumers) whenever he wants, at whatever level he wants, against whatever country he wants, on whatever products he wants, for as long as he wants? Make sense of the latest news and debates with our daily newsletter A unanimous lower court has said, essentially: Of course not. Eighteen organizations, spanning the jurisprudential spectrum, have filed amicus briefs opposing the president. They demonstrate the following: After the preamble, the Constitution’s first word is “all”: “All legislative Powers” are vested in Congress. And the power to tax is listed first among Congress’s enumerated powers. Because the Constitution vests in Congress the power to “lay and collect” duties and imposts, presidential authority to impose them must derive from a statute. Today’s president is a hare, darting here and there. The judiciary is generally a tortoise, slow because it is deliberative. But you know the fable. And here is a fact: This tariff case could markedly restrain this rampant presidency.

If that happens, and he is a much closer to the great corner he was before the injuries, I will be very pleasantly surprised. It would mean the Bills' secondary could take even more steps forward this year than expected, with a veteran leader of the very young group, and someone getting meaningful snaps. And it would be another factor uniting this team, making them even more cohesive. Not betting on it, but I would love to see this happening in the next few months.

Is Israel Committing Genocide In Gaza?

Interesting... By your own rhetoric... You accept ethnic cleansing as long as Hamas is the excuse... And it never registers to you how this benefits Israel to maintain covert support for Hamas... -

Of course they need to adjust in order to reduce a humanitarian disaster, and I absolutely hope they do. It doesn't change the fact that they didn't start this, no are they in any sane way responsible for what Hamas has morphed into as a client of Iran who trains, funds and supplies them for the sole purpose of killing Israelis. Same thing happened in the Six Day War and Yom Kippur. Gross aggression against Israel. In a few days they kick ass, them the aggressors go to the world court of public opinion to get them to stop. They do so, and it's repeated a few years later. That aside, I sincerely hope there is a change that allows the humanitarian aid to get to the innocents and not be stolen by Hamas. . -

The solution to some problems is obvious, and quite inexpensive... But, hard work is often required... Too many people who cry all day about carbon emissions will never lift a finger to do what this man has done... Instead, they beg for higher taxes and expensive, inefficient technological interventions...

You say that but Douglas had all better metrics than both Dane Jackson and Tre White so if he was toast what are White and Jackson? Douglas would be an upgrade to both of them as sad as that is.

Your unwillingness to show the basis of your claims is interesting. -
I agree with both points. Adding to that, one topic that I have rarely seen come up anywhere is the amount of energy that a generative AI search burns compared to a normal one. The amount is exponentially more. Despite that Google has made it their default and there is no option to opt-out, or uniform easy way to disable it. Why should I only turn my AC to 79 degrees, stop eating meat while paying more money for hyper processed "plant based" alternatives and buy a twice as expensive electric car with no resale value when used and a battery that is damaging to the environment when Big Tech just made something that burns that much energy a default? We can certainly make individual changes because we think that it is the right thing to do, but forcing intrusive, expensive and impractical lifestyles on regular people while those on top did not follow suit was never the answer. https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/what-do-googles-ai-answers-cost-the-environment/ https://news.mit.edu/2025/explained-generative-ai-environmental-impact-0117 https://www.androidauthority.com/how-to-turn-off-ai-overviews-google-3445771/

This is McDermott we are talking about. When was the last time a rookie got a big role? he will go with experience a thousand times out of a hundred. if white can run he will start I’m curious to know where and how the late round DBs are playing. There was talk of one or both playing safety? The other being a nickle?? where are they getting reps?

Genie Energy is EZ for anyone to look into... If someone is too lazy and ideologically fixed in their opinion to even bother to look into it... Then nothing I say will mean anything to them... If someone wants to live in their insulated bubble world, so be it... -

I get that. But this particular case has so many extenuating circumstances, I doubt the Bills even consider the possibility.
