I don’t blame them for acknowledging all their priorities, and in fact appreciate the full disclosure and transparency. But the key here just may be in the details, and we are thinking there. I couldn’t even hazard a guess. That said, my thinking is that those who believe only minimal damage was caused by a dozen+ 30k lb bombs are kidding themselves.

I think it's simple. If the culture shift didn't happen, Allen doesn't have the room to grow into who he is. If he went to a team in full dysfunction, the expectations would not likely allow him to take the time to grow into a super star. For that McD gets credit. I remember that storyline, but I’m weak on the details. Exactly whose account of that meeting are we relying upon? What was the context and what were the exact words? This always sounded a lot like sour grapes to me, with a disgruntled employee flavor to it. I’m not sure I’m buying the ugliest version of this tale. It’s made to sound as though they look down on the staff with disdain, and I don’t think that is the case.
