Battle for the Division: Bill and Pats remaining games poll.
machine gun kelly replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
Well although I’m trying to be cautiously positive with both team 13-4, but even if we beat the Cheats, because we lost to the Fish, they will have the better AFCE record, and thus we become the 5th seed. I know that sucks, but I don’t see them losing the weak teams. The only thing that flipped the seeding to a 6th AFCE title will mean the Jets or Fish have to win against the Pats. It still would be a successful season and then all bets are off in the playoffs. Only if the 6th or 7th seed goes on a run in the playoffs, and beat two division winners, our last game at Rich stadium will be the final game of the season. It really will be farewell to Highmark in January. I know this isn’t what we want, but it’s probably accurate. The only saving grace is we go to the Pats and beat them in Foxborough twice. Once in the season, once in the playoffs. -
Awful game last night. They were the better team but kept turning it over. A few times they were saved by replay, only to turn it over again the next play. Bizarre. There goes any hope for the MAC

O was not good, special teams were actually good for once (basically enough to offset our o, which is rare, usually the impact of o and d are way bigger than special teams), d was putrid. The d marks were on the back of giving up multiple long td runs late. The advanced stats don't predict the winners perfectly of course, but they give valuable info beyond fantasy stats and gut reactions to games. Basically the bills are a top team who are wildly I consistent on a game to game, drive to drive, and sometimes play to play basis. Our EPA = billsy. For this sunday's game, TB is effecient passing the ball, which our d is very strong against, and their d isn't good enough to keep our o from controlling the ball and scoring regularly.

Who do we want, who do we need as our next HC and, or GM?
ScottishBills replied to jaybeezee's topic in The Stadium Wall
Coaches are blamed as that is the easiest lever to pull. You cant change (all) the players. You cant dump all the contracts. You cant just get rid of the nearly man syndrome that has put a downer on a largely excellent 5 years But if we agree it wouldn't be good enough to do the same for the next 5 years - then the coach and GM are the things that can be changed to try and engineer a better result, the ultimate result. As has been repeated thousands of times, those on this side of the fence are not morons as several posters (not you!) like to state - we are perfectly aware that it could end up worse. At the same time as understanding it could end up better. And crucially, worse no longer bothers a lot of us - its not as bad as the lack of access to a higher ceiling. If it goes from AFCE and divisional exit after the defence fails (again!) and the offence comes up short (again!) to 2nd place in the division and a wildcard exit - lots of us are not bothered. If it goes to 3rd place and missing out on the playoffs, again, thats fine. We will get a different coach and try again. What is not fine is ambling along with the exact same !@#$ing plan every year into the exact same !@#$ing result. I mean the WR conversation is so boring to a lot of people because its been the exact same issue for almost 2 years now!! Without being fixed. Its shambolic. The lack of elite talent is even a longer term issue - Beano's obsession with 6.5/10 players is a massive part of the issue. And its part of the same tired philosophy - it should get us the division and a chance in the post-season (even that is wavering this year, but to be fair, that hasn't been in question for 5 years and fair play to them for that). The same ***** Tomlin spouts every year. Zooming out - I don't really know what to say to people who watch the Texans D or the Cleveland D or the Rams O or the Seahawks O and think "Yep, McBeane is as good as it gets, I feel confident they will get it done, no need to consider changing the plan". I mean the Rams were literally giving away their picks at the side of the street and managed to get it rebuilt inside of a year. Meanwhile we are twiddling our thumbs saying "well when they are all fit, we'll be able to nickel and dime our way to a 3 point victory against the big boys" - its beyond a joke -
Week 11, Bucs v. Bills, PREDICT THE SCORE!

I think Josh and the Oline has heard enough this week about how bad they have played from the talking heads and coaches. I expect us to control the LOS and roll with Cook leading the way. 32-21 Bills -
Well at least Fox has sacks under his belt in the past, and already from this morning’s article from Sal on WGR, he was out warming up for practice yesterday.

Week 11, Bucs v. Bills, PREDICT THE SCORE!
machine gun kelly replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bills 27 Bucs 24 Brady finally gets the motivation and the kick in the ars from McD to get going and finally throw the ball downfield. This then will open up Cook in the second half achieving 104 yards. The Bucs get behind early as Moore finally starts getting used effectively, and Palmer comes back. People will be surprised in Kinkaid’s absence Knox steps up like he did before Kinkaid came into the league with a couple of acrobatic catches for a TD and a 3rd down conversion. Im sick of being negative as I was so upset about the Fish loss. My optimistic side says behind closed doors McD is raking Brady over the coals to get a downfield passing game open. He’ll always going to be supportive to the media of Brady, but what happens in his office will be different. He can’t be hard on him in front of the team. -
He will and it's big problems for our D.

Who do we want, who do we need as our next HC and, or GM?
GunnerBill replied to jaybeezee's topic in The Stadium Wall
Of course it isn't. Shouldn't be good enough for anyone. It does slightly come back to "why has it not been better?" though. I don't think that answer is quite as simple as others do - but that's the modern sports landscape - coaches get over blamed for everything. Sunday felt like an end of days for this regime. If the rest of the season looks like that there will be a change I think, as much as I suspect Pegula is instinctively cautious to move on. -
He eats lunch in a Chevy van, and that's alright with me.

Bills 27 Bucs 10 Jet sweeps to Hardman every drive and he breaks several for at least 3 yards. Count on it. -
Chris Kluwe claims it is 100% this. He got into the topic on Bluesky a few days ago; he says in the old days they'd give the teams the hour you mention to work on the balls and each team had an equipment guy who was a specialist; because of the time constraints he'd rough up one ball real good and if he was fast, one or two more partially; they'd try to manage the balls to get the good one when they needed it but that wasn't always possible. That changed right around the time his career ended (no need to get into that here) so the equipment guys had time to really work over the footballs and the teams were given control over which balls they'd kick with. And obviously air pressure is also part of it, and most QBs (again, no need to get into that here) want less air pressure while the punters and kickers obviously want them pumped up as much as they can get away with. IIRC his claim is a well-prepped kicking ball will go 10 to 15 yards farther than a brand new ball. And even though he only punted in the NFL, he seems to have a pretty strong understanding of both specialties...I think he placekicked in HS and maybe at UCLA

Loose Lucy, she was sore, says I know you don't want my love no more, yeh-yeh yeh-yeh yeh-yeh yeh, singing, "Thank you, for a real good time!"

Battle for the Division: Bill and Pats remaining games poll.
Real McClappy replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
The division was lost when we lost to Miami last week. Based on the AFC standings today and schedule if NE goes 6-1 they will most likely land the #1 seed. What a crazy turn around a new coach made in NE.
