What did he average in the elimination games, which is what I actually referenced? And how many TDs?

There are many great drummers. Peart, Bonham, Moon, Stewart Copeland, Buddy Rich…even Ringo…and not necessarily in that order. My top guy? Peart. Technically sound, intricate, dedication. Great lyricist. Was perfect for Rush and loved watching him! As for the remaining guys, all great drummers who were perfect for their respective bands. Again, even Ringo who I’ve been learning to really like. I just feel Neal was a step above. A sleeper that I love watching from back in the day is Joe Morello who played with Brubeck.

Does there need to be a rethinking of the basic D?

My thought exactly. Beside, nothing else can excuse the defensive play calling. -

This all sounds great and I hope it works. Let me know when the ink is dry

i can put him in the keenan allen/michael thomas group sure and ive been pretty consistent on him throughout. great player for the bills. absolutely oozed insincerity. liked having him and loved seeing him go

Definitely the greatest 4 year stretch of production, but Moulds was the greatest. Imagine having a player like that during Allen’s years. He definitely would’nt be getting manhandled by smaller DBs in the postseason the way Diggs did year in, year out.
-
I think the stretch of his first 3ish years in Buffalo, he was elite. unlike the other dudes you list, his peak was relatively short. So maybe over the breadth of his career, he’s no DHop or Davante or Julio. He’s probably closer in that Keenan Allen tier below those dudes. But I think it’s wrong to say he wasn’t elite when he was playing at an elite level. 2020 Diggs was on that level. That’s jmo.

This.

Diggs averaged 66 YPG in the playoffs in Buffalo. He also maybe had the best WR play of the decade in the playoffs in Minnesota.

Some teams have performed that badly in regular season games. It sucks to watch, but that is football. Sometimes the games suck. That's just baked into the nature of the game. Fans aren't entitled to a high quality performance by their team. The NFL itself does everything it can to provide an exciting product, but that doesn't always happen, especially in preseason.
-
i think the question was actually how good was he a lot of people saying elite and im just not there. he was really good borderline great but not elite. hopkins was elite. julio jones was elite. tyreek hill was elite. mike evans was eliteish. antonio brown was elite. these are his contemporaries and i don't really put diggs into their category. he just wasn't the complete package- lacked ideal size and speed. great route tree, good hands, not really a threat w the ball in his hands...he just didn't have enough tools for me to say he was the best of the best.

Good Night / Bad Night - Pre-season Game 2

Wilkerson has won a PS job I think. He will be their next Shavers esque project. -
Preseason Week 2 Bills at Bears - Game thread
GunnerBill replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's not true. I haven't heard McDs presser, so not sure if he said it but if he did he might well have meant our 2s "on the night". But even our starting lineup had guys like Gouriage, Feeney and Codrington out there who are not even in our twos. They are threes. And they started the game for us. -
im sure he let you know it too!
-
My issue with Diggs was his playoff performances, particularly in elimination games. He was terrible. Elite regular season WR, but a ghost in the playoffs when we needed him most. That is a problem. To be truly elite, you need to show up in the playoffs when it matters.
-
You know there’s going to be some brutal play. But that bad? No. No reasoning for half measured play. I’ve been to around 10 preseason games and the consensus about those is it isn’t about the win but watching the competition and effort the guys playing for a job display. Honestly, there was far too many moments of modest effort.

If you are cutting Hamlin, do it now...
GunnerBill replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall
I really don't. I know what Damar Hamlin is. But someone has to beat him out. That is what has not happened. Bishop is still making major game breaking mistakes when he is out there. I am like everyone else I WANTED Bishop to have a great spring and summer, take that job and never look back. But he still looks worse than Hamlin out there. That is the reality. I think they are going to start Bishop because they know if he can't beat out Hamlin by year 2 he is veering towards bust territory..... but he is going to be on a short leash. If the mental mistakes continue he will be off the field within 4 or 5 weeks and he will basically be done as a Bill. Hancock is a slightly different case. There have been some flashes from him through two games. But they haven't been really committing to him learning the safety spot for most of the summer. I think they might now switch his focus that way... but probably not in time to start him week 1. -
So did Nathan Peterman. He was a preseason superstar. He isn't really above average as a backup. Maybe average at best. But that's fine.
