This was my same issue when Gregg Williams came here and re-tooled the defense. His wide 9 was great in Tennessee, because he had Jevon Kearse and a ton of other elite talent. Same later on with Jauron and his Tampa 2– needed very high end DB play. What I loved about wade phillips’ boring old 3-4 is you didn’t need elite players at every level to run a highly effective D.

Teams regularly work out kickers. They want to see what the kickers who are available can do "just in case" they have need of one, so I'm not sure if there's any real significance to these workouts.
