Beerball was a Bruce fan too -
I would never do it with Sanders's kid because the slight possible upgrade in backup QB is not worth the noise that comes with it. You'd be naive to think there wouldn't be noise as one of the reasons Sanders slipped in the draft was because no team thought he or his father would be fine with him as a backup. Logically, it makes sense maybe 20 years ago but how often do you see NFL teams fall for the Rob Johnson type bait anymore. The four QB's you just quoted were traded before the Obama administration. I can't remember a QB that was taken in the later rounds of the draft that was flipped for a significantly better pick since Schaub. The only thing you really see now are small transactions like the Pats drafted Milton in the 6th round and he was flipped for a 5th with the Cowboys. Maybe 25 years ago he gets flipped for a 1st.

You don't have the right dynamic for the New Frontier, your dad probably never built a dugout in case The Reds decided to push the button down. I suggest you move to The City, make up your mind, learn design, & study overseas... That's why you're not mad about Brubeck. He's an artist, a pioneer, gotta have some music on the New Frontier...

They used to. Why they call basketball "cagers"... They played in a cage.😏 They even fought too: https://www.basketball.org/history/cagers/ In the early days of baseball, home team fans lined the foul lines to keep the ball fair. They fought too...

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/44249852/nfl-free-agency-2025-experts-big-questions-signings-trades-contracts I thought this was an interesting read. Teams on their backwards list 49ers, Chargers, the Bills (because we didn't add a CB or a top WR), KC, Seattle, and the Cowboys. I'd add the Jags and Bengals to my backwards list. Note: They think our signing of Bosa was one of the best FA signings Teams on their improved list Bears, Panthers, Vikings (They lost their starting QB, not sure that counts as improvement), Pats, the Raiders and Commanders.

Thanks for the clarification. We need both! -
I did not know that. Nice tidbit. Edit: Thanks to Google, his saxophonist wrote it.

Oddity: I actually just learned in the last couple weeks that Take Five is the only song on Time Out that Dave Brubeck didn't write.

I've loved this song ever since I was a kid. When I was a kid, the PBS station in Rochester (WXXI) had a little "filler" video that was to this song, and I think a time-lapse of someone making stained glass art. I don't remember the visual art, but I've loved this song ever since.

Networking is really smart and you need to go where the people you want to meet are to do it. At the combine, the hotel bar is exactly where those people are. I bet this would 100% work with McBeane and a bunch of other people. It shows confidence and it gives you an opportunity to get even a little bit of face to face time with people who would normally be inaccessible.

I never “got” this kind of jazz, guess I wasn’t hip enough. But I did wait/serve a dinner for Spyro Gyra though. It was a small to do for their signing with a local record exec in the late ‘70’s. …..it didn’t make me any hipper to that scene.

Kobie Turner was 89th overall by the Rams late in Round 3 in 2023. The Cowboys selected Mazi Smith in round 1. There are no certainties in the draft. And lots of variables impacting why teams will pass on who they do for another player. Landing spot. Fits. Development. Needs. Metrics. Traits. Production. We got to start hitting on the DL. We have not had a true stud there in over a decade - peak Mario and Hughes. Best DT since is Kyle? Oliver? If just 2 of Sanders, Jackson, and Walker hit. My goodness. FYI Sanders is same build as Turner same weight - Sanders is 2 inches taller.

They've already paid him and there is no way of getting out of it until after the 2027 season. I hate the big trade up slightly less than you for that exact reason. They don't need those picks for a QB. Lawrence is their guy for at least the next 3 seasons. If they see Hunter as a receiver first then it's kind of a final swing at the fences in terms of putting the pieces around Trevor to help him succeed. It might be throwing more assets at an already sunk cost but if the QB is no good they are not gonna be a good team the next 3 years anyway.
