If Gabe Davis was in-bounds on the final drive...
SCBills replied to ShakAttack's topic in The Stadium Wall
Hard to really say that “no matter how ugly it is, Bills have a chance with Allen” because we keep coming up short in big moments on potential game winning drives. I don’t really blame Allen. Every time it seems he’s let down by those around him or his OC get smoked by the opposing DC. Dawkins got beat by Chris Jones to take a TD off the board to Shakir in the KC Playoff Game. Bass misses the game tying kick. Game over. Spags give us a look we hadn’t seen before, free rusher, Allen gets it to Kincaid who can’t pull it in. Game over. Fact is, Gabe didn’t come down in-bounds. Close doesn’t matter. Dawkins false start takes it from 4th and 1 to 4th and 6. Texans able to dial up pressure now. Brady’s predictable and unimaginative mesh route fails. Game over. -

Will Josh Allen want to stick around for a rebuild?
reddogblitz replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't care if he "wants" to hang around or not. He's under contract at $60,000,000 per. Put on your helmet and get out there. -

if a defense has to defend the entire field it take stress off our line and opens up the playbook if we have a lead our small linebackers aren’t stuck in the trenches as much -

Agree. If Gabe had caught that, this game goes down as “Allen magic” once again. Instead you have Allen haters coming out of the woodwork. -
Best Edge defender is kind of a slight overstatement One of the 10 best sure Top 7 in run stuff last year edge... Top 11 year before Not in the top seven right now ... There's some top Edge guys who get 20 plus run stuff's consistently Get PFF has him rated as the highest but I take that with a grain of salt... Greg has never reached those highs ... A top five seven run stuffing edge.. there's a big difference between number one and him whether it's myles Garrett or whoever Garrett stops the run much better consistently over the last 3 years

Will Josh Allen want to stick around for a rebuild?
PayDaBill$ replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall
O line isn’t cutting it, can’t pass protect, you’ve seen it slipping all year, wideouts room is one of the weakest in the league, LB’s are small and always hurt, secondary has a couple of younger nice pieces but needs help and for all the resources we threw at the d-line it’s the same old story. This roster needs a lot of work, not to mention the OC isn’t really good and McDermott appears to have hit his ceiling. -

It ranks as luck more than anything else. Exciting Bills drive but not anything special in terms of Allen. -
Josh Training With Maye In Offseason.

No, they don’t. Not when all of their receiving options are blanketed. -
If Gabe Davis was in-bounds on the final drive...

I didn't think that play was that close until I saw the replay. Josh really is incredible. Nice catch by Gabe, too. It would have fooled all of us, though. We would have talked ourselves into the idea that we can pull it out anytime, and further ignored the major flaws in this team. -

Lewis got caught by turf dragon. Benford clearly hurt. Hairston is up and down. That said defense made plays to keep us in the game to made that game winnable in the last drive. I'm just saying all the coach bashing and only love for Josh is nauseating. It's like the glorifying of Jim Kelly who to me was a good not great QB. Josh from a physical standpoint the best ever but until he learns to take what defense gives him he won't ever be in the Montana, Brady, Elway class. -
I was at the game and let me tell you what was happening downfield
Einstein replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
No. You don’t do this when the receiver is blanketed. -

As I understand it, he has been learning how to make fly puppets out of pistachio shells, and has approached a number of flea markets in hopes that he can pedal his wears -

Hard disagree. the defenders would be out a little louder but it was an ugly game that underscored the known issue which the GM chastised fans for commenting on -

Allen missed a wide open Knox on the final play
Billsatlastin2018 replied to ChronicAndKnuckles's topic in The Stadium Wall
EIGHT Sacks, 12 Hurries, TWENTY- EIGHT Pressures! TWENTY ***** EIGHT! The Bills had 66 Plays all night! So, Allan was trying to find one, any, open WR while running for his life 42% of the time! LET THAT SINK IN! -
Assuming he catches the ball in-bounds and the Bills punch it in for a TD... That would HAVE to rank at or near the top of Allen's most memorable game winning drives, right?? That catch happens and a lot of the narratives today are flat out erased and/or minimized because the dominating narrative would be stuff like "no matter how ugly it is, the Bills will always have a chance because they have Josh Allen" I don't typically agree with stuff that Dion Dawkins says, but he was right when he said "it's a game of inches" and mentioned the Davis play. I realize this is another hindsight post, but it has always been fascinating to me, how such small margins will dictate perception and outlook. If the Bills win, the Bills defense is still poor and decimated by injuries, the offense is still an inconsistent mess, and yet, you wouldn't be hearing nearly as much about it... if Gabe Davis got a second foot in-bounds. For me, personally, that play is the first thing that comes to mind when I reflect on last night's game. What an unfortunate wasted opportunity. That truly would have made this another one of Allen's memorable moments and it would have made that 4th and 27 conversion even more special.

And if Josh plays better for one series against the Chiefs last season we win. If he plays one series better last night we win. Yet I know easier to blame the coaches. -
Hairston appears to have promise, but is a rookie. Cam Lewis was exposed yesterday at the end of the first half. Taron and Tre are at end of useful life, Benford has regressed. The way they have played this season, none of our CB's would be considered among the top CB's in the league, although our brain trust let Rasul Douglas walk and he is playing like a top CB once again.

Will Josh Allen want to stick around for a rebuild?
NoSaint replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall
a real #1 fixes so much A defense has to defend twice as much space it opens up all the underneath cook and Allen get less abused playing with a lead lets our defense key in one dimensionally it is the most complimentary football we could ever play. And speaks to my point that this isn’t a 10 year process. Picture this team with George Pickens for a 3rd this year. -

ngbills replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall
We already see small signs of slowing and ability to break tackles. Just the reality of aging. He is still in the top of the QB group in terms of mobility, but each year that will slightly change. I have zero confidence in our current coaching staff to be able to adjust a system for an Allen 2.0 version that cannot do the same stuff he does today.
