  2. If he was appointed by 2 separate Democrat Governors...
  3. Assuming this is what it looks like, this is what happens when you engage in stochastic terrorism, labeling everyone and everything they don't like as Hitler, fascism, etc. (ya know, exactly what the left has been accusing the right of doing).
  4. Kinda unfortunate Libs were all on board with Luigi Mangione and his 'understandable' assassination of the United Health Care Exec last year. That was just as repugnant as this is.
  5. The downside of the strategy you describe is that the Bills got middling returns on Devin Singletary and Zack Moss and it's too early to say how Ray Davis will pan out. The James Cook pick appears to be a home run and if they let him walk, he'll more likely be replaced with another Singletary/Moss/Davis than another James Cook. The argument implied by many here is that the Bills can get 90% of Cook's productivity at a fraction of the cost... but that 10% productivity loss might be the difference between a true weapon and just another solid back.
  6. A couple thoughts here. First, tragic outcome for the family and our political system. I’ve been against the death penalty for a long time, but should this perpetrator end up shot dead in the street it would be ok with me. Second, most definitely time to NOT jump to conclusions. Could be a right wing scumbag looking to start something, could be a left wing scumbag like Mangione looking to appeal to people who support this sort of thing, and all sorts of misdirection is potentially in play. Third…the facts of the shooting are precisely the reason the dopey senators stunt from this past week was so foolish. These days, assuming anything about anyone is not very unwise.
  7. It’s not the parade by itself. It is in the context of Trump sending Guard troops into LA, against the States wishes, and masked unidentified men snatching people off the street. Regardless, I think we will survive this one and Trump will get his wet dream.
  8. I believe it’s been 3, though Davis was a 4th rounder. Personally I’d rather keep Cook and spend a 2nd or 3rd rounder on a position that gets paid more on their second contract. Especially since I think Cook has been the only really good RB we have hit on in those 3 or 4 picks so far.
  9. The guy is a great writer and storyteller. Pick a random topic (maybe anything other than sci-fi) and I’ll. Bet I can link a great song. Go.
  10. Cheers....nice work! It's tough raising kids these days. A lot of outside influence in ways that didn't exist when we were kids Well we know how that turned out. 😉
  11. I'd put it more like this........players excelling on the field despite modest workout numbers is what proves that the testing doesn't promise results. However, it provides a foundation. The future performance can't be accurately predicted but if you pick a guy who runs sub 4.4 there is a greater chance that he will play fast than a guy who runs 4.6. The way it's framed in media sometimes that doesn't seem to be the case........because when a guy like Christian Benford excels with a 4.53 40 time they don't mention that he's one of hundreds of CB draft hopefuls in the last 5 years to run a 4.5 or slower.........they point to the much smaller group in faster sub-sections and compare his play to those players. Then it's something like "hey, only 3 of the 10 guys that ran under 4.4 in that draft class are good NFL CB's and Benford is as good or better than them........must be track speed doesn't matter".
  12. Your dad was a pastor AND a cop …whoa!
  13. Beane's drafted four running backs in the top three rounds since 2018. So it's half of his drafts so far. It's the best way to get value out of a RB as you're likely drafting a first/second round talent a full round later who will usually be more NFL ready than any other position. He's already in his prime years physically and will shortly fall off a cliff after his first contract. Go get your Cook replacement in the 2nd or 3rd round next year and hopefully get a comp pick for him. Use the draft pick the same way as Cook and four years later wash, lither repeat. I do agree that Beane should take more shots in both trading for possible #1 WR's and making it more of a priority each draft.
  14. So just to go full circle, the Bills have recently overpaid for wide receivers in free agency who have not yet panned out but they can't reach an agreement with James Cook who was a huge part of the offense and a homegrown guy who had 18 TD last year including runs of 65, 49, 46, and 41 yards. I appreciate that a well-run team has to exercise contract discipline but if they're gonna overpay, who best to overpay? Also, what is the projected return on investment for any given contract?
  15. I’d like to think my 3 kids turned out OK.
  16. Kids of police officers and pastors are usually the worst in my experience. They end up rebeling
  17. Not impressed. Some good restaurants. Otherwise pretty bland. Would stay at Kiawah next time instead.
