  1. Past hour
  2. Snubbed by NFL.com writers. How will Allen psychologically recover?
  3. My predictions for this game: Bet the over (51.5, last I looked) Keon Coleman explodes. The Bills' front seven are going to make Derrick Henry look old. Win or lose, one of the media talking points out of this game is going to be, "has Derrick Henry lost a step...?" Lamar Jackson throws for 280+ yards. Jackson is sacked twice-- Allen not at all. At least one Bills secondary player, who has been crapped on by this board, exceeds expectations, and has a very good game. For good, or ill, special teams is going to make a huge difference in this game. Throughout the telecast, the words, "Super Bowl," are going to be used waaaay too much.
  4. Now that we know the initial 53-man roster, and the practice squad is set, it's prediction time. This is the time every year that I make my one (1) prediction for the Bills regular season. My track record is pretty good - I'm generally +/- 1 win from the Bills' actual total. (Full disclosure: I was off by 2 last year. If we'd made the Cooper trade in preseason, I would've kept my streak alive, but such is life.) I don't go game-by-game; instead I try to look holistically at the Bills as a team for the full season. I do take overall strength of schedule into account, but upsets happen both ways, so I think it's futile to predict the results of each week well in advance. Likewise, injuries happen, guys have big games here and there, etc. There's some averaging out, but overall a really good team tends to win more than a fairly good team, which tends to win more than a mediocre team, and so on. So with that preamble aside, I'll go on record: I'm predicting 12 wins from the Bills this year.
  5. Top to bottom they are a better built team. We have a slight edge at QB, but no where near the rest. We better pray Beanes offseason DL moves pay off and McDermott has some new stuff up his sleeve.
  6. It is kind of amazing that Allen had seven guys ahead of him, especially when you see who they are.
  7. I agree - this is a BIG game. Determines, or can determine, the season we will have. You lose this game to our rival out of the gate and questions will be asked all season. We need this one...
  8. Sorry I just dont feel good about this game. The beat us in the regular season, nearly beat us in the post season and they are coming in pissed to make a statement. Worst game on the schedule to start the season. For those claiming "its just the first game" Thats fine until end of season when head to head tiebreakers determine the #1 overall seed. I still don't get how for what seems like 3 years now our secondary keeps getting injuries, moreso than any other position it seems.
  9. I gotta get in on this: Caruso Liberace Cher Madonna Axl Slash Houdini?
  10. I had no idea Peyton Manning won the MVP 5 times. 😱 I usually hate moral victories, but Josh getting the MVP last year definitely eased the pain of losing a controversial game to the Chiefs.
  11. Having just one known quantity at outside corner feels pretty dang risky. Benford is easily the second most important player on this roster.
  12. Yeah because he sure made a difference when the Bills played the Cowboys. A demon pass rusher, but just useless against the run. I would rather have a well-rounded elite player like TJ Watt or dare I say Joey Bosa (the league better take notice.)
  13. Not a single vote for a Bill in any category.
  14. Looking at Green Bay's schedule: Minn X2, Detroit X2, Philly, Washington, Balt, Pittsburgh, Cincy, Denver..... Micah could be the difference between a win and a loss in any of these.
  15. I hope they have a big fleet because we need more of these around here. 😆
  16. how quickly we forget... Mozart Chopan Pavarotti Or groups like KISS Nirvana Zepelin Doors Queen True icons are more than a 20 year run. Madonna is the only female I can think of that has spanned more than 3 decades with her prevalence. Will Taylor still have the popularity she does in 20 years like the Dead? The Beatles? Elvis? I did not say that it is a recent phenomenom but the cultish following that is this absurd is more recent and prevalent than other points in history. This is what I was getting at in my first point. In 2040 we are not going to be hearing her most recent album being cited as something like the Zeppelin albums, etc. I doubt we are still singing anything but her bubblegum early pop stuff pre 1989 album after the year 2030. Shake It Off, Bad Blood, We Are Never Ever, Ever Getting Back Together, Love Story, and maybe...maybe Our Song will be the only lasting ones we sing. A few like Mean and Never Grow up will last longer than Cruel Summer, Who's Afraid of Little Me, You Need To Calm down... Anything off of Lover, Reputation, Folklore post her 1989 album... will be gone. Those before 1989 like Red, Speak Now had the best stuff people will remember.
  17. They're going on tour?!?!? I believe Gilliam is one of the Bills core four special teamers which makes him pretty valuable. The ability to fill multiple roles actually saves roster spots. And there's no way Mike White was gonna be retained in any capacity. So you're saying he's a Jag who plays for the Jags?
  18. Hooks would have scored if he didn't have to move to avoid the official.
  19. Has anyone tried the Sleeper App for fantasy football? I started a new 10 league this year that’s 1 ppr, redraft, with blind action waiver wire. I’m 9/10 and we pick tomorrow morning. I’m also the comish in a 12 ppr, redraft, blind auction waiver, ESPN league. We’ve done this league for over 10 years now, probably close to 15. After seeing Sleeper, it puts ESPN to shame. I love mock drafting and Sleeper doesn’t great job at it. You can see all of your past mocks, plus invite people into the mock draft, making it easy to practice with others. There is also a feature I’m trying out this year. Everyone in the league has two matchups each week. A regular head to head and then you play against the average score of everyone in the league. So you can go 2-0, 1-1, or 0-2. I’ve had a lot of fun over the years expanding the playoff field, which keeps just about everyone in the hunt until the very end, so I’m excited to see how things shake out with the two matchups a week.
  20. I watched three versions of this (longest TDs, longest pick-6's, and this one), and it's funny that the pick-6's and non-scoring plays were mostly longer yardage than the TDs!
  21. Chris Jones is still the highest paid DT in the league… by a lot.
