  2. Not One More Number: Say Their Names or Admit You Don’t Care David Manney This column was hard for me to write, but here goes. Every time there are breaking news stories highlighting successful ICE raids, we learn what evil is. Not the notion debated in panels on TV news hours or tweeted from think tank interns, but the real kind. I'm talking about the type walking on two feet, smiling at neighbors, and ruining lives behind closed doors. We're told about the arrests in the cold newspeak spoken by the newsreader providing the voiceover as we watch footage accompanied by numbers, charts, and press statements. We learn so much, but not the most important part: What those men actually did before they were caught. Whom did they hurt? How many homes were shattered? How many childhoods did they end? We count those successful ICE raids like wins on the scoreboard. It's what sits underneath the scoreboard that hits hard: Each raid is also a confession of how a system failed, resulting in a child paying the ultimate price. On top of all this, nobody wants to say their names. https://pjmedia.com/david-manney/2025/07/31/not-one-more-number-say-their-names-or-admit-you-dont-care-n4942294 .
  3. It's hyperinflation. Just be glad you can still afford internet.
  4. A little Meniscus clean up. Miss the rest of TC, preseason and the month of August. Ready for Week #1 Sounds like a solid plan on his part.
  5. The big remaining question for Benford (and all our DBs really) is can he improve in man press alignments. We haven’t really had anyone who could do that since prime Taron (who got smoked last year the few times we tried like vs. Rams). I think McBeane understand this has been a weakness which is why we targeted guys like Hairston, a zone CB but someone with the wheels to in theory play without a cushion, and Dorian Strong who seemed to show man press ability in college.
  6. Is it because he doesn't have a job? or he isn't too important at his job?
  7. That’s a pretty lazy way to have a discussion. Those were your words, not mine. The Bills have thrown TONS of resources in terms of draft picks and money at the defense in this regime. The results have been pretty much exactly the same. They can’t stop KC in the big moments. I don’t want to keep trying the same thing and hoping for different results. I want to turbocharge Josh so that they end up with “plenty” of points. I think building around Josh Allen is a better strategy than trying to have him cover for lesser guys. I don’t think the sky is falling. I do, firmly believe, that WR is one of the worst 2 position groups on the team with S. Do you agree or disagree with that point? If you disagree, which groups are worse? If you agree, do you agree that he would be the best receiver on the Bills tomorrow (that’s rhetorical)? Do you also agree, that he will almost certainly be more impactful over the next 3 years than a WR picked at 28 or later? Instead of throwing a jab and running, go ahead and answer those very specific questions.
  8. You just described your entire life.
  9. The early 2010s Seahawks built an excellent defense, but injuries, contract extensions, age, etc. didn't allow it to continue at that level very long. And they had true elite defensive talent unlike the McBeane defensive roster. Still managed to win a SB and appear in another. The model of maintaining a defense with upwards of 15-17 starters/key depth is not and never will be an efficient use of resources when you have a franchise QB. Still, 2025 will provide the verdict on McBeane's strategy of not substantially investing in WRs and therefore Josh while going defense-heavy again. If this strategy doesn't get them to the SB, there's no more doubling to tripling down on that approach. It has to be pivoted from and they embrace a Josh-first team featuring real a real WR1 that emphasizes throwing it. Because if it doesn't and they're 6 straight seasons without a SB appearance there's no room to run.
  10. Unless they like McClaurin's skill set more than Metcalf's. They've already made their investment in Palmer though who's about to turn 26. I just don't see it with this regime who's made it clear how they want their offense built from the inside out giving a lot of guaranteed money to a WR about to turn 30. I thought he was a lot younger than that before he demanded a trade as he was drafted at 23.
  11. Peterman was a training camp star, wasn't he? He might continue to find roster spots, but few teams are kicking down his door to recruit his services.
  12. They don’t. When they actually contribute to productivity. Unfortunately we have a bloat, waste, and debt problem here that needs to be addressed. And until we privatize social security we have to trim the worthless Fed jobs that produce nothing as a place to start.
  13. Ouch… i was just joking
  14. In camp they aren't always playing with the players they'll be playing with in the regular season nor are they running the plays they'll be running in the regular season. Camp is for getting in game shape, building chemistry with those around you and figuring out who is making the roster and their roles. If you're going to make bad plays, INT's, Fumbles, being in the wrong place etc...now is the time to do it so you can work on correcting it.
  15. Voted for him for the tax cuts, border policy and as rebuke of the woke left. People who thought he’d fix everything, good luck. I’m certainly not sold on his tariff policy, but acknowledge there was always going to be short term pain.. he said as much.. let’s see how much people are willing to take. So far he’s doing everything I voted for, so zero regret here. As far as his weak spot.. it’s tariff policy.. he’s hitched his entire second term to the success or demise of that strategy. A year from now, it could be a disaster or it could define him as an all-time great. That’s what happens when you take huge risks.
  16. Thanks, man. There are actually a few mistakes, but close enough! the tele is a mahogany body and roasted maple neck. Sounds great! Finished w/ tru-oil with gold flake embedded. About 25 thin coats.
  17. I don't disagree, he will. But the point is, they don't think he is worth it. Guys like JJ, Hill, Chase, etc didn't have teams not willing to pay them at the top of the market. They got their deals done easily. Guys like Terry, Aiyuk, etc have to fight for their money because their teams don't think they are worth the money but cave due to the team also being a SB contender with QB's on rookie deals. The point is, if Terry was worth that the Commanders could have easily just gave it to him, they can do it easier than anyone else too. They feel its too much for what is a good, but not great, WR. And now people want the Bills to over pay for a guy that will screw our cap up moving forward who is about to be 30. The amount of overpay people are always willing to do here for a WR is crazy to me.
  18. Bring him in! Oh, wait. I had the wrong Terry.
  19. We didn’t score plenty of points because we lost. You never score “plenty” of points in a loss.
  20. He wants lower interest rate so the economy and the GDP will grow substantially, the inflation rate is not the main reason. But you knew that.
  21. We scored plenty of points against KC - but its never enough. To ask us to keep scoring even more points is a lot harder (as it takes entire drives, multiple plays, etc) than simply making just ONE more play on defense to get KC off the field one more time preventing a scoring drive in games we lost by 1 score.
  22. I think it's as dumb as reporting how many TDs they've thrown in camp too. Camp stats are beyond dumb.
  23. Nobody “wants” to pay a guy significantly more than he’s making if they don’t have to. Washington is now at the point that they have to. He will be at $30M plus, in Washington, within the next week.
