  1. Past hour
  2. This team is hurting for a bye and it’s early August sigh
  3. Enlighten me.
  4. https://www.kornferry.com/insights/this-week-in-leadership/the-great-wait-for-work For those looking for work, the story couldn’t be worse. Indeed, as of June, the average period of unemployment was 23 weeks, according to the latest US government data, while nearly one quarter of people have been looking in vain for a job for six months. It’s one of the longest waiting periods since the pandemic. “The patience for some is being tested,” says Ron Seifert, a Korn Ferry senior client partner and leader of the firm’s North America Workforce Reward and Benefits group. Such waits are causing mounting frustration for legions of qualified workers who have found themselves filling out dozens, if not hundreds of applications without hearing a word back. Meanwhile, amid a sea of résumés, many corporate leaders say—ironically enough—that they can’t find workers with the right skill sets. Their firms continue to fret about everything from inflation to tariffs, which is delaying a lot of hires. For nearly everyone, the length of unemployment has been climbing steadily before reaching its new, three-year high. But it’s gotten particularly prolonged for certain groups. For men between the ages of 45 and 64, the average time being unemployed is at least 33 weeks, or more than eight months. At the other end of the spectrum, many recent college grads—traditionally some of the most affordable and trainable potential workers—are also finding it tough to get a job fast. The average length of unemployment for a 20- to 24-year-old with a bachelor’s degree is 20 weeks. Biden had great private sector job creation, unlike Trump whose taxes are killing hiring, the economy and American companies
  5. You don’t get it.
  6. Both teams now have a player on watch for the opener… Shakir for us and Likely for the Ravens.
  7. Time wise, this is very fortunate. I would expect him to be available for the opener though.
  8. He’s been available to the entire league many times after we’ve cut him and nobody has wanted him.
  9. What kind of person who for no good reason, refers to a player as a loser? Shavers was an undrafted free agent who's entering his 3rd NFL season. He's made $850,000 in his career. What is your definition of loser?
  10. Fine by me. Less chance to suffer serious injury in preseason/camp. sucks that it’s another ankle sprain for him. His ankles are his lifeline on the field
  11. Ugh, ankles can be tricky. Well silver lining is he should be ready week 1, and he/Josh already have a great rapport. Palmer is missing time with a groin, hes more important to get reps IMO.
  12. Happy Birthday Marv. Thank you for everything!
  13. Happy Birthday to Marv, the Centenarian! Thanks for all the memories!
  14. Glad it's not longer, looking forward to someone stepping up.
  15. So right in time for the opener? Could be worse
  16. Shakir being out for a little really gives opportunity to Jacobs and Moore
  17. Opportunity for other guys to step up !
  18. Yeah, depending on the severity of it, Week 1 could be a little cloudy. I'm guessing he makes it back, but he may not be 100%. If it's me, I'm not rushing it, though. Of course we want to win Week 1, but there is no stranger week in the NFL than Week 1. Anything can happen and anyone can beat anyone because of how unpredictable it is. I have said several time that no matter what the outcome is Week 1, it isn't going to sway my opinion of the season one way or another. Whether we win by 30 or lose by 30, even that won't change thing. It's just an odd week with so much volatility and unpredictability. So yeah, get him healthy and back to 100%. Even if he misses a couple weeks to start the season off, it's not worth rushing him back. Rather his absence affect a couple weeks of the season instead of the entire thing. While not ideal, obviously, I'm glad it happened now and not 3 weeks from now.
  19. Yeah what a loser being on an NFL roster.
  20. A liberal never to be heard from again on a far left network. All he had to do is ask for evidence.....and poof. Banned.
  21. Lots of guys not practicing. Shakir being week to week sucks, but assuming he'll be fine for the regular season.
  22. Season is basically over for Hairston with this injury and the missed practice time. McDermott won’t play him or trust him. Shakir should hopefully be fine. Don’t need to see losers like Shavers on the field.
  23. Just further evidence that being named pro bowl alternate is meaningless
  24. Shakir with a high ankle sprain mildly puts Week 1 in jeopardy. Should be good to go by then, but off chance he could miss it.
