  1. Past hour
  2. No, it’s not fun watching this team. My problem is that I was so optimistic going into the season based on the schedule. Extra home game. No overseas games. Toughest games all at home. Minimal travel. Couldn’t be any better. That’s what so disappointing. Cherry on top is New England being this good this quickly. The torture never stops. Only silver lining will be if Chiefs miss the playoffs.
  3. I think it's been pretty obvious that Brady and Babich are doing what Mcdermott wants, this usually means playing and coaching not to lose. I think McDermott rewards both of these guys with them having their own weekly pressers so they can promote themselves I just hope Pegula tells McDermott he needs to hire a big name defensive cordinator and new offensive cordinator from outside. That has always been the problem, we keep hiring coordinators that are already here and that's too easy to control
  4. I just posted on another string... we can all opine about what needs to be done... and even agree... but the reality is that Pegula will do absolutely nothing about this and let it all ride... the best we can hope for is that Babich or Brady or both get canned... but that is the absolute max of what I think will happen... our only hope is that Beane self identifies his short comings and brings in people to assist there... is that likely.... probably not.
  5. He was pressured on 28/35 dropbacks, sacked 8 times, and in this instance, a play was just blown up by an immediate block whiff.
  6. Im what they call an “ Early Adopter “ Called my shot three years ago. Was right then, am right now. Never going to win with either of these guys. Program builders but not championship winners
  7. Beane stinks.. Most overrated GM in the league. Medicore drafting, bad FA signings, bad contracts.. A mediocre roster with no money to spend is fully the fault of the GM
  8. That was an easy call that any ref crew would have made it was a terrible run pick play. I think the Bills are lucky Allen didn’t get hurt as often as he was hit.. I will say on a couple (like the 2nd sack) he has to throw the ball away at some point.
  9. I get more inspiration from my local deli than anything from this dick jaroun clone Looking at McDermotts face on the sideline is like watching the end of leaving las Vegas over & over again. I can't deal with it anymore
  10. Groot has been great, Bedford appears to be rounding back into form, and Hoecht/Boba were as advertised prior to injuries. Defense is getting the job done with a M.A.S.H. unit out there, it seems absurd to be so critical of them when they've put out a league-average performance in each of our losses despite multiple offensive turnovers.
  11. In most situations when a player says “wtf are we doing” it usually leans towards an overall who holds the hammer, calling plays. I could be wrong. But knowing Josh he’s an ultimate team player and wouldn’t say that about his teammates especially when he’s not playing good.
  12. I wonder if the minority owners could get in his ear as he doesn’t make change unless something drastic happens and he feels pressure or convinced. If Sabres are any example, it ain’t gonna happen unless things go really bad. For understandable reasons, he is not as invested in these teams since Kim has been not involved. Ughh.
  13. I wanna tell you how it's gonna be You're gonna give your love to me I wanna love you night and day You know my love will not fade away You know my love will not fade away Not fade away
  14. without going back to watch the mechanics my gut ageees
  15. Agreed you take away Allen and this is bottom 3 team in the NFL. I thought they should have tried to run Cook or even Davis on the previous 3 & 1 to secure the first down and then just take shots to the end zone The reality is Knox is a perfect example of Beane overpaying for a fringe talent player, he is not someone who you can count on to make a big play in crunch time because he does to offer any elite talent skills
  16. Homegrown off-season signings has been the biggest issue with this team. Bernard, Benford, and Rousseau have been mainly invisible. It’s the main reason the defense looks the way it does. The free agent signings have not looked any better with the exception of the two games that Hoecht was able to play. Cook is the only signing to play to his contract. WR signings this and last year have not helped. Other than Beane hitting on our rookie DT what has Beane done. At what point does Josh finally say I have had enough with the WR room and defense. His body language says he is already there. Ryan Miller 2.0. Please no.
  17. Joe Brady was getting absolutely murdered this morning on ESPN radio. They were saying that their defensive coordinator ran circles around Joe all night and that we could not figure out how to adjust.
  18. Yes the play wouldn’t have counted. However you would have gotten another chance instead of ending the game there. I don’t understand why people can’t comprehend this.
  19. Was only able to watch the 1st half last night, which in hindsight was blessing (the first half was bad enough). This team is, sadly (and inevitably) done. I predict 2-4 the rest of the way and a play-off miss...which is probably exactly what this team needs to spur some real change. Another year of status quo will have JA looking for the exit (would be perfect as Stafford's replacement in LA). Oh...another untimely false start by The Big Dummie? Shocking.
  20. Is that the same play that Knox was open because of Davis OPI? Just checking. Pass rush makes it hard for any QB to execute, they sped up his clock all night. They got beat in the trenches and lost the turnover battle 0-2. Not because Knox was open on a play that would have been called back.
  21. I really think that it can. We continue to draft our way downhill with McDermott pulling the strings.
  22. Marginally? Compared to the last two years he’s same YPC and halfway to his production. talent matters. You are comparing a guy who was top 10 to a guy that’s top 64
  23. Tradtionally discussion of draft philosophies revolve around Best Player Available vs Position Need. And discussions how to balance those issues. But I don't think either of those or a combination of either of those is sufficent and may not even be the correct approach. I believe the correct approach is to focus on how to maximize a teams quality snaps under rookie contracts. Every position of need can be filled in someway in free agency. I don't have the energy yet to quantify this. An example of the decisision making is to evaluate each player in the draft against the players you have at the same position. The evaulation is not a simple "does that upgrade the position". The correct evaluation is does this player increase my ROI at the position. For example you are comparing Rookie x vs Greg Rousseau. And you estimate of the course of the next 4 years Groot is going to generate "1000 units" of performance, at a cost of $80 million. I estimate rookie X could generate 800 units of production at a cost of $16 million over the next four years. Groot costs $8k per unit of production. Rookie x costs 2k per unit of production. So my calculus on this comparison is, I free up $64 million of cap space drafting this rookie, and letting Groot move on. And I need to find another 200 units of production on the defensive side of the ball. It seems have $64 million freed up should be able to add more than 200 units of production. So in this example, while Groot is a fine NFL player, and his contract is inline with similar players second contract, it might not be a good investment. And this analysis needs to be applied to every player on the roster, and every prospect in the draft you think is an NFL caliber player. In my head, I start stacking those $64 million savings up, to use towards getting some true difference makers. I realize this is half-baked, but am looking for feedback on whether anyone thinks there is merit to understanding this "third approach" to draft strategy.
