I’m not going demean myself with responding to a ludicrous idea of not the NFL. I will not bring politics into a Bills/NFL forum. This has nothing to do with the poster, but who knows the motivation of this story, and hopefully the mods will do whatever their needs are for the forum. I just don’t even at a restaurant or a sports bar bring up the hotbed of politics. This country is so polarizing on these issues. How about we stay out of it on many of our favorite forum to talk Bills.

Its OK for the Bills to be a run-first team
BigAl2526 replied to First Round Bust's topic in The Stadium Wall
It is OK to have a run first strategy as part of their arsenal. If you choose to limit the scope of your capability to running the ball, you are inviting opposing defensive coordinators to focus their scheme to shut down the aspect of your game that you depend on. That doesn't even touch on what it means to have one of the elite passers in the league and choosing to use him like a backup game manager. -

A QB whose has the ability to scramble and make plays simply should not be getting sacked 7 times. How in the hell does that happen? -

Greg Rousseau has turned out to be a complete slug.
Mikie2times replied to Walking Tall's topic in The Stadium Wall
Here is a stack rank by average contract value. Then it shows the sacks, TFL, QB Hits, sum of all 3, then the sum of all 3 divided by games. Rousseau is the lowest in the per game count of any DE making what he makes, and you don't find anyone lower than him until you hit Hasson Reddick who is making 6 million less per year. His per game counts put him firmly in the 11-15 million dollar range. -
NFL mandates new playing surfaces for all stadiums by 2028
Sierra Foothills replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall
In the outgoing Highmark Stadium, the Bills use A-Turf Titan 50 which has a low G-Max Rating which measures the shock absorption of the field. It's considered a soft playing surface. However the NFL will be using 2 different measures when approving playing surfaces for 2026: "the BEAST, which is a traction testing device that replicates the movements of an NFL player. The other is called the STRIKE Impact Tester, which helps determine the firmness of each field." It's not clear if A-Turf Titan will be approved but of course it's a moot point because of the natural grass field in the new stadium. That raises a separate question... the assumption that most are making is that any and all natural grass fields will be approved however it seems possible that the league will implement standards for them too. -

I think it is still too early to close the book on Keon, but the first several chapters have not been what we hoped. OP is right that folks had the same view of Moulds, so I will hold out hope into say week 4-5 of year 3. If we don't see it by then, we ain't gonna. Lack of professionalism to date is, however, a serious negative indicator.

Agree, certain people who dislike a certain person seem not be able to grasp that..

He "dominated" the game against Houston with 2 solo tackles, 0 sacks, 0 pass knockdowns and 0 forced fumbles? He played a fundamentally sound game, yes. But our are expectations really that low where we consider that performance, "dominating" and "taking over the game"? -
It's getting to the point where I'm no fun anymore I am sorry Sometimes it hurts so badly I must cry out loud I am lonely I am yours, you are mine, you are what you are You make it hard

I am most of the way there...It became clear Franklin lost the team and was pouting. He wasn't coming back at that point. Sounds like him and Kraft had a falling out last offseason - Basically Kraft wanted to go full NIL buying top players; Franklin wanted to pay his guys and not pay for recruits and transfer guys. Franklin won. Big money spent on DC Knowles. BIG money to Allar, Singleton and Allen. Inexplicable money to people like Liam Clifford and Dom Deluca (500k each). Refused to play young players....Then the team crapped the bed...and (im assuming) Kraft went into - "I told you so" mode...and everything was lost. It had to happen - as sad as it is/was. 2 good years at VT and he will leave for the first opening at Florida/FSU/Miami. For sure - Kraft has botched this search, but he landed in a great spot. However, Campbell on 24 Nov is MUCH MUCH better than Campbell on 5 Dec...but it is what it is. Sitake was never coming here. DeBoer was (apparently) interested (despite what he says publicly) - but the win over Auburn and making the championship game killed that. Kraft let this play out too long - and pissed off Sexton. Thats not great. But money talks. Especially to Agents. Sexton will be fine. Re: Smith - He was always going to stay. Dude is more Penn State than anyone. We need the continuity and his recruiting. I think it will be fine. Re: 8 years - meh... The devil is in the buyout terms. Even then, Franklins $59M buyout became $9 after he took the VT Job. Heupel isn't worth a response. I've hated Tennessee since that crap they pulled with Schiano. I'll just add his ignorant comments to my list. Im really excited to see what Campbell can do with a $30M NIL budget and the ability to attract 4 and 5 star players. There needs to be a "you're all in - our you are out" conversation with existing players. Cant have the resentment on "Not Terry" percolate. Terry is uniquely positioned to help there. Hopefully they can keep young studs like Koby Howard and Chaz Coleman. Howard specifically was held back by Franklin - so he is probably less inclined to go to VT. Not sure what they will do at QB. I prefer Grunkemeyer...but I can see Rocco Becht come over from ISU as well. Should be a fun next 30-60 days - then see where they land roster wise.

Still, this offense needs him to drop back and also be a threat to run. He just can't have games where he is getting sacked 7 friggin' times. I think Allen's ability to scramble is an xfactor that drives defenses crazy trying to defend. His cannon for an arm isn't what makes him special. It's his ability to scramble and make plays off script. -
Injuries negatively impacting team: Oliver, Brown, Dawkins, Hairston, Milano, Bernard, Bosa, Hoecht, Palmer, Dorian Strong, Shaq Thompson, Shakir Injuries that may have negatively impacted team (as we don't know how the players would have developed): Carter, Sanders, Jackson, Samuel, Hardman, Grable, I am sure this is not complete, but the point is - while it is true we had some injuries that may not have hurt us, it is abundantly clear that we had a ton of injuries that either did hurt us or may well have hurt us. The staff and players have done a good job navigating them. Ironically, I am the most optimistic I have been for this team since the Falcons/Dolphins losses. Seems the defense is gelling a bit and any offense with Josh Allen and James Cook gives the team more than a fair shot. In an AFC where two of the three pre-season favorites (Ravens, Chiefs) have materially worse records than the Bills, I say - why not us? Keep hope alive!!

A slim chance. Thanks. That is helpful to know.

A receiver being "open" is not as simple as it appears. It's not enough to "be open" at some point; you have to be open when the quarterback is looking your way. Very often, Allen appears to be looking at Coleman, even waiting for him, then turning to his next read because Coleman is glued to the receiver or not looking back (or both). In those cases, it doesn't help if Coleman breaks free two beats later because Allen has already made his decision. That's why timing and being in synch with your quarterback is so critical. Remember all those back-shoulder throws to Diggs that were virtually impossible to defend? Allen threw half a dozen of them to Coleman early in the season, and I think he caught just one. The other times he wasn't looking back, hadn't made his break, allowed the DB to make the play, or dropped the ball. The only thing I've seen Coleman to well is climb the ladder for the ball. Throw it way above his head and he'll go get it. Route-running, slants, comeback routes, even jump balls with DBs, he's at best mediocre. Blocks ok, I'll give him that. And sometimes--not usually--he can get open on fire drills. I'm not giving up on him because who knows? But he has an awful lot of work to do.

Wow! You must have a great eye for talent to be able to judge a rookie after 30 defensive snaps with the Bills. I’m not that good, so I’ll just wait to see how he does next year. The point from @billsfan89 was our lack of elite athletes, so taking a shot at developing one doesn’t seem like a terrible idea. If he was ready to immediately perform at a higher level, he would have been drafted much sooner. Let’s give him some time and see how it goes.

So is Landon Jackson done for the year?
DapperCam replied to billsfan714's topic in The Stadium Wall
This guy was supposed to be a raw "high ceiling" development pick anyway, but it does hurt he's missing the chance to get real game experience his rookie year. Hopefully next year he hits his stride. It is pretty rare to pick up a day 1 good starting EDGE in the 3rd round, so I didn't hate the pick in a vacuum (although I wanted a WR or Safety there). -

I agree with your take, including my thoughts every time Allen drops back to pass. It used to be I loved seeing him drop back, expecting something awesome. Now I hold my breath. I actually felt like last week would be a good barometer for the Bills—on the road against a lesser team they *should* beat—and aside from the self-destructive mistakes in the first half, I thought they passed the test well. I agree that this week is another good test—but then again, it seems like *every* week is going to just be another test. I have no doubt that the former senator from Tennessee didn't care at all about that game.
