  1. Past hour
  2. It’s like we constantly defend and make excuses for our abuser. “Well, the defense is so beat up...” This refrain is now going on 3 years in a row. Every year this is an excuse. Something can’t be an excuse 3 years in a row. At some point it’s reality and correlation does equal causation. Sign old players. Draft undersized players. Extend injury prone players. What do we think is going to happen? This Defense has: Current DL.. former 2nd Round Pick on an extension, former 1st Round Pick on an extension. $12.6M DE. Recent high 2nd Round Pick. Recent high 4th Round Pick. $7M DT and an $8M DT. LB..Recent extension at LB. Recent 3rd Round Pick. $6M LB. Slot.. $10M per year slot corner CB.. Recent extension. 1st Round Pick. S.. Recent 2nd Round Pick. But why should we ever expect them to be above average with a defensive minded HC with the losses of Oliver and Hoecht!?… that’s why.
  3. Hey. Let’s look on the bright side! Remember you all said the Bills would have the division locked up by December, and you wouldn’t see the starters, including Allen, play the finale against the Jets in the throwback red helmets?! Welp… guess you will be seeing them play after all. 🤷🏻‍♂️
  4. I hate the fact that the draft rewards poorly run organizations. I'd love to see a rotating pick model where the teams that picked on the perimeter of the draft are then moved towards the middle. Forget how teams finished the previous year. Don't reward poor performance. Yr 1 - 1st pick Yr 2 - 31st pick Yr 3 - 16th pick Yr 4 - 17 pick Yr 5 - 2nd pick yr 6 - 30th pick yr 7 - 15th pick yr 8 - 18th pick
  5. The Tennessee Titans have the chance to do the funniest thing ever.
  6. The smartest and most important being their bean counters. Player safety? Sure they care about that, but it won’t get in the way of the bottom line. A drop of quality of the product and player injury risk is a chance they’re willing to take. Players won’t balk too much for the same reason.
  7. Wonder what he's up to these days. Kinda shocked they haven't revisited him being here as McDermott and Beane had a lot of glowing things to say about him.
  8. Cooks was a better version of John Brown's style of play. Curious to see who puts a claim in, or how he maneuvers his free agency. Does he have anything left for a contending team?
  9. Yea because we all know that giving the ball to your RB 4 STRAIGHT times on a drive worked real well in high school. And McD has done this so often I think he really believes it. Its explains why every season plays out like Ground Hog Day in the final results.
  10. Watched him last year during the our game with Houston and thought he was the real deal. Fast, physical with sound technique. As you mentioned, always taking it too far and is usually good for 3 to 4 fines a season.
  11. Kind of a weird week. Almost all of the AFC teams are done after the 1pm slot. I think the dream of the #1 seed is pretty much dead unless we win out (I think there is a pretty good chance 13-4 is the #1 seed record this year). The division is hanging on by a thread, but need the Pats to lose today. Come on Flacco! Unleash the elite dragon! I actually think the Pats could lose today. Vrabel is a good coach, but an away game against a bad team is the type of game a young team doesn't necessarily get up for.
  12. Yeah, I really think there is no "wrong way" to look at it. I think it's based now on if you see a path to the division still for the Bills. I see the path, but I don't have confidence the Bills will be able to take it. I'm out on our division title opportunity and focused on Wild Card. As such I just don't want a Cincinnati team that still feels like they can make the playoffs. They already lost 3 in a row and could easily drop the next two to New England and Baltimore before facing us. I would love that for them.
  13. Yea it was Wyoming Josh's worst trait. He has mainly overcome it in the NFL which is super impressive but every now and again when his OL collapses as it did Thursday he reverts to type, holds it too long running around recklessly in the backfield trying to make something happen. To be clear though it was a symptom of the Bills failure on Thursday not the cause.
  14. I can’t remember another time where so many teams were so close in the standings. There are only 7 teams in the entire NHL that are under .500 right now, and only 3 in the east. The Sabres, of course are one of those 3, as they currently sit last in the east and 28/32 overall. But they are still only 5 points out of a wildcard spot. They are still very much in the race if they can start stringing some wins together.
  15. The problem with McD's comments is that he doesn't address the elephant in the room - the woeful first half performances of his defenses in multiple games. Against Houston, Atlanta, Baltimore & Tampa Bay the Bills D was largely non-existent for one half to three quarters of the game. I've seen this bizarre and frankly disgusting shtick from McD before where he throws the offense under the bus for not plying great while making excuses for and/or not recognizing the putrid play of his defense - a unit that gets the lions share of draft picks & FA signings and represents his personal area of expertise. To be even fairer the defense was awful in the 1st half against Houston and was awful for large parts of the games against the Ravens, Bucs, Dolphins & Falcons. Defense is a McD specialty it's his area of expertise. On top of that the lions share of FA signings and draft capital has been allocated to the D. It is not enough to make effective adjustments later in a game.
  16. For whatever weird reason this year, I’ve been very avoidant of watching other games when we lose. It’s like none of the outcomes have really been going our way. I do think the division is completely out of reach. But as long as those squads behind us loses, and the Ravens don’t win their division, I’m confident being a wildcard. The Bills have shown even with all of their turnovers and terrible defensive showings, they’re still within reach of winning those games. If we can eliminate the turnovers to no more than 1, and 1 not at a bad time during a game, they’re very capable of being successful in the playoffs. Of course I want the Chiefs, Patriots, Ravens, and Chargers to all lose. But they all will more than likely win today. 🤣
  17. 1) Brady did that because he LITERALLY could not run. He was slow as molasses. Throwing the ball at the ground was his ONLY option. 2) Brady knew the very next play he would have a receiver running wide freaking open. Allen does not have that luxury. It is absolutely stupifying how many of you want to take away what makes Allen special (his off script ability) in favor of turning him into a dink and dunk robot.
  18. Unless CIN runs the table, they shouldn’t be an issue for us. 10-7 is probably the line and unless we lose three in a row, we’ll have the tiebreaker over PIT & BAL and/or knocked CIN down to 8 losses with a tie-breaker over them. Im pulling for them to beat NE, not only for the faint hope of the AFCE, but I also want that game on Thursday with Burrow & Chase returning to have as much juice as possible. It’s do or die for them either way, but looking at schedules, even more real coming off a win. My rooting interests for the rest of the season are basically Bills get in and Baltimore, KC get left out. If NE beats CIN, I’m probably to the point where I’d root for them to beat Baltimore, because I wouldn’t see them losing to the Giants, Jets or Dolphins.
  19. I believe that was his point. Now that she’s leaving, it opens up a spot in Congress for “some nutcase in north Georgia to cash in”
  20. Well, he is a beefy fellow and I don't think he would have done any worse then Brown did at RT. I say, give him a jersey. Ok, but hear me out. Tooth Fairy covers A LOT of ground quickly every night. One would think she could be a good deep threat. Slide her into the role that made for Mecole Hardman and I think we may have something.
  21. Scoring defense is not the only thing that matters. Lack of creating turnovers, giving up long time consuming drives robbing the offense of possessions, giving up non scoring drives that flip the field position and the point in a game that a defense allows scoring drives can matter just as much. By any rational assessment the Bills are a bottom 10 D. If we can't agree on this then we can't agree on anything.
  22. People can vote if they haven't or update their votes if they have.
