Why keep bringing certain guys back?
Goin Breakdown replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall
Well as long as you know what to do it doesn't matter if you're actually good at it. Plus they say things like please and thank you. -
I think "knowing the system" is irrationally high on the priority list when they're looking to add players.
-
The whole defense needs to learn that for sure.
-
Shakir and Cook combined only account for 3 of those 19 plays, and one of them was a pass that traveled 20+ yards in the air. Kincaid has 6 of the 19, Coleman and Palmer 3 each, Moore with 2, and Hawes and Samuel with 1 each.
-
It is when we only have 3 active cornerbacks on the roster!! And the top 2 are struggling !
-
But he’s a safety. I gather they wanted another LB around with what’s going on with Williams and Milano.
-
I guess this means that Jimmy Ciarlo stays on the active roster.

Me: "I wish just once they would pick a non-divisive mass appeal musician that isnt controversial to play the Super Bowl halftime show." Also me: "I wish the death metal band Obituary would play the Super Bowl halftime show."

Why keep bringing certain guys back?

Haven’t you heard? Our defense is REALLY REALLY complicated. -
They're down two LBs, maybe for a while, and you wanna fill that hole with a S?
-
especially if they know how to tackle!
-
Play some press defense with safety over top. But no, we have to play the McDermott soft as Charmin defense and let the wr get free 7 yards every time.
-
We have right now as starters Thompson and Bernard. Williams and Milano can be back soon. Them Buffalo Joe and Ciarlo. Then Jenkins on the practice squad. Is bringing a guy back familiar with the system really worth getting one’s panties in a knot?
-
Well at least he got an all expense paid vacation in London. 👍

Starting linebackers for the AFC Championship game: Baylin Spector A.J. Klein A Road Cone
-
I mentioned it in the Spector thread but it got me thinking. There is a level of arrogance within this regime that could be studied. They will bring back guys that no one else wants, because they know their system. There must be a belief that they are seeing something that others aren’t. The following guys, were here, gone and now brought back occupying a slot on the roster or PS: - Baylon Spector - Tre White - Jordan Poyer - Jordan Phillips - Dane Jackson - Nick Broeker - Gabe Davis I think that’s 10%(ish) of the roster & PS slots. There is not a market for any of those guys with the possible exception of a healthy Gabe. Crazy

For all who are crapping on Beane over any move, remember that McD has a LOT of say when it comes to personnel.

Let's all burn our Cold Front jerseys in protest

Okay my take is that I would rather have CJ Gardner-Johnson on the PS instead of Spector. Do you disagree? One of those guys has at least a small chance of helping the team later this year and one of them has no chance. We have to stop always choosing the culture fit that knows the system over the more talented player. That's how you end up with Tre White and his rubber band legs covering Stefon Diggs 1v1 in a meaningful game. I don't really care about the PS but the constant inability to be self-aware about ther own bad habits is really depressing.

Is our defense really that complicated? Really?
