At least he wasn't 21st (AKA last)???

I'm running out of optimism today.

Quint, out.

Here's the rankings he cited:

I think this is a good move. He's not coming in to be the starter, just come in when (unfortunately not if) Edwards gets hurt. He'll do a decent job and will be more competent on the field than JP was last year. Now the Bills FO can focus on filling other gaps.

Your "logic" has no place here...

Man, when I said I wanted the Bills to bring in a veteran QB to mentor Trent, I didn't mean with his algebra homework.

Hey, Trent went to Stanford, he's a smart guy in his own rights.

In fact, I think we now have the smartest QB tandem in the NFL.

Take that "teams who have QBs who win games"! Our QBs can tell you what the main export of Uzbekistan is!

No need for Lee Evans to show up if this guy has to play. He can't throw the ball more than 5 or 6 yards downfield. T.J. Houshmanzah (or however you spell it), had 92 catches from him and didn't sniff 1000 yards, what does that tell you about his downfield ability?

Like Turk knows how to call a deep pass anyways...

Its win-win!

Well, we've got a Stanford guy, a Harvard guy... and the 2008 Arab-American Athlete of the Year.

We can't be stopped.

And our HC graduated from Yale. Throw in Levy's influence from Harvard, and we've got the smartest guys in the entire league.

Fitzpatrick played behind a terrible line last year, but I figured the front office would go with someone a little older. Maybe they're pushing Edwards a little with another young guy.

You gotta be f#cking kidding me? We were better off with J.P. This team gets more disgusting as every day goes by.

Um, no we weren't. JP is a dumb meathead jock who can't do anything productive once his #1 WR is covered on the deep route. Essentially, JP = a more durable RJ. Fitzpatrick doesn't have JP's physical skills, but should more than make up for it with a brain fit for a modern NFL QB. Someone who can sustain drives and keep our defense from having to be on the field for 3/4 of the game.

We would KICK ASS in a debate! And not just one that involves football, beer and / or wings...

We could put our guys onto the NFL Debate team. That'd show em we're not playing around anymore. DJ could moderate, and I think he'd be a lot like Ferris Bueller's teacher played by Ben Stein.

I'll take thermonuclear dynamics for 1000 Dick...

He had a worse completion percentage than JP did this year (59.4 vs. 60.6), but a better TD%, was sacked less frequently, and threw fewer interceptions per attempt.

I can't conclusively say that he's better than JP, but I don't think he was significantly worse.

However, the Bills really could have used an older vet QB who could have taught Edwards something about the game, not some guy who kept the lights on when Palmer got hurt.
