T master Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Did last weeks game finally slap Brady in the face and wake him up to what he has as far as weapons in a season with less at the WR position ? Dawson Knox once again although under utilized to this point this season has proved as he had long before Kincaid was ever a thought here & was paid for it because of his worth to this team just how useful if used the right way & what he can do for this offense . 6 Catches for 93 yds leading the team in receptions & all while Kincaid was on the field . Bellichek had a 2 TE set up at 1 point and tore teams up with it and if Kincaid is a s good as every body thinks he is these 2 TE's could produce close to what Gronk and others along side him did back then, if our Brady would utilize them to their strengths . If you come up short in one spot put more emphasis on another spot that you know has strengths & utilize it to make up for the loss !! And then add Hawes into the equation that could be just 1 more weapon to make up for certain short comings in the passing game !! I hope last week was a wake up call for Brady to use those other weapons he has going forward . GO BILLS !!! 3 2 Quote

TheBrownBear Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago We've been running multiple TE sets all year and the Bengals are the worst in the league at covering TEs by a mile. This isn't some new cheat code that Brady unlocked. 2 2 1 Quote

This isn't some new cheat code that Brady unlocked. All very true. However, I believe Brady needs to look at that game as a blueprint for how to make this offense work. Success this year on offense isn't going to come from WRs making plays. We need to run the ball, get the ball to the skilled TEs we have gathered and take a shot down field here and there when the opportunity presents itself. The Bills will be at their best playing very boring football. 30 running plays a game, 10 yards at a time. Eat up the clock, shorten the game and limit the other teams possessions. The key to success this year is Josh staying patient and being happy to win boring. 4 minutes ago, SoonerBillsFan said: When you can attack the entire field, it opens up everything including the run game. We need to hope they continue that speed mindset in the off-season and go after some players that aren't just fast, but are known field stretchers. Having a guy like Samuel, that does have speed but using him horizontally doesn't really solve the issue. 1 3 1 Quote

With all the underwhelming WR’s Beane has plucked off the scrap heap, you’d think we would get lucky just once. I think Cooks is it. It’s our turn. Cooks is going to explode against the Pats. We are due. 3 1 1 Quote

They have to actually invest real assets in the position and quit trying to play moneyball. 2 Quote

Honestly, I think if they have to overpay, then so be it. If it means a Julio Jones type draft day trade, or moving way too many picks for a Justin Jefferson, fine. That position can NOT be a weakness heading into yet another season next year. 2 Quote

Running TE sets and using them are 2 totally different things, yes the Bengals are the worst at defending it but by the production alone I hope a light goes on for a way to get more production out of this O moving forward . Since they brought Kincaid here Knox has been a after thought and last week showed what he still has tog I've to this team & why they paid him in the first place which many here complain about and in some ways I hope last week shuts them up . You can have all the best of some things in life but if you don't use them what good are they ?? 1 Quote
BearNorth Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago What I want to know is How Cinci manages to pay a top tier QB and TWO top tier WR's plus gesicki, who is a top 20 TE. Quote

I would like to see the Bills take some shots down the field early, if not the Pats will go all in to stop Cook and the running and only have single safety back with everyone in the box. They did this in our first game, we need to use the pass to open up the running game Quote

They don’t pay their offensive line and defense. There’s a reason why the D can’t get stops and Burrow is always banged up. 2 Quote

If you can attack a defense with the run and the pass, both horizontally and vertically, you become very hard to defend. But we're limited. 3 Quote

This front office cant grasp that concept Its kinda like they can’t concentrate on more than two things at a time offensively, for lack of a better way to put it, they have success with the O- line or tight ends, or WRs or RBs but can’t incorporate them all at the same time, we have a stunningly great QB, but the FO doesn’t seem to be able to put a complete team together at any one moment, I guess that’s the nature of the beast…, with most teams, GO BILLS!!! 1 2 Quote

T, agreed, but also the RBs as dump off receivers as they are better in space than even the WRs. If we can get Palmer healthy, a combo of him Cooks, Davis, and Shakir as the slot, with the TE (any of the three, don’t be predictable Brady can make noise. Hawes has proven he can be a 5 yard drop off, Knox can easily handle a 7-10 yard short pass over the middle, and Kinkaid can be a target anywhere. We pretty much can’t do anything about WR until next year, and we don’t have the $ for a free agent acquisition, but we can make a dent in the draft with a WR at the top and a DL in the second round. Sierra Foothills Posted 6 minutes ago Posted 6 minutes ago One McDermottism is "the daily habit of improvement." Underlying this entire discussion is whether Joe Brady can improve, refine, and develop this offense with the pieces that he has to work with. If so, this would be a sign that there's hope for the future. In looking over the season's boxscores I noticed a few things. One is that RB usage in the passing game has increased. Part of that is undoubtedly due to Kincaid missing weeks 11-13 but the offense seemed to benefit greatly by involving the RBs in the passing game. The RBs have caught 30 passes in weeks 10-14 (6 receptions/week). Though some have been downfield it really speaks to Josh taking more layups and letting the RBs do the work. The other thing I noticed is that the Bills are 7-2 when Kincaid plays and 2-2 when he doesn't. Same record last year in games he missed. From Yahoo: "Last year, the Bills were 2-2 when Kincaid was unavailable. And it’s the same 2-2 record for Buffalo this season when the star TE has been on the shelf. The Bills struggle without Kincaid because he’s a key cog in their passing game. When they don’t have him, they’re a bottom 10 passing offense in the league (195.0 per game). When they have him, they’re in the top five range (240.5)." https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/dalton-kincaid-injury-huge-stat-181700517.html From SI: The 6-foot-4 Kincaid was Bills' most-efficient pass-catcher when active this season. He was the team's leading receiver through nine weeks despite playing only 42 percent of offensive snaps https://www.si.com/nfl/bills/onsi/dalton-kincaid-injury-bills-head-coach-gives-update-potential-availability-vs-bengals From AI: Kincaid leads all Bills receivers in yards per reception (15.4 YPR) and ranks among the best tight ends ever in yards per target (12.4 Y/Tgt), and Kincaid boasts one of the league's highest catch rates (88%) among pass-catchers. For the Bills to make a deep push, Kincaid has to stay healthy. As far as the Bills receivers are concerned, he's the straw that stirs the drink. Quote
