Pitts is taking this game over. He’s a physical specimen, the actual version of what half the board insists Kincaid is destined to become.  He's younger, too. Looks like Atlanta has wasted his potential.

the hype was all Baker #1  as I recall though. Im sure that is debatable but it's my recollection

Now it's clearly #17 as the best QB in that class.

Im not biased

much

lol

IIRC Darnold was the front runner for most of that process. He got passed by Baker sometime after the Combine, I believe. Then, the rumor a day or two before the draft was that Allen had emerged as a potential #1 overall pick, before those adolescent Tweets surfaced the night before or day of the draft.

I think Darnold was considered the more talented player with more flaws which pushed him to not be the consensus number one

Baker Mayfield might not have the size that most teams covet.. but he had a stronger arm than Darnold.. fit in multiple systems better and was basically as good as an athlete

Sam was a high ceiling guy who also had to correct stuff while having a pretty good floor... Baker's floor was higher and their ceiling probably not far off

Josh if he would have went to the NFL draft the year before could have been the number one pick... A lot happens when you return to school and you get nitpicked even more

He needed that extra year in Laramie with all that fire and pressure around him

Baker's makeup of walking on it Texas tech and giving up scholarships to a school like Washington State.. and then earning the starting job as a freshman.. then abandoning that and going to Oklahoma where he had the red shirt... And then just ball for years really cemented himself as a guy with a crazy high floor because his work ethic was undoubtable

A franchise like the browns if you can get a guy with a fiery personality that the Cleveland natives will love and he's talented that's probably a no-brainer.. Sam darnold is too laid back for the Cleveland franchise

Dumb coaches get burned by chasing points. I see it every week, just take the points.

The team made crazy plays to tie the game but the coach blew it
