He’s incredible, but there’s a lot more that goes into sustained competitiveness than just having a great quarterback.

 

If we decide to move on from this regime, the range of outcomes becomes much wider. Sure, we could luck into a duo that instantly elevates us. But there’s also a very real chance we stumble backward. There are far more franchises stuck in that cycle than there are consistently contending.

 

As for me, I’m honestly still figuring out where I stand. I’ll always want the Bills to win a Super Bowl, especially with Allen. But at the end of the day, football is entertainment. I’m not going to let it ruin my day, week, or year. I simply don’t have the time or energy for that.

 

What I do know is that since Beane and McDermott arrived, I’ve been thoroughly entertained. I appreciate having a team that’s competitive every week and always in the conversation. I’m content to see how it plays out while rooting for the best possible outcome.

And I'm not sure it's just about Buffalo and that he reports to another more "desirable" city.  He's 34, made plenty of cash and has 5 kids and his hottie wife sitting there in Philly. I think it really was Philly or bust, and unfortunately for him, he went bust.

 

Once again I agree with you. However I can imagine amongst his friends/peers all saying "Buffalo, freezing, boring, blah blah" dodged a bullet lol.

 

If he didn't report to LA or Miami, imo, he'd be receiving the side eyes and giggles, "you didn't want to be in LA or Miami for 6 to 8 weeks to finish up your career, are you crazy bro?". 

 

I suppose it is better for all parties that he didn't report and just go through the motions to get a (for him) a relatively small pay check for the last 5 games and not be 100% invested in what remains of the season here.

Slay says he’s from the south and Buffalo’s too cold.  Yet he’s spent his entire career in the north.  Also, he signed for this season with Pittsburgh, which isn’t exactly a tropical paradise.  Slay is full of it. 
 

If I’m Buffalo, I use this as motivation.  It’s a perfect Buffalo vs everybody rally cry.  This 2025 Bills team hasn’t seemed very motivated compared to previous seasons.  We’ve been too “professional “.  Maybe this will be a slap in the face to get us on a December-January-(hopefully) February run.
