Point is it's AGAINST the rules and you NEVER really know what the league will come out with for punishment. Was SLAY worth the RISK of losing ANYTHING?

Not until the offseason when Philly won’t even need him anymore. Slay basically has to play for Buffalo or retire no one is going to try to trade for him next year

so we would technically retain his rights for the next season if he doesn't show? I get that it doesn't seem that useful, but who knows maybe get a 7th in the end?

I’m not sure what happens if he just refuses to retire and doesn’t report lol probably just gets fined a bunch of times. But if he ‘retires’ and tries to unretire we’d have his rights still and he’d negotiate to come back which could involve a trade to Philly

agreed - the teams are always in the power position because they hold the money. The waiver system applies to all teams, and therefore we had the right to claim him. I've always found the system a bit strange to be honest, but it's the same rules for everybody.

I think a lot of our injury issues lately are scheme (undersized defensive spine), philosophy (ball control offense that can keep scores close) and personnel (older, past injury history and/or finesse, undersized)

SC wasn’t our smallest, faster D designed to compete with KC?  I get your point that they are prone to injury, but would some other player set be better.  I’m sure you would say so.  Did the GM miss?  This is your beef but what he has done makes sense in the face of a dynastic team.
