I have been dreaming and gazing at schedules.  It appears, at least to me, that if the Bills win out, they would win the division if Miami beat the Pats in their last game of the year (which does not seem all that far-fetched).  They would have then have split their head-to-heads, and have the same division and conference records.  The Bills would then win the division on the fourth tiebreaker, which is best record among common opponents.  Is that right?

I believe you’re correct, I listened to a clip on WGR I believe where this exact scenario was the topic.

Bills win out and NE takes an L against Dolphins or Jets and Buffalo wins the east on the 4th tie breaker.

We need Baltimore to beat them too. Jets have no chance

Jets aren’t playing terrible considering they purged all their talent before the deadline. They can make a game of it. Just need Breece Hall and Tyrod to have a heck of a game.

The Bills don't need to win out. They could, I suppose, and that would be great, but they just need to take it week by week and get a few more wins to make it to the playoffs. If the Pats take 1st place in the division, good for them. And they can enjoy the tougher schedule next year.

We actually don't. If we win out we just need New England to lose to Miami or NY. I'll be rooting for them against the Ravens in fact. We want Baltimore out of the playoffs.

You lost me at “ If the Bills win out”

It would be amazing but this team doesn’t appear to have much amazing left

If going 3-2 the rest of the way was on the table, I'd take it in a heartbeat.

You also compared Tyrell Shavers to a Hall of Fame WR after our last win. Now you're asking if we can go 5-0 down the stretch and comparing us to the 2023 Super Bowl Champion Chiefs. With all due respect, I think you let your feet leave the ground a little too high after a win.

We just beat what is now a .500 Steelers team. And we did it running the same kind of one dimensional offense that lost us a game to a Backup QB led Texans team the week before.

You asked a question, I gave an answer. Unless Dalton Kincaid comes back and stays healthy and Brandin Cooks turns back the clock and is able to create a passing game for us, it's the same story. If we win the line of scrimmage on offense through brute force, we're in good shape. But that's not going to happen every week.

I don't have a crystal ball. It could be the Patriots. It could be the Broncos.

That's not the point though. The point is that the makeup of this team is not built to win 4 games in a row against the best teams in the NFL playing at their best.

As we've seen all season - relying solely on the run game and the run game alone is not sustainable. Regardless of what you think of other teams in the AFC, like the Patriots, there are multiple teams that are far less one dimensional. That can win through the air and on the ground.

If Dalton Kincaid can put a band aid on his Vag and be available it changes the offense and we have another good receiving option. It’s the Defense that worry’s me. It’s an absolute sieve to any team with a good running game. That’s where the worry needs to be.
