Ridgewaycynic2013 Posted yesterday at 09:08 PM Posted yesterday at 09:08 PM Maybe he wears out his welcome? There's a lot of schlubs in the corporate world who come in riding accolades; after a couple of years the corporations can't wait to buy them out. Then there's usually two or three other megacorps just dying to throw money at them. 🤨 1 Quote

Most coaches haven’t won a Championship. Only 4 active coaches have a championship; Smart (2), Sweeney (2), Mack Brown and Ryan Day. Brown won his 20 years ago. That’s a pretty short list. He did win championships as a OC at Bama. He’s in demand because he wins wherever he goes. He turned Ole Miss into a consistent winner, something they have never gone. Frankly, I think he is a jerk but so are most coaches. Edited yesterday at 11:04 PM by GASabresIUFan 1 Quote

If Kiffin goes to LSU he’s a idiot. They chew up coaches faster than just about anyone “top’ program other than Auburn or Florida. He can win at Ole Miss with huge job security. 1 Quote

It's easier to recruit at LSU though, that's the attraction behind it. It's kind of like why John Calipari said he left Memphis for Kentucky...basically that he could have kept winning at that level in Memphis but that it would cost him a lot more of his time. Quote

Different time. The portal and NIL have changed how things work. Cignetti turned my alma mater IU into a winner, Kiffin can do the same at Ole Miss with a little financial help from boosters. Quote
dpberr Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago (edited) He's a guy who makes bad decisions because of his ego. While I think he's a half decent coach, he's a manchild emotionally. He's never outgrown his desire to be pursued. He had a great thing at Tennessee. He has a great thing at Ole Miss. Edited 6 hours ago by dpberr Quote

Job security doesn't appear to be something he's been concerned about the past 15 years. Quote
GASabresIUFan Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago (edited) I hope Ole Miss bans him from the campus as soon as he announces he’s going to LSU. They should pack up his office and leave it by the dorms. Edited 4 hours ago by GASabresIUFan Quote
YoloinOhio Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Apparently if they don’t let him coach in the playoffs he’s taking his whole staff with him Quote
BillsfaninSB Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Assuming Mississippi could match LSU or come close, is LSU really that much better than Mississippi? I just don’t get the scorched earth policy in this case. I can understand bolting from Illinois or West Virginia to LSU. Quote

How many NC winning HC are coaching at a school like Ole Miss? How many NC did Venables win before taking the HC at OU? Why does any HC candidate get hyped regardless of never winning a NC? Their potential based on their resume. Love him or hate him, Kiffin has a pretty stout resume. Ever since Bama, he led the FAU Owls to 2 conference championships, and has led Ole Miss to their first ever 11 win season. Quote

Cynical Posted 30 minutes ago Posted 30 minutes ago Just now, SoonerBillsFan said: And in 2-3 years he will be off to whomever catches his eye. Maybe. Depends on how well LSU does and who comes calling. He spent 5 years at Ole Miss. He left Tenn after one year because he had an out clause in his contract that said he could leave if he got the HC job at USC (his dream job). Unfortunately for Tenn, that happened the following year. Blame Tenn for signing the contract with that clause in it. He got fired at USC because he sucked, and was "encouraged" to leave Bama after year 2. Kiffin and Bama came to an agreement for a third year, but they informed Kiffin there would be no 4th year. So when FAU offered him the HC job, he took it. In interviews since his Bama days, Kiffin has admitted to being an azz up to and including his time at Bama. He now praises Saban for teaching and helping him get his s*** together as a coach. 1 Quote
