Who are we to question what? A hypothetical scenario where his attitude is so bad that they choose to cut him? He was sat for his indiscretion. If they felt what you're implying they could feel - they'd have just cut him this week instead of sending him a message.

 

From his Postgame interview, it doesn't seem like he's disgruntled. The media peppered him with questions where he could have easily went off. He didn't take the bait and took accountability - when he could have easily told the reporters to F off and not even field questions.

 

If he continues to show nothing, then you trade him in the off-season. It's as simple as that. You can potentially get something for Coleman and you get nothing for Moore. There's at least some potential for growth with Coleman and Moore is who he is. And ultimately, Coleman not taking a step isn't any worse than Moore.

To be clear, I’ve been rooting for him and think he’s been asked to do something that’s not his strength (X).  But IF he becomes a locker room issue and/or lazy, then cut bait. You and I won’t know that, and you gotta believe Beane is going to try to make his draft decision work.

Who was it today that clearly did NOT work back to the ball while the defensive back DID? There was a very clear and frustrating example of this today unless my in-stadium memory is askew...

Are you talking about Josh's second INT? I believe that was intended for Shavers. And it looked on TV that the DB really broke on the ball hard. Was a great play by that dude.

I'll have to rewatch to get more clarity, but a couple of us in the stands saw a WR who didn't work back to the ball with the same urgency that the DB did. Sounds like that might be an accurate observation in real time.

Exactly.  Davis looked fresh and focused today.  He is a pro.  We need him on the field every week.  He is only going to get better the more he plays coming off the knee injury.  And how about a shout out to Shavers?!  He made some real good plays today.  He is everything Keon is not.  Get him snaps too.  
 

As for Coleman, how did the Bills miss so badly scouting this kid both in his physical ability to play NFL receiver and his maturity level to act like an adult as a professional athlete?

 

Thats really unacceptable in today’s day and age to miss that badly on a high pick.

As ridiculous as I know this sounds, I genuinely believe the Bills allowed Allen to have too much input on the WR he wanted to target from this draft class, and I do believe he (Allen) asked for Keon, and this had been reported previously as many of us already know.

 

In the season prior to drafting Keon, we had an ongoing issue with receivers that could NOT make contested catches. This issue ended up being the reason at least a few of Allen's INTs happened; they were contested situations where the other team's DB "won" the ball from our WRs. There were also a couple deep shots in the playoffs where our WRs - including Diggs - failed to come down with the ball and this likely resulted in the notion that our offense needed a WR that can make contested catches, and unfortunately, that led to Allen and/or the Bills honing in a little too much on Coleman, the WR from the class that was all about the "contest catch" trait. 

 

The weird thing about the Bills suddenly becoming hyper-focused on acquiring a receiver that could make contested catches is that it wasn't really a "thing" that our offense had a "problem" with prior to the 2023 season, in the first place. But unfortunately, since it was a theme in our most recent season, it became a focal point, when arguably other things should have been instead...

 

A couple other things come to mind, like if the Bills were purposeful in seeking out the "anti-Diggs" receiver as if to prove a point or something after releasing Diggs. To prove to everyone "See Diggs could never do this for us". Well, too bad we have more memories of Coleman flailing his arms in the air than doing that which he was drafted to do. (But if we were going for the "anti-Diggs" I would have much preferred the field stretcher anti-Diggs with 4.3 or better speed. Forget the contested catches, THE DEEP THREAT is what has been missing Allen's entire career).

 

Bottom line though. The pick was always a mistake. We're just getting the "worst case scenario" of it, it seems.

I hear this all the time and I tend to think it's overblown. Josh is the kind of guy to always say the right thing. This time however, the right thing in the moment has come back to bite him in the butt.

 

It's my belief that the famous "you were the guy I wanted" line would have been said to any WR we took. It's like Beane always saying that they got "their guy" every single year. Or that whomever they Drafted was "the last guy we had a 1st Round Grade on".

 

If Josh was truly pounding the table for Keon and Keon alone, they wouldn't have risked missing out on him by trading down not once, but twice to teams they knew were selecting Wide Receivers.

 

3 teams (Kansas City, San Francisco, and Carolina) selected WR's between when we went on the clock at 28 and selected Coleman at 33. I simply cannot believe that if Coleman was THE one that they'd have risked it.

 

I believe the reality is that Beane felt that after MHJ, Nabers, Odunze, and BTJ that there wasn't much separating guys like Worthy, Legette, and Coleman (as we were looking at Outside guys only) and so long as one of them was still available, he'd keep stockpiling assets. That Josh prob liked all of them for different reasons and/or didn't actually have a dog in the fight and the line he's being killed for since then was just public relations lip service, hyping up "our guy" - as the team always does.

I didn’t like that whole draft scenario, starting with trading KC the original 1st round pick so they could draft Worthy, who wasn’t worthy today with only 3 receptions for 25 yards.   Then, they could’ve drafted Worthy, McConkey or Piersall.  Sure, hindsight is 20-20 as far as the latter 2 turned out, but maybe they would’ve just taken Coleman there anyways.

 

As it was, they got the extra pick to draft Bishop, whose game has really risen lately.

I’m not going to suggest who to cut but yes, Gabe needs to be signed. This is why I was surprised they signed Hardman so fast. I guess because they cut Codrington for him but so what?

Yeah, I was a little surprised to see him signed so quickly. But it's pretty clear that the plan was to make him their new Return man, which is why he was signed and Codrington was cut.

Gabe is very underrated. He is a really good wr. He's not a number 1 with no flaws, but I don't think he ever should have left. Him and Josh have a special chemistry. He was always legit
