He 1000% plays if he can.  Imagine telling a healthy professional athlete that you can't play because of organizational dysfunction.

Not to mention season ticket holders who paid to watch the best roster possible.

Not last week...he sucked, which is typical with him...lights it up the first few games then crashes hard when DCs figure out his tendencies and limitations.

lol he had a bad game.  the point is he could be at least 4-1 if the Bengals had an NFL caliber Defense.

Burrow would have had no different outcome had he not been injured.   He was no better in Week 1 than Flacco last week.

The Bengals record would be the same with Burrow to this point.

The winner of the AFC North could very well be 9-8

After this week vs the Jets and Steelers vs the Bears, if the Bengals can beat the Pats, you could have both BAL & PIT at 6-5 with the Bengals at 4-7.

Bengals have split against the Steelers and have 2 left against the Ravens.

Steelers final stretch after the Bears have the Bills, Ravens twice and the Lions.  Browns and Dolphins in addition.

Ravens after this week.  Steelers twice. Bengals twice. Pats and Packers.

Bengals staying contention not only would likely mean Burrow comes back and they beat NE.. it also means they stay in the race to make the Ravens schedule far tougher on paper than it looked a few weeks ago and potentially beat them on Thanksgiving Night … which would make them juiced up for our game, but I’d take it if it means handing NE & BAL losses.

Bottom Line, if Burrow can play, he’s coming back on Sunday.  They seem far out of it, but if they can win these next two games, the math changes very quickly given the PIT/BAL schedules.   Hopefully we put a wrench in that equation the following week, but not before they help us out.

AFC North divisional games are another animal. Joe Burrow has won in Baltimore only once in his career, and that was during their 2021 Super Bowl year. Overall, the Bengals are 7-4 against Baltimore since 2020. The Bengals, Steelers, and Ravens tend to split very close games, with the home team winning a lot more often than not. The reason that Ja'Marr Chase melted down and spat on Ramsay is that he knows that their season is over. They had to win that game in Pittsburgh.

Perhaps.  But let’s say the Ravens split with CIN and split with PIT, then split NE/GB..  That’s 9-8, assuming they beat the Jets this weekend.  And with CIN playing them twice, they have as much control over how this plays out as you can possibly have.

Steelers could easily lose to the Bears, Bills, Ravens (1x) and Lions. So even if they split BAL and beat CLE/MIA, that’s 9-8.

Not sure how the tiebreakers would play out.

Again, extreme long shot for CIN, but they’re not out of it … yet… and with those remaining schedules, you can see why Burrow, if right, would demand to play.

We have already seen this version of Flacco on 3 other teams. He crashes and burns after a few weeks every time. Kinda like Fitz

If Burrow can help the Bengals beat the Ravens, then that would be great. I want the Steelers to win that division.

The best case scenario is that the Bengals provide help to the Bills by beating NE and Balt but losing to us lol.

What would their record be with "crash and injured". Flacco to this point? They are averaging 29 ppg even with that stinker of his last week.

I know I'd feel somewhat better about this season if they can find a way to shore up that 31st-ranked Buffalo run defense. They are currently a top-five offense, with  4th in points, 2nd in yards, and a near top ten defense, 14 in points allowed, 12 in yards allowed.

That schedule though... at Texans, at Steelers, Bengals, at Patriots, at Browns, Eagles, and NY Jets.  Thinking that a grandmother could gain first downs by running it, and thus eating clock while keeping Josh off the field.

Flacco isn't the Bengals problem--he's playing well.  Against the Bears and the Jets, the Bengals put up 80 points, and lost.  Not sure what point your are making with this post.

So you’d rather play against Burrow than Flacco?  Got it.

No idea why people think Burrow coming back wouldn’t be a huge help..

Maybe he’s not fully healthy and rushing back, maybe they still lose .. but Flacco is a backup QB for a reason and after a few games, is now doing what backup QBs do when pressed into action for more than a few games.

Nevermind the juice that team (should) have if Burrow returns, along with it being at home where the crowd will likely be electric.

If we never play Burrow again it will be too soon. Ive never seen a QB that we match up worse against (at least with McD's soft zone defense and weak pass rush). He has looked like a surgeon against us just slicing us up effortlessly. The playoff loss, the regular season loss and even the start of the Hamlin game, Burrow was just moving with ease through our defense. We might have beaten him had we got pass the Chiefs in the 13 seconds game as he hadnt quite got to the elite level yet, but we never got the chance. Since Burrow came to the NFL we have never figured out how to confuse him or neutralize him. He seems to read our defense easily like an early reading book for kids.

One would hope Benford/Hairston and Bishop help change this.

If by the Bengals game, Max isn’t getting most of the snaps, I’ll be at a loss for words.   I will acknowledge that Tre seems to be playing better lately, but that’s a game we need Hairston/Benford vs Chase/Higgins.
