HappyDays Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago (edited) No joke, McDermott saying "we'll see" is about as positive a comment as you could get from him regarding Hairston's return. I thought we were at least two weeks away from activating him off IR. We do have two open roster spots right now so maybe... Edited 12 hours ago by HappyDays 1 1 1 Quote
SCBills Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago (edited) If we somehow come out of the bye with Hancock and Hairston out there playing meaningful snaps, ill be pleasantly surprised .. and the vibes around the team make that sound like a legit possibility. Edited 11 hours ago by SCBills 1 4 Quote

Ethan in Cleveland Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago At first I was thinking keep him on IR until the Dolphins. After hearing his interview earlier this week, he looks ready to play now. He should be active and rotate with White this week. Oh and let him run a jet sweep! 2 Quote

Teams play rookies in the secondary all the time and they succeed. If you're someone that values athleticism it's not all that bad in the secondary. What's surprising is McD actually trying it. Quote

Allen2Moulds Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago That really is as optimistic as it gets, all things considered. Makes me think it's more likely he makes it back in time for the KC game, if he's already this close. Quote

More importantly, it's not like there's much better options on other teams Practice Squads either. Boundary CB is a premium position. We're far from the only team in need of a good CB. If there were starting quality CB's just sitting on other teams Squads, they'd have been poached long ago. If they feel Hairston can't be the answer this season or they want some insurance for him, maybe they make a Trade for a CB. Outside of that, I wouldn't expect any moves outside of the organization that would be rostered. As for Hairston, McDermott's message remains the same. "Manage expectations", "he's missed a lot of time", "one day at a time". It's gonna be a while before they think about giving him a heavy load: Edited 1 hour ago by BillsFanForever19 Quote
In Summary Posted 42 minutes ago Posted 42 minutes ago If Hairston played even 5 snaps I'd celebrate. Quote

The roster spots will go to Jordan Poyer (to fill in for the losses of Rapp and Hamlin at Safety) and either Zion Logue or Phidarian Mathis (most likely Logue, to fill in behind Walker at 1T with the loss of Daquan). I put it at a 0.5% chance that they'll stick him on the field after just 3 practices. And i'd say it's 50/50 that he sees the field next week. Quote
BigDingus Posted just now Posted just now We need Hairston to be a great CB if we want to have any hope of making a Super Bowl. We also need him to fill in at Safety... And LB... And WR... You think he could call plays as well? Quote
