Rule seems fine to me - you can punch the ball out, but if you miss and hit the player, it's a penalty.

 

On Allen's 4th down TD run against KC last year, he got punched in the head by a KC defender who was ostensibly trying to strip the ball. That should be a penalty. Same concept as trying to sack the QB but hitting him too long after he's released the pass.

Well to be fair the Lions didn’t stay quiet after getting jobbed by the refs in a game against Taylor’s team.  They have to pay.

The league is doing this to send a shot across the bow of the Lions. Stay in line or we will keep you in line. Every game/every week I lose a tiny little bit of interest in this bull####. I am not exaggerating when I say that if the Bills won the super bowl I would not be as excited as I would of just 5-6 years ago. Not since the Patriots cheating winning streak have I felt more hopeless in honesty and integrity in the league. 

 

If the Bills won I would feel a little delegitimized with the poor officiating occuring. 

 

The NFL is turning into NASCAR with its fanbase but super awesome we have a naughty rabbit at halftime.

This is by far the most I have ever seen a Superbowl halftime performer mentioned during the early stages of the regular season and I cannot figure out why literally anybody that isn't already a Bad Bunny fan would care, positively or negatively, months out from the event

 

What am I missing, here

The Bills obviously have their own issues,  but I do find it odd that, when the Bills were looking like they would run away with the division and even the conference, they suddenly started to be penalized nonstop.

 

The NBA really damaged their brand, probably irreparably, by engaging in the obvious massaging of games via officiating, and it looks like the NFL is headed down that path too.

Maybe it's just me but I can't get behind some 60 yr old who talks about being a pimp and glamoring violence in la gang life or a cheesy dude who sings 1 song about Drake and pretends he is anything hard or tough. The rap game is full of snitches and protected divas from Eminem to anything in Atlanta. I'd rather not be inundated with hoodrats preach to me about how hard their life is when they make millions I just want to watch football.

The only defender that can legitimately punch a guy in the helmet trying to get the ball would have been against the Giants David Tyree in the Super Bowl. Randomly punching the ball carrier in the helmet shouldn't be allowed. But someone aggressively punching at the ball but hitting the carrier in the shoulder or forearm should be perfectly legit.

I'd rather not be inundated by fans complaining about a halftime show they aren't forced to watch.  When the half's over, take a break, jump in the car, put in the Creed CD and swing by the Waffle House for take out.
