I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often with the way athletes fill themselves up with NSAIDs and alcohol to play through the pain. I remember Alonzo Mourning talking about punch bowls of Advil in the locker room after he needed a very young kidney transplant.

It really wasn't.  This is who Mangold is and the fans adored him for it. What is it that you think the Post is not so subliminally saying about Mangold here?  What is their motive, in your mind--let's hear it.
