I'm struggling to find the silver lining.

Gabe Davis and Josh Palmer don't move the needle a ton, but they are the only incoming reinforcements.

On the defensive side, we have no reinforcements. Maybe just who's left, get and stay healthy?

This is the 1st time since 2019 that I can’t see the Bills winning the Super Bowl. Every other year, I thought that they COULD if things went well. They can beat anyone on any given day but that have a few major holes that I don’t believe they can cover for 3 or 4 playoff games.

It is sad too because they are currently $3m or $4m over the cap next year. They pretty much have to part ways with Milano, Knox, Taron and Daquan Jones. I’d probably clean house but don’t think that they will. I suspect Beane is gone, Babich is gone and Brady takes a HC job. They have struggled to draft well early and lack elite talent because of it. It’s going to be tough to take the necessary steps needed with what they have to work with. This year has been such a disappointment. They may still win the division and a playoff game or 2 but they are too flawed to be a real contender.

Interesting. You really think Beane is gone after this year? Im not against it personally but I cannot see Terry pulling the trigger. In that scenario what do you think happens with McDermott?

I don't think it's bad as you say. We're a coaching staff and one legit WR away from being a Super Bowl contender. There are some obvious cuts to make next offseason that will get our cap in decent shape. Not going to be easy as can be for the next guys in charge but they start out with Allen and a solid foundation on both sides of the ball.

If I had my way, all of the following would be gone:

Milano

Bernard

Rapp

Knox

Coleman

Jones

Oliver

White

Samuel

L Jackson

Johnson

And I'm REALLY close to putting Groot and Ray Davis on that list too.

I mean down to the studs. Have to shed a looooot of dead weight on this team

That’s the scary part. They’ve tried to keep it plugged together but may be time to be bold.

I don’t know if he is or isn’t. It sure feels like the heat is turning up. He’s taking way more heat publicly than he has up until this point.

My guess is McDermott is back unless this falls apart. He shouldn’t be back in my opinion. He did a nice job building the foundation and now it’s time for someone to take them over the top.

How i look at it:

What's better? To bring back the 10-12 guys who are holding the team back, swim upstream and struggle for a WC and early exit or take the hit with new management for a year, and come back the following much stronger

I agree, I do think maybe the ship has sailed with regards to plugging in a new coach and finishing the job. They do not have alot of talent outside of Cook and Josh, a new coach might not get them over the top at this point. That said I believe you aren't winning with McBean so it is time for a change.

Josh is about to be 30 (or is). You can’t wait a couple of years to do it.

That's what I'm saying. If your plan is to wait another three or four years to make a change you'd be better off trading Allen and just giving up. Because it's gonna take a MINIMUM of two years to turn the mess around, and he'll be far less valuable at 32 than 30.

Which is what should have happened years ago but excuses, excuses, excuses…..

Yes. I'm trying to deal with the here and now, though

I get it.

It just kills me that we wasted these prime years of Josh on Dorsey and now Brady. All the while the D was 💩.

It is frustrating watching us have to start hitting a bottom before people finally realize what has been out in the open for years now.

What the foundation? other than josh and a couple of olinemen, and hairston (based on two games) its not clear anyone coming in would want to keep any of the aging slow players, or the younger always broken players.  And no other head coach would be pining to keep this coaching staff. The McDermott mirage has been exposed as a function of Josh Allen on rookie contract, with strong team, then Josh Allen by himself, and the most horrid division in football as the source of success.  Now that the patriots have a modestly good team, the wheels are flying off the mirage.

The time to plug a new HC in was after 13 seconds, it’s too late now. There’s not enough talent to get this team over the top and any incoming HC would know that. It’s time to move on from a lot of dead weight, and unfortunately, the “process” will have nothing to show for the last 8 years. After four SB losses, the drought and the process, the trophy case will still be empty.

I know losses to division rivals are painful, but Beane is not going anywhere guys.

Zero chance Beane or McDermott go anywhere.

Pegula is petrified because of the Sabres.

These guys get Allen's entire career. He'll need to overcome management and coaching to win it all.

It could happen. Might as well come to terms with it though, because we win or lose with McBeane.
