I don't think safety is a consideration for them at all. I think they want to see Bishop with a full year. And they absolutely love Rapp for some reason. They backfilled Hamlin with Poyer. Sadly I think they are content there.

Hamlin was better for consistency over Bishop. Bishop has a higher ceiling because we do not know it right now. We pigeonholed ourselves with Rapp and not planning for a contingency post 2025 that we could pull if needed for failure this year.

I doubt they still love Rapp after the last few weeks of tape.  His angles and technique and recognition and communication have been horrendous.

Check his film from last year. He's the same player he was then. People are noticing it more this year. He was an awful liability last year.

His missed tackle rate has like quintupled or sextupled from like 3-5% to 25-27% this year.

He was a liability in coverage last year as well but at least he was a very good tackler. Now he can’t tackle either.

In my opinion, there won't be significant moves until after Sunday's game, at the earliest. With 7 wildcard spots, it takes longer for teams to consider themselves out of the race and thereby sellers. The only teams that are probably looking towards next year at this point are the Jets, Dolphins, and Browns, and two of those teams wold demand a MASSIVE overpay from the Bills. If the Saints win this Sunday at Chicago, they may decide to stay the course and attempt to compete. They've been in every game, and they haven't even played a single division game. Also, the Steelers and Pats are currently also in the WR market, and both of them have MUCH better cap situations than the Bills. The Steelers are also very much in "win now" mode with one year of Aaron Rodgers. And just in case no one is paying attention, they are currently the one seed in the AFC and have a very winnible game in Cincinnati tonight. I expect Waddle to be a Steeler any day now. And if Bills fans want Olave or Shaheed, we all need to be Bears fans this week.

I won't lie part of me was happy New England beat the Saints. That franchise is perennially looking for any reason to stay the course and never take an intentional step back. If they got a two game winning streak I think the Olave/Shaheed option would be off the table. I am a huge Bears fan this weekend. We need hopelessness to settle in there so they start looking to the future.

Ok, but then McD will probably trade for a corner.

I was surprised to see him come back this season because of  back to back concussions, then again so did Benford and Tua. All 3 guys I could see being one head shot away from having permanent cartoon birds circling their heads.

Olave was a 1st round draft pick and he's only 25 and until last season was an ascending player, hard to tell this season with the Saints QB play. IMO if they trade him they're worried about his health, if they keep him they know he's fine. (Arch would like him a lot)

Then again the Saints are in a bad place cap wise, so I've heard, and he's close to his 2nd contract... Offer them a 3rd like they did for Coop last season and retain him next season if you can.

Shakir, Olave, Kincaid and Coleman/Palmer would be a tough receiver group to defend and to win a Super Bowl we'll need an Offense putting up 40+ in late January and that game in February.

Olave is the move.
Stress the defense deep so the underneath stuff isn’t so congested. That allows Dalton and Palmer and Shakir to thrive.
This is primarily a running team by the way I’m not sure many of us have accepted that yet. But that only works with a certain game script.

I don’t like giving up any prime assets for another injury prone player like Chris Olave. He is a very good player but has a serious concussion history going back to college and he missed significant time last year as a result of having 2 concussions. We have enough brittle players on this team. I’d rather take a shot at someone like DJ Moore if it were for a 3rd round pick.
