With this coaching staff? Yes. 2021 and 2023 were the best chances.

If they get a new HC/GM in, I think they could win a SB. But they really need to start drafting real difference makers. Other teams consistently hit on stud receivers, DL's etc.

THIS, ONE THOUSAND TIMES THIS.

Beane is out of his depth. He needs to go and the scouting department overhauled, preferably stealing from the Eagles.

I mean how many SB caliber teams look completely lost when their QB has an off night

It’s one game in week 6.  If you think we were completely lost and aren’t an SB caliber team, you’re certainly entitled.  The team that played on Monday night definitely wasn’t SB caliber.  I think we’ll be better.

Our run game was fine, it wasn’t lost.  We were missing our two best route runners (Kincaid and Palmer), they blitzed heavy and Josh wasn’t picking up where to go with the football.  It was evident. I thought brady was lost on several play calls and overall philosophy. Several bad penalties had even worse timing.

We were missing Bernard for most of the game (which might actually be why our d played better in the 2nd half) and no Milano.  While only having 3 defensive tackles (none of which are solid 1Ts) as we lost our starting 1T in warmups.  Doesn’t help that Taylor Rapp has now morphed into the worst starting safety in the league.  He was never great, but he’s never been as bad as he’s been this season.

I'll be honest, I've never got the sense from Josh that he has any desire to be playing until he's 40. People just assume that, but for all we know he'll decide to pack it up in a few years and ride off into the sunset. He'll probably be approaching a billion dollar net worth at that point, I mean can't watch TV for more than 10 minutes without seeing him on the screen.

We need to get this done and approach every year like it's our last shot.

I've always felt like he'll retire early, and the fact that he is clearly trying to make as much money as fast as he possibly can through endorsements makes me worry that we might have an Andrew Luck-type situation where he hangs them up at 30ish.

Why did you not keep 4 and 6 then?!?

Big mistake on my part on those two and also  why 5 and 7 had no chance oddly enough

This is more true than most young single guys realized. lol

The espn article just popped up on YouTube labeled “ my wife taught me that I am more than just a football player”

I watched in horror as the same look he has had on the sideline the last 2 weeks is the same one he had describing that his wife told him he’s more than just a football player…

it is over. It’s all over. Our window is done.

For comparison sake, the Eagles beat the Bucs without completing a pass in the second half.

The Eagles beat the Rams with negative passing yards in the first half.

There is no QB asked to do more with less than Josh Allen.

Our Super Bowl strategy is hope Josh goes nuclear for a month and hope the rest of the team doesn’t fall apart badly enough to ruin it.

Not really sure where the value add is from elsewhere..

It’s possible. Unfortunately, he looks like he’s lost a step. Maybe Hailee is doing too good of a job.

He’s lost a couple actually but that was expected you can’t do at 29 what you can do at 24.  What worries me is the punishment he has been taking so far this season that will take off years of his career if it doesn’t change.

I wouldn't say we missed our window. I would say we blew a couple chances. We should have already been to 2 super bowls. The clock is ticking. Part of Josh Allens greatness is his ability to run. You can already see that diminishing. He also takes less risk and becomes indecisive about it. McD successfully beat out of Josh part of what makes him great.

I think "window" is used too much in sports.  It's not as fixed as we make it sound, particularly when you have an elite QB.

If you'd listened to opinions similar to some on this board back in the day you would've never believed that Elway's window for winning a SB didn't include his final two years in the league.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want Josh and us to wait as long as Elway did, but I agree that this "window" talk is used too much.

The thing is with this team... I I know it's not controllable, or even explainable to an extent... But we've been on this hamster wheel of if's concerning injuries and when guys are coming back for what seems like 3 years now, only to see more thrown on the injury pile as things play out... We never seem to be able to get to that point where everyone is playing well, and everyone is playing... I know it's the NFL... and heck some teams have it worse than us... But the assumption that this is ever going to get better just seems more and more far fetched each and every week. Like just in the past couple weeks... The Strong and Sanders injuries are just back breakers for the home stretch because those are 2 young guys you are expecting to play, learn, take their bumps, and start rounding out as solid depth players right around week 12 and on into the Playoffs. They are young bodies and Draft picks that were counted on. Now both might be done for the season... It just piles up...

How did NE and KC do it every year,

Superior coaches and FO. Also, hate to say it but Brady and Mahomes seem to have that ultra competitive gene that not everyone does. There’s a reason why Brady named Mahomes as a current qb that reminds him most of himself. They’re just different from a competitive and motivational standpoint.

So do you think we should stay the course, or look at different GM and coach, I really don’t have much faith in our GM and coach anymore. And I’m not that fire everyone person, but it’s been 8 years now and the defense isn’t better, and our offense is lacking a play maker on the outside.

I’ve never been on the fire McD train but if they can’t get it done this year when the schedule and competition are so favorable it has to be done. At some point the messaging becomes stale and it looks like that might be happening if it hasn’t already.

Sometimes, you just have to make a change.  We seem to be in an endless rinse/repeat mode - maybe we'll actually break through this year, but I think most feel that it's starting to look like a divisional round exit or worse.  Maybe the AFCCG if we're lucky.

And I feel almost silly complaining about that after the drought.  But what are the chances McDermott is the 1st coach to break through and win a Super Bowl after this many years w/ the same QB?  It just seems like he's not going to be the guy to bust through that ceiling.
