Because you're giving him ***** for who he's beaten, meanwhile we are over here with wins over the dregs of the NFL.

I'm sure this made sense to you when you were typing it, but this is nonsense. The Bills record has nothing to do with a discussion of Maye as a QB, and nowhere in my posts was I crapping on Maye. I was crapping on people acting like the sky is falling because the Patriots beat the Titans... were they really expecting Vrabel to lose that game?

Maye's time in the NFL is a small sample size. He's playing well against crap defenses right now. Am I supposed to anoint him as the next Tom Brady because of it? I'm not saying he's not capable of being a top tier QB, I'm saying in my opinion what he's done to date does not put him there at this stage in his career. There have been plenty of examples, Tua being one of them, of players not being able to continue to ascend after a promising start.

I have personally been impressed in Maye’s physical talent and ability to make big time throws all over the field and showcase his athleticism.

Tua’s limitations have been unfortunately kinda more obvious imo.

It’s always too early to anoint young QBs until it isn’t imo. CJ Stroud is looking like the gold jacket has to wait, and Jayden Daniels is giving Washington fans RG3 flashbacks. We’ll see how it all shakes out, but my money is Maye is closer to being the next Justin Herbert than the next Trey Lance.

Truly elite QB's don't panic when trailing. They embrace the challenge and conquer accordingly. They can beat great defenses and put fear into every opponent. Not to mention the ability to read defenses, readjust after defenses adjust and so forth. Let's see what he does in these types of situations.

The kid is good.  It’s nuts to boil success down to a single player with the most team dependent sport there is.

Bills’ fans, more than any other fanbase, should know this to be true.

The concern I have is that he’s getting higher quality decision makers putting pieces in place to give him success that won’t be his success alone but will be the team’s success and yet will be bestowed upon him.    Feel like we have been here before.

Someone in another thread said the division goes through NE now. Ohhhh boy. Yeah maybe they're playing better right now and maybe they're in year but to go so far as to say it's their division is silly at this point. I hate that I'm writing in this thread cuz I'm sick of seeing all the Maye glazing going on. If I want to read how good he is I'll go to a Pats board or just watch earn or something.

He’s getting decent protection.  His receivers are making plays.

Those two things help make a NFL QB look really good.   The minute the protection fails on a consistent basis, like it has with Buffalo recently, your QB can look less than.   See also the Super Bowl that ended a perfect season run.  Made that cheating QB look less than and some claim that cheating QB is the best to play the game.

Go Bills!

Here is the cold hard truth...we have stagnated and the Pats got better.  As of right now they are playing better than us.

Maye is going to be a damn good QB and Bills fans need to just accept it.  Anything else is blind fanaticism.

Nope, still makes perfect sense to me. I just think it's hysterical that fans on this board qualify the performance of other athletes with "who have they played", yet we have historically made hay by beating crappy teams. I just really appreciate the hypocrisy.

Agreed. I am impressed with Maye and I think he has a future as a starter, but the Bills & Allen are gunning for their 6th straight AFC East title. We aren’t even halfway through the season yet and it’s not like the Pats are up by multiple games. Even if they do win it this year it will still be a fluke until they can do it 2 years in a row. Patriots have an incredibly easy schedule compared to the Bills.

The national narrative at this point is beyond hyperbole. It's like another reality.

There really isn't any discussion of how easy the Pats schedule is.  It's really gone right to "they're back on top & here to stay."   It all feels kind of insane.

Maye is at the beginning of his second year.   The team is doing what they need to in order to build him up and get him acclimated to the NFL.  Same way any team does.

He's looking like a solid, great pick, but I want to see how he is doing in Week 9 of year 5.     Defenses adjust.  Pieces come and go.  SCHEDULES get harder.

A bit of pump the brakes on this imo.

Yeah, the talk around him is insane. he's obviously played really well but they're acting like he's the lovechild of Mahomes and Brady. Part of it is the whole pats are back storyline but also I think the media is just desperate for me superstar QBs. So many like stroud get anointed and then drop off so any time a new potential member of the list comes along they can't help but go overboard.
