We could do worse than Gabe Davis.  Like we are at the moment.

Beane is just refusing to do it on principle because he's convinced his decision making is flawless.  And if you dont believe it, just ask him

that would help with some of the deep ball issues...regardless of what we may think about Davis, if he is right, he is one of the best deep ball WR's in the NFL and he was 2nd in the NFL in YPC in the entire NFL over the years he was with the Bills (might have been first). He may not be the fastest, but he definitely has the ability to separate on those deep throws.

There were plenty of times that didn't happen.

As WR2

As WR4, Gabe was quite dynamic.

I have no hardcore stats to back this up, just assumptions and snap counts:

My assumption is Gabe was WR4 his first and second season.

He played 73% and 53% of the snaps. Allen was picked off 4 times targeting him is rookie year, and twice his sophomore season. Gabe had a nice jump in efficiency from year one to year two with catch and drop rate.

Year 3 and 4 I believe he was the primary WR2.

His snap counts jumped to 91% and 83% (over 920 snaps each season). Allen was picked off targeting him 6 times each year.

So there is evidence to support that a healthy Gabe Davis could benefit the offense in a positive way, assuming mentally he's also recovered.

Trade for a WR, put Keon on the shelf with Landon Jackson for next year unless needed for injury depth and then elevate Gabe to the 53 when healthy.

Player X via trade

Palmer

Gabe

Shakir
Samuel

Keon

Cut Moore & Shavers

Really could have used Coleman to not end up sucking but unfortunately he sucks

I still have hope it clicks for Coleman. Every once in a while he does something that turns your head, but its so few and far between, hes unreliable at this point

Exactly - I remember him toe-tapping the sideline MANY times with a great catch!

he was awesome in that wild card game against indy for sure and obviously the 13 second game.

Yes, and the famous Steelers game where he caught the longest TD Josh ever recorded. I also remember a miami game where he was a stud - on fire! But yes, he had his share of drops too. But, so does Kincaid for example.

I really liked Gabe Davis here and I'm excited for his return.

Still, we need another WR to go with him and Shakir.

I wonder if beane agrees with you and his answer is: Palmer.

Palmer, Davis and Shakir. (Coleman as depth)

Kincaid, Knox and Hawes.

If we could somehow swing a trade for one of the Saints WR to add to that room then we're talking.

Palmer, Davis, Shakir, Saints WR

3 three TE

Cook

That's a nice offense to go into the stretch run

That would be great!

But we need a DT most likely too.

Don't be surprised when we trade with the Giants for Dex Lawrence and a WR.

If we get Dexter Lawrence I will literally cry tears of joy

We've seen Davis as the other primary boundary WR, the results aren't good.

Davis would be replacing Shavers.
