It’s not out of the realm of possibility for us to lose this game, but some people are acting like this is some kind of uphill battle and the *Patriots are some juggernaut.

Pats could win this game, they aren't a bad team

But they shouldn't win this game, the bills are at a level higher than the pats, a level the pats currently can't get too

Ciarlo just feels like that kind of guy that surprises everyone and becomes an NFL star.

Ciarlo hasn't passed Buffalo Joe on the depth chart yet, has he?

Lots of people getting pre-mad (as my son calls it) on here about a game that has yet to happen.

Got a feeling this one won’t be close.

That's funny. I've not heard that one before.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^  That's pretty much every week for some of the posters around here...

Regarding this game and both teams, I'm nearly blue in the face saying this about the Bills but it especially applies to the Patriots too, who have virtually an entirely new coaching staff and a substantially re-made roster...

We don't know who these teams are yet because it's week 4. We have a better idea of who the Bills are but their defense and the entire Patriots team are works in progress.

The Bills overall are much more established in their program and being at home and in prime time, I see the Bills covering the spread.

Ciarlo!  I like this kid and I’m happy he gets his shot.  Make it happen Jimmy!

Agreed, but that's a bit vague. I would say the offense is demonstrably better across the board, but I don't think that's the case with the defense. As always, it's the matchups that matter. Is the Bills offense enough better than the Pats defense to overcome the narrower (or non-existent) disparity between the Pats offense and Bills defense, all else being more or less equal? (Not that it is; watch out for the Pats' return game and their penchant for fumbling.)

I think we need to prepare for another nail-biting game where the Bills run the ball and throw short passes, the defense repeatedly gives up yards, third downs, and points, and the score stays close until the end, when the Bills cash in on all that running and pull away against a tired Pats defense. So far, it's been a winning formula. Keep your Porsche in the garage for the milk runs and all that.

But, yes, by all means the Pats could win this game. The "winning formula" doesn't work if the Bills offense turns the ball over more than once, the receivers drop the ball in critical situations, and special teams poops the bed. I can just see Maye leisurely pat the ball while we tear our hair out before lofting a TD over Tre's head. And Brady running the ball on second down all game for no gain while we scream for play action. And the secondary bouncing off the Henderson, who has his breakout game. Down two scores, the Porsche comes out and does its thing, but by then it's anyone's game.

On the other hand, maybe finally--finally--the Bills will blow somebody out. Wouldn't that be nice?

I know… it’s been three whole weeks!

I gotta admit that this is an interesting comparison.  The numbers are pretty darn close.

But I'll add this about our guy.  He's quiet for parts of games when Cook is carrying the load or Brady is making dumbass calls.  And one of the reasons Cook is carrying the load is because teams are defending Josh first with 2-high shells and - often - a spy.

Yet despite teams being manically focused on stopping him, when Josh has to make a play to win a game, he does.  Some of the announcers like to say he puts on his Superman cape when he needs to.  He has the ability to will a team to victory.  The stats don't capture that.

Maye is improving.

Still too early to crown him a Franchise QB yet, but he has shown the game is not too big for him so far. Maye will make mistakes like holding the ball too long and forgetting about the internal clock to make a decision. McDaniel's has helped and so has the OL compared to 2024.

Well apparently it was confusing. I have some action now at -8.5. It’s tied to a Round Robin as well (Cleveland ML, Denver ML, Giants/Saints O, Cowboys/Jets O).  I bet it straight as well. I’ll be making more bets tomorrow too. In terms of total investment, I don’t know where it’ll be but I put my money where my mouth is. I also have a substantial bet on the Bills to win the division. Don’t just talk about it, be about it

Attaboy, dont forget about MVP.

I wish I had your deep pockets.

It’s more confidence in the outcome. I’ve done well betting on the Bills over the years. I don’t bet a lot of money but hit at a high percentage. When you follow a team this closely you have a good sense for what they’ll look like most weeks. I haven’t bet their results this year until now (at least I don’t think). I have bet some props and over their own point totals. Today, I also have them ML, Kincaid 4+ catches, Kincaid 40+ yards and Allen 2+ pass TDs.

Brady gave Mahomes his first regular season loss, his first post season loss and first Super Bowl loss.

It will always be that way.

That’s the first time I’ve heard that… and likely the last.  No one cares about that except for patriot fans
